A Delaware County Grand Jury returned a 4 Count Indictment against 79 year old Stanley Suchy of Stamford, for 3 counts of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child and 1 count Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child, for allegedly performing sexual acts with a minor child, if convicted Suchy faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison, he was arraigned & was remanded to the Delaware County jail without bail.
The Delaware County Sheriff's Office is conducting a food drive through December 30th. County Residents are encouraged to drop off non-perishable & Non-Expired Food Items to the Sheriff's Office front lobby at Phoebe Lane in Delhi, between 8:00 Am & 8:00 PM, all of the items collected to will donated to the Food Bank at Delaware Opportunities for distribution to food pantries throughout the County, those who can not make it to the Sheriff's Office, can call 607-832-5595 to make arrangements for a deputy to pick up the donated items.
The Bainbridge Chamber of Commerce announced that the Annual Toys for Tots will come through the Southern Tier, with a stop at the Walnut Street Crossing in Bainbridge at 11:50 Am on December 13th. The Train will stop for about 30 minutes, the following stop will be at Gas Avenue in Oneonta at about 1:10pm. there will be free donuts, entertainment, hot chocolate & activities for area children.
The Delaware County Business Alliance is now accepting applications for the 2026 Leaderful Delaware Emerging Leaders Program, designed for business and community leaders who are interested in becoming more engaged in shaping the region's future. Delaware County District Attorney Shawn Smith announced the indictment of 18 year old James Tinebra of Plainview, A Delaware County Grand Jury indicted Tinebra for Burglary & Grand Larceny for stealing a State Police Vehicle from a repair shop in Davenport on November 5th at about 3:45 AM. Tinebra was located later in the day by the Schodack Police Department in Rensselaer County, where he is also facing separate charges.
The Otsego County Office of Emergency Services reported a fatal structure Fire Saturday Morning at 125 Lake Street in Cooperstown. Cooperstown Fire Department, with mutual Aid from surrounding communities entered the structure and found an 89 year old female, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. the cause of the fire remains under investigation, the identity of the deceased has not been released pending family notification.
Broome County Sheriff's Office & area firefighters responded Friday to the report of a car crashing into a house in the Town of Union. Responding deputies found that the driver, an 82-year-old female, was attempting to back out of a residential driveway and mistakenly accelerated forward off the driveway and into the adjacent house, rupturing a natural gas line. NYSEG was alerted and the gas line was turned off, nearby residents were temporarily evacuated, The driver was transported to UHS Wilson Medical Center for minor injuries. No charges were filed.
Last week was Crash Responder Safety Week, and State Troopers joined the State DOT to focus on Move Over Law violations. Troopers from the Troop C Traffic Incident Management Unit teamed up with DOT crews on I-81 in Cortland County and I-88 in the town of Otego. On November 20th, Troopers issued 30 tickets on I-81 in Cortland County and 9 tickets on I-88 in the town of Otego, on November 21, Troopers issued 39 tickets on I-81 in Cortland County. New York State implemented the Move Over Law in 2010 to reduce crashes involving emergency responders stopped along the roadway. The law later expanded to include hazard vehicles, tow trucks, and highway workers. In 2023, the law expanded again, requiring drivers to slow down and move over for any vehicle stopped on the roadway.
Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a domestic dispute, in progress, in the Town of Harpersfield, Deputies arrested 35-year-old Michael Turim of Harpersfield, for Strangulation, Assault, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Mischief and Unlawful Imprisonment, Turim was turned over to the Delaware County Correctional Facility where he was held for arraignment.
Haley Hubbard and Rendezvous Lounge will donate frozen turkeys and fixings to 25 local families in Afton today, Hubbard told WCDO News about this effort:

In Oneida County Court today, 4 more former corrections officers received prison sentences for their involvement in the death of Marcy Correctional Facility inmate Robert Brooks last December. Nicholas Anzalone and Anthony Farina pleaded guilty to manslaughter and were each sentenced to 22 years in prison, while Michael Mashaw and David Walters pleaded guilty to lesser charges in connection with the Brooks killing and they were sentenced to 3 to 9 years in prison.
40 Year Old Jeremiah Raub from New Milford Pennsylvania was sentenced in Broome County to 20 years to life for 2nd degree Murder, plus 20 years to life for Arson with sentences to run concurrently in a New York State correctional facility. Raub was found guilty at trial in August in connection with the fatal March 17, 2011, fire at 20 Milford Street in the City of Binghamton, Raub intentionally set a fire in a recycling bin at the residence, the fire caused the death of 17 year old Jeffrey Aissa, who was inside the home at the time of the incident.
A State Police Patrol car was struck by another motorist at about 8:10 AM this morning on State Route 17C near Chaumont Drive. Police state that a Toyota Camry driven by an unidentified 69 year old female failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn into a parking lot & collided with the Trooper's vehicle, The Trooper sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital & was treated and released. The operator of the Toyota was also transported to the hospital.
Several Area Organizations are teaming up to bring a Country Music performer to Sidney High School in December, to assist the efforts of a local Charity, Spokesman Ed Curley explains;

The DCMO BOCES Board of Education reviewed a proposed capital building project plan at a recent meeting on a plan for renovation of the Robert W. Harrold Campus, the Alan Pole Campus in Norwich and the purchase of the former Masonville Elementary School to house programs for students. BOCES District Superintendent Michael Rullo told WCDO News of the main reasons for the projects:

Both the renovations and the purchase of the Masonville School site are subject to voter approval on February 3rd of next year, the BOCES buildings over more than 50 years old, with the most recent renovations approved in 2005. The projects would start in March of 2027 and conclude in 2028.
The City of Oneonta is accepting applications for a firefighter civil service exam to be held on January 10, 2026. The application deadline is December 10, Applications can be submitted in person or by mail to the Oneonta Civil Service Commission at City Hall at 258 Main Street and the starting salary for 2026 hires is $52,000. State Police responded to I-88 in Afton for a crash involving a Department of Transportation vehicle and a pick-up truck. Troopers learned that a crew of 7 DOT workers were completing pothole repairs along the east bound lanes of I-88, an attenuator truck in the right lane warned drivers that there was roadwork ahead and that the right lane was closed, while a second attenuator truck was in the vicinity of the crew members. A Pick-up truck pulling an enclosed trailer with picnic tables crashed into rear of the second attenuator truck, The DOT worker that was operating the attenuator and the 20-year-old operator of the pick-up truck were both transported to Wilson Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Both eastbound lanes were closed during the removal of the vehicles. Troopers were assisted by Afton Fire, Bainbridge Fire, Sidney Ambulance.
State Police responded to South Hall of the SUNY Morrisville Campus Monday afternoon at 3:45 pm, they found a 20-year-old male, who was not a student, with a gunshot wound to the neck. The victim was transported to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, No other injuries were reported and a suspect has not been located, the investigation is continuing. Normal class schedules resumed this morning.
54 year old Donald Lane of Oneonta, was arrested Sunday for Sex Offender Failure to Update Change of Address following an investigation in to a sex offender failing to abide by restrictions by the State Sex Offender Registry. Lane is a level 2 sex offender, he failed to make the proper notifications regarding an address change, he also had a prior conviction of the failing to update the Sex Offender Registry, he was located in the City of Oneonta by deputies and taken in to custody following a brief foot pursuit, he was lodged him in the Otsego County Correctional Facility to Arraignment.

33 year old Drew J. Garnier of Masonville was sentenced to a total of 30 years in prison to be followed by 15 years of post-release supervision for the killing of his pregnant wife Samantha and assaulting his 2 daughters. Garnier admitted to repeatedly stabbing his wife and children in their home on Houck Road in the Town of Masonville on September 4, 2024. Samantha and her unborn daughter died as a result of the stabbing. The children suffered significant injuries. Garnier pleaded guilty to 1st degree Manslaughter, and 2 counts of 1st degree Assault in March in Delaware County Court.
Delaware County sheriff's office provided an update regarding the head on collision on State Highway 206 in the Town of Walton Tuesday, where 1 of the vehicles went over an embankment. 3 of the occupants escaped from their vehicles, 1 was trapped. A vehicle operated by 68-year-old Steven Wilson of Irvington, crossed over the double yellow line and collided head on with an SUV operated by 19-year-old Lauren Winans-Houck of Roscoe, her SUV exited the roadway and traveled over the embankment. A passenger of the SUV was transported to Delaware Valley Hospital and was released. Winans-Houck was transported to Wilson Hospital in Binghamton for treatment of injuries and leg fractures, Wilson, and his passenger were air-lifted to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, the passenger was treated for fractures & was released, Wilson remains in critical condition due to multiple fractures and internal injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
39 year old Kyle Butler of Binghamton was found guilty by a Broome County Jury for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. As a Second Felony Offender, Butler faces up to 12 years in State Prison when sentenced in Broome County Court on August 12th. Butler was arrested after a search warrant was executed by the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force in November, where investigators uncovered cocaine, fentanyl, and U.S. Currency.
The Cullman Child Development Center will continue this year with their Summer series locally with events designed to be educational for area children, this year they added an old fashioned Soapbox Derby race to be held in July in Unadilla, Cullman Director Amy Williams explains:

Michael Fisher, Michael Mashaw, Nicholas Gentile, and David Walters appeared to answer to plea deals, Gentile accepted his deal on the charge of attempted tampering of physical evidence, he is accused of cleaning up the area where Brooks was beaten, and failing to report it to authorities.
The National Baseball Hall of Fame reported that anyone removed from Baseball’s permanently ineligible list will become eligible for Hall of Fame consideration. Major League Baseball’s decision to remove deceased individuals from the permanently ineligible list will allow for the Hall of Fame candidacy of such individuals to now be considered. The Historical Overview Committee will develop the ballot of eight names for the Classic Baseball Era Committee, to vote on when it meets next in December 2027.
33 year old Drew J. Garnier of Masonville was sentenced to a total of 30 years in prison to be followed by 15 years of post-release supervision for the killing of his pregnant wife Samantha and assaulting his 2 daughters. Garnier admitted to repeatedly stabbing his wife and children in their home on Houck Road in the Town of Masonville on September 4, 2024. Samantha and her unborn daughter died as a result of the stabbing. The children suffered significant injuries. Garnier pleaded guilty to 1st degree Manslaughter, and 2 counts of 1st degree Assault in March in Delaware County Court.

State Police announced that 61-year-old Michael Crandall from Oxford, succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the crash between his motorcycle & a school bus Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Chenango County routes 35 & 32 in the town of Oxford. Crandall was taken to Wilson Hospital in Johnson City, the school bus had 8 children on board, a 12-year-old child was evaluated at Chenango Memorial Hospital, no other children reported injuries. The unidentified school bus drive & an aid were evaluated at the scene and did not need further treatment, The crash remains under investigation.

19-year-old Darius Palmer of Binghamton was sentenced in Broome County Court Wednesday for the killing of 41 year old Tyrell Norris on September 30th of 2024 in Binghamton. Palmer was arrested in the Bronx in October on an arrest warrant for a separate crime, he was returned to Broome County & was found guilty for 1st degree Manslaughter and on a separate Assault charge , he was also ordered to serve 1 year in Broome County Jail, followed by 5 years of post-release supervision on the assault charge.
The Oneonta Common Council approved spending $230,000 on reconstruction of the Market and South Main streets intersection to fix damage from a water main break last month. The council held a special meeting Tuesday & voted unanimously to allocate the funding.

5 corrections officers appeared in Oneida County Court on Tuesday to discuss plea offers related to the beating death of Robert Brooks, an inmate at Marcy Correctional Facility in December. Earlier this month, a judge informed some of the officers who requested additional time to deliberate that he would need a decision from them this week, none of the officers had reached a conclusion. Attorneys representing the officers cited recently receiving discovery information from the prosecution that morning, which required additional review, they were ordered to return to Oneida County Court on May 13th.
23 year old Dekwaun Hicks of Binghamton was sentenced in Broome County Court to 6 years in State Prison, followed by 3 years of post-release supervision, for Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon. The charges stem from a June 26, 2024, incident, when members of the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force and the Binghamton Police Department conducted a vehicle stop based on information that Hicks was in possession of a firearm, they recovered a loaded 9mm handgun, ammunition and a quantity of methamphetamine pills. Hicks received additional jail time as he was arrested on a drug charge while out on bail.
Broome County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded Saturday to a burglary complaint at the Big Dipper BBQ 2 restaurant in Conklin, a Review of security footage showed 4 individuals breaking in causing several thousands of dollars’ worth of damage to the door and air conditioning unit of the businesses. Several tubs of ice cream and bottles of soda were taken by the suspects Officers arrested 20 year old Tracy Bryce of Conklin for Criminal Mischief & Burglary, 20 year old Jordan Wilson of for Criminal Mischief and Burglary, 2 juveniles were also charged. Bryce and Wilson were processed and arraigned, the juveniles were processed and arraigned before being released to their families.
Chenango County Department of Public Works announced the closure of the bridge on North Chenango Street over Birdsall Brook in Greene will be closed on May 12th, and will remain closed for 3 to 5 months. Firefighters from Binghamton & surrounding communities responded to a fire at 1 Main Street in Binghamton late last night, 3 firefighters were reportedly injured, and were sent to Wilson Hospital, 1 firefighter, John Gaudet succumbed to his injuries, he had served with the Binghamton Fire Department for 11 years. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division responded to a Davenport residence last month on a tip that children were living in unsafe conditions. 42-year old Robert Olsen and 43-year old Erin Olsen of Davenport subjected 2 juveniles to hazardous and unsafe living conditions that were injurious to the mental and physical welfare of the juveniles. Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division arrested the Olsen's for Endangering the Welfare of a Child, they were later released on the summons directing them to reappear at the Town of Kortright Court at a later date.
54 year old Dale Kowatch of Margaretville was sentenced to 9 months of incarceration for Driving While Intoxicated. On July 5th, 2024, State Police observed a vehicle weaving in and out of the double yellow lines on State Highway 28, a traffic stop was conducted & Kowatch admitted to drinking alcoholic beverages, he failed field sobriety tests, Kowatch had a prior conviction for DWI, making new charge a felony, punishable by jail time.

35 year old Lawrence Painter of Sidney, pleaded guilty to Criminal Contempt in Delaware County Court. On November 27, 2024, a woman lodged a complaint at the Sidney Village Police Station and reported that Painter went to her apartment and hit her in the face, he also violated an order of protection. Painter was located & arrested, he pleaded guilty this week & Painter will serve one year in the Delaware County Correctional Facility. Sentencing is currently set for April 22, 2025.
20-year-old Benjamin Wheeler of Norwich was sentenced to 8 months in a federal jail for possessing an unregistered AR-15 rifle. Wheeler was sentenced after pleading guilty, In addition to his prison term, Wheeler has been sentenced to 3 years of supervised release following his time in prison.
32 year old Michael Vogel of Delhi pleaded guilty to Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in Delaware County Court. In May of last year, Vogel sold fentanyl, in October, the Delaware County Grand Jury returned an indictment alleging Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance. Vogel will be sentenced to 2 years in state prison to be followed by 2 years of post-release supervision, sentencing will be on for April 29, 2025.

An investigation at the scene determined that a 42-year-old male from Utica was operating an SYV when he crashed, he was pronounced deceased on scene. The roadway reopened shortly after 10:00 AM, the name of the deceased has not been released pending family notification.
A Delaware County Grand Jury returned a 5-count indictment against Charles Larson, for driving while Intoxicate, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, & operating out of class among other similar charges. Larson was arrested initially for operating a motorcycle in an intoxicated condition in the town of Colchester on October 20th, with his licensed already revoked, plus his licensed did not allow for him to operate a motorcycle.
The State Department of Labor today released preliminary local area unemployment rates for October 2024. The State's unemployment rate held constant at 4.4% in October 2024. Locally, Chenango County had 2.8% unemployment, Delaware County 3.2% and Otsego County 3% in October.
The Clean Slate Act went into effect in New York State Saturday, which will automatically seal an individual’s New York State criminal records. The law states that Convictions under New York state law are eligible for sealing, Except for Sex crimes, Sexually violent offenses or class “A” felonies with the exception of drug-related convictions. The law does not apply to federal crimes or convictions in other states. For the record to be sealed, a specific period has to pass, 3 years for a misdemeanor & 8 years for a non”A” felony. State Police and Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a fire alarm and disturbance at an apartment located at 2708 North Street in Endicott Saturday. 46 year old Michael Stephens of Endicott is accused of intentionally starting the fire & for menacing troopers with a knife before retreating back into his apartment. Stephens suffered from smoke inhalation, 1 Trooper climbed a ladder and removed Stephens from the scene, he was taken to Wilson Hospital where he was treated & released, he was then charged with 2nd degree Arson & Menacing a police officer, he was taken to the Broome County Correctional Facility for Arraignment.

New York City officials announced that they have elevated to a drought warning and paused the $2 billion Delaware Aqueduct Repair Project upstate, the reservoirs are expected to be re-opened to allow for more water to reach New York City, meanwhile the Statewide burn ban continues as wildfires continue to burn at more than a dozen locations, due to low water levels & exceedingly dry conditions. Various warnings have been released to conserve water because of drought-level conditions throughout the Catskill region and beyond.
Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 43 year old Andrew Vandusen of New Lisbon for 2nd degree assault & Menacing following an investigation involving a Domestic Incident that occurred in the Town of New Lisbon. VanDusen was held for arraignment at the Otsego County Correction Facility and is set to appear in court at a later date.
Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 29 year old Antonio Almodovar for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance following an investigation in to contraband located inside of the Otsego County Correctional Facility. Investigation revealed that while incarcerated in the Otsego County Correctional Facility, Almodovar was in possession of a quantity of Suboxone in violation of State Penal Law and he was formally charged and issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to the Town of Middlefield Court at a later date.

State Police and Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a fire alarm and disturbance at an apartment located at 2708 North Street in Endicott Saturday. 46 year old Michael Stephens of Endicott is accused of intentionally starting the fire & for menacing troopers with a knife before retreating back into his apartment. Stephens suffered from smoke inhalation, 1 Trooper climbed a ladder and removed Stephens from the scene, he was taken to Wilson Hospital where he was treated & released, he was then charged with 2nd degree Arson & Menacing a police officer, he was taken to the Broome County Correctional Facility for Arraignment.

New York City officials announced that they have elevated to a drought warning and paused the $2 billion Delaware Aqueduct Repair Project upstate, the reservoirs are expected to be re-opened to allow for more water to reach New York City, meanwhile the Statewide burn ban continues as wildfires continue to burn at more than a dozen locations, due to low water levels & exceedingly dry conditions. Various warnings have been released to conserve water because of drought-level conditions throughout the Catskill region and beyond.
Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 43 year old Andrew Vandusen of New Lisbon for 2nd degree assault & Menacing following an investigation involving a Domestic Incident that occurred in the Town of New Lisbon. VanDusen was held for arraignment at the Otsego County Correction Facility and is set to appear in court at a later date.
Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 29 year old Antonio Almodovar for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance following an investigation in to contraband located inside of the Otsego County Correctional Facility. Investigation revealed that while incarcerated in the Otsego County Correctional Facility, Almodovar was in possession of a quantity of Suboxone in violation of State Penal Law and he was formally charged and issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to the Town of Middlefield Court at a later date.

State Police were dispatched last Wednesday to an accident involving a UTV in the town of Smithville. An investigation revealed that a UTV was on Waldon Road in the town of Smithville when the operator; 52 year old William Williams of Greene lost control, left the roadway, struck a tree and the UTV came to rest on its side. Williams did not survive, the unidentified 24-year-old passenger was transported to Wilson Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is on-going.
Chenango County Sheriff's Office arrested 21 year old Nicholas Harrington on 4 active warrants and an additional open case. On May 29, Harrington was arrested by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Detectives Division, there were warrants for Forgery, for being the operator of a vehicle in an accident, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property & Grand Larceny, and for a stolen vehicle, he was taken into custody in the Town of Pitcher, he was arraigned & was released on his own recognizance pending future court action.
The Chenango County Health Department announced that raccoon located on County Route 10 in the Hamlet of Preston was tested on May 30, 2024, by the NYS Wadsworth Laboratory and was found to have rabies. Deputies responded to reports of Domestic Disputes 3 times in May where Kirby violated an order of protection & had subjected the victim to physical contact. Kirby was charged with Aggravated Harassment, Criminal Contempt, Reckless endangerment & on the arrest warrants, he was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility on $10,000 cash bail or $50,000 secured bond.
A nurse who recently began working at the Broome County Correctional Facility has been charged after an investigation found she had stolen 8 pain pills earlier this week. 31 year old Meghan Manning of Troy, PA reported to her superiors that 8 pills with Codeine had gone missing from the Correctional Facility Pharmacy Room. Manning was charged with Falsifying business Records, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance & Petty Larceny, Manning was processed and given an appearance ticket to appear at the Town of Dickinson court, her employment with PrimeCare Medical has been terminated.

Binghamton Police are investigating a homicide after they received reports Friday of shots fired near Lewis Street and Henry Street. Police located a 20 year old male lying in the street with a gunshot wound, he was pronounced dead at the scene, the investigation revealed the the victim was shot while driving, causing the car to crash.
Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 43 year old Adrienne Caldwell of Earlville for introducing dangerous contraband into the Delaware County Correctional Facility. Caldwell entered into the facility Wednesday for Arraignment on unrelated charges, during a search of Caldwell’s personal property, Officers located the contraband. Caldwell was charged & was released on an appearance ticket for Town of Delhi Court at a later date.
The Johnson City Police Department arrested a 15 year old suspect this Morning in connection with a stabbing of an 18 year at the Johnson City High School this morning. The victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries & was taken to Wilson Hospital, The unidentified 15-year-old suspect was charged with 1st degree assault & criminal possession of a weapon & was being held at the Johnson City Police Department pending arraignment. The Johnson City High School was placed on lock-down.

3 people were arrested by the Johnson City Police Department following the stabbing of a 16-year-old male Thursday. Police arrested 18 year old Tyheem Jordan, 18 year old Luke Lucas, and an unidentified 17 year old male, the 16 year old male victim was stabbed in the head and back & was taken to an area hospital and was in stable condition. Jordan. Lucas & the other teen were all charged with Attempted Assault, among other charges, Jordan and Lucas were remanded to the Broome County Jail, the 17-year-old was in police custody pending arraignment.
Broome County District Attorney's Office announced that Michael Gibson of Binghamton pleaded guilty as a second time felony offender to 1st degree Rape, he admitted to having sexual contact with a victim less than 13 years old in 2023. Gibson is due back in court for sentencing on May 10, 2024, he faces a sentence of 15 years in State Prison, followed by 15 years of post-release supervision.
Major Construction is underway at the Greater Binghamton Airport, on the airport’s terminal building including the demolition of existing restaurant, kitchen and interior hallways to allow for the construction of temporary waiting areas, new restroom facilities, and a walkway to a jet bridge, with future work on the new outdoor canopy and entrance portals beginning in the spring. The project received $32 million from the Governor’s $230 million Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization Competition.

71 year old Michael Murray of Sidney, pleaded guilty to multiple counts of possession of child pornography in U.S. District Court last week. Murray admitted that in October 2021, he possessed images and videos of child pornography on two cell phones and possessed images and videos of child pornography in two email accounts he controlled. Murray had a previous conviction in New York related to the production, possession and distribution of child pornography at the time of these federal offenses. Sentencing is scheduled for January 12, 2024, in Federal Court in Albany, he could face a term of 144 months in prison, a fine of up to $250,000 and a term of supervised release of at least 5 years to life, he will have to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.

Local sales tax collections in New York state grew by 4% in August compared to the same month in 2022, according to a new report by State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli. Collections totaled $1.78 billion, up $67.9 million compared to the same time last year, New York City had a mild increase of 1.2%, upstate counties saw a 5.6% increase in August

On September 7th, Deputies responded to the BOCES campus, a physical altercation had occurred where the victim was physically injured, and pressure had been applied to the victim’s throat. Deputies arrested and charged the Unadilla juvenile, The juvenile and the parents were issued juvenile appearance tickets and were directed to report to the Delaware County Probation Department at a later date to answer the charges.

The Broome County Sheriff's office arrested 29 year old Dustin Smith of Endicott, after methamphetamine and fentanyl were found during the intake process at the Broome County Correctional Facility. Smith was brought to Central Arraignment at the Broome County Correctional Facility on Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance charges, a routine search uncovered 3 bags containing Methamphetamine & fentanyl. Smith was charged with 2 Counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, & 3 Counts of Promoting Prison Contraband, he was arraigned in the Town of Dickinson Court & he remains at the Broome County Correctional Facility.
State Police responded to an incident involving a motorcycle and a riding lawnmower at Hawleyton Road, in the town of Binghamton. 74 year old Danny Shepard of Binghamton was operating a riding lawnmower in the area of the roadway and front yard of his residence, 28 year old Justin Tarbox of Binghamton, was operating a motorcycle on Hawleyton Road, they collided & Shepard was pronounced dead at the scene. Tarbox was transported to Wilson Hospital, The incident remains under investigation.
70 year old Rudolph Pacheco of Staten Island was arraigned on a sealed indictment in Delaware County Court on September 15. The Delaware County Grand Jury handed up a 9 Count Indictment accusing him of Vehicular Manslaughter, Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, Assault, Aggravated DWI, Reckless Driving, and Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Crash that resulted in death. Pacheco is accused of operating a motor vehicle on August 2, in the Town of Middletown, with a BAC greater than .18, he struck 2 elderly pedestrians, Pacheco fled the scene until he was stopped 12 miles away. One of the pedestrians was pronounced dead at the scene, and the second one was transported to the Emergency Room to receive treatment for non-life threatening injuries. Pacheco was ordered held on $50,000 cash bail, $250,000.00 secured bond, and $500,000.00 partially secured bond, a conference is scheduled for October 10, at 1:00 P.M.

The Broome County Sheriff's office arrested 29 year old Dustin Smith of Endicott, after methamphetamine and fentanyl were found during the intake process at the Broome County Correctional Facility. Smith was brought to Central Arraignment at the Broome County Correctional Facility on Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance charges, a routine search uncovered 3 bags containing Methamphetamine & fentanyl. Smith was charged with 2 Counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, & 3 Counts of Promoting Prison Contraband, he was arraigned in the Town of Dickinson Court & he remains at the Broome County Correctional Facility.
State Police responded to an incident involving a motorcycle and a riding lawnmower at Hawleyton Road, in the town of Binghamton. 74 year old Danny Shepard of Binghamton was operating a riding lawnmower in the area of the roadway and front yard of his residence, 28 year old Justin Tarbox of Binghamton, was operating a motorcycle on Hawleyton Road, they collided & Shepard was pronounced dead at the scene. Tarbox was transported to Wilson Hospital, The incident remains under investigation.
70 year old Rudolph Pacheco of Staten Island was arraigned on a sealed indictment in Delaware County Court on September 15. The Delaware County Grand Jury handed up a 9 Count Indictment accusing him of Vehicular Manslaughter, Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, Assault, Aggravated DWI, Reckless Driving, and Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Crash that resulted in death. Pacheco is accused of operating a motor vehicle on August 2, in the Town of Middletown, with a BAC greater than .18, he struck 2 elderly pedestrians, Pacheco fled the scene until he was stopped 12 miles away. One of the pedestrians was pronounced dead at the scene, and the second one was transported to the Emergency Room to receive treatment for non-life threatening injuries. Pacheco was ordered held on $50,000 cash bail, $250,000.00 secured bond, and $500,000.00 partially secured bond, a conference is scheduled for October 10, at 1:00 P.M.
