Governor Cuomo announced today that
New York State now has 142 confirmed cases of the Corona Virus, more than any
other state in the country.  8 of the
patients are currently hospitalized, most of the cases are in Westchester
County, 19 are in New York City, and many downstate schools are closing due to
the outbreaks.


The Otsego County Chamber of Commerce
will hold their “Evening with the Stars,” annual business awards event on
Thursday, May 7th at 5:45 pm at The Foothills Performing Arts Center in
Oneonta.    Custom Electronics is the
recipient of the NBT Bank Distinguished Business of the Year; New York State
Senator Jim Seward is the recipient of the Eugene Bettiol, Jr., Distinguished
Citizen Award.


Delaware County Sheriff Deputies
arrested 40-year-old Dana-John Britton of Oneonta on Bench Warrants issued by
the Town of Delhi Court for failure to appear on previous charges of Petty
Larceny and Falsifying Business Records.
Britton was arraigned in the Town of Delhi Court and was released on his
own recognizance; he was turned over to Binghamton City Police on a warrant for
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.


Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies
arrested and charged 20 year-old Michael Bryden of Delhi for Petty Larceny
& Criminal Mischief, he is accused of physically cutting and stealing a
catalytic converter off a vehicle parked at a Town of Delhi seasonal residence
between last October & January.
Bryden was released on appearance tickets and directed to appear in the
Town of Delhi Court on a later date.


State Police are continuing to
investigate into the disappearance of 32 year old Brandon Williams of Endicott.  Williams was last seen in March 2019 in the
town of Maine, he is described as White, 6'2" about 220 pounds, with brown
hair & brown eyes, he was last seen wearing a red Hooded sweatshirt, gray
jeans & a new England Patriots winter hat & a tan jacket.  Anyone with information is asked to contact
State Police at 775-1241.


State Police are investigating a
break-in at the Polish Community Center on Prospect Street in the town of
Dickinson.  During the burglary, an
undisclosed amount of money was taken and damaging the building.  The crime was discovered on March 2nd, anyone
with information can call State Police at 775-1241.


Tickets for the 2020
Hall of Fame Classic, scheduled for Saturday, May 23, are on sale now for
participants in the Museum’s Membership Program and go on sale Monday, March
16, to the general public online and by phone.
Several hall of Famers & recently retired players will participate

State Police announced that an
autopsy was performed Friday morning on 37 year old Casie Weese of Glen Aubrey,
who was located Thursday in a wooded area off State Route 17 in Apalachin,
after being reported missing the previous weekend.  The autopsy performed at Lourdes hospital
showed no obvious signs of trauma.   The
official cause of death is pending toxicology results and further
investigation, which could take several weeks.

President Trump signed Congressman Anthony Brindisi's
Department of Veterans Affairs Expiring Authorities Act of 2019 to preserve
critical VA housing and travel programs set to expire at the end of September.
Brindisi's legislation makes technical corrections to VA statute and extends
key programs for a 2-year extension of authority to fund financial assistance
for supportive services for very low-income Veteran families in permanent
housing, plus 1 year extensions of the VA's authority to temporarily expand
payments and allowances for travel in connection with Veterans receiving care
from vet centers.


U.S. Senator Charles Schumer, & Congressmen Paul Tonko
and Antonio Delgado held a press conference today to unveil plans on limousine
safety; 1 day after the NTSB released their findings regarding the October 6th
2018 limousine crash that killed 20 in Schoharie County.  The NTSB report recommendations are to
require lap/shoulder belts for each passenger in a seated position on all new
vehicles modified to be used as limousines. The NTSB also said that the
Schoharie crash was not survivable for the limousine driver; limousine Owner
Nauman Hussein is facing 20 counts of 2nd degree manslaughter and criminally
negligent homicide.


Governor Cuomo announced that new state figures show the
number of new HIV diagnoses has dropped to an all-time low since the peak of
the epidemic in the 80's.   New York had
2,481 new HIV diagnoses last year, which was a 28% drop from 2014.  32,000 New Yorkers filled at least 1
prescription of pre-exposure prophylaxis last year, up 32% from the year before


The Otsego County Board of Representatives approved a
resolution urging the State Parole board to deny parole for David Dart, who was
convicted of murdering Gillian Gibbons in the lower level for the Oneonta
Municipal Parking Garage in 1989.  The
resolution also supports a bill co-sponsored by state Senator Jim Seward, to
allow the parole board to decide to hold hearings every 5 years, instead of
every 2 years for those convicted of the most violent offenses


The 17th Annual Sidney Alumni Sports Hall of Fame Induction
weekend will start Friday with a ceremony at halftime of the Sidney Windsor

The New York Apple Association predicted that New York Apple
farmers will produce between 31 & 34 million bushels this year.  New York is the 2nd largest producer of

State Police investigated a tar
Truck Fire on Calder Hill Road in Otego Sunday.
Otego Firefighters put the fire out quickly, the unidentified driver
escaped without injury & no tickets will be issued.

SUNY Oneonta University Police believe that the reported
threat of violence on campus Wednesday afternoon was the result of a
cyber-crime and posed no actual danger.
A New York City crisis hotline contacted SUNY Oneonta to share a chat
message allegedly from a student of the college, that indicated that the caller
intended to shoot people on campus, officials deemed the threat to be credible
and issued a shelter-in-place directive at 5:30 PM, it was dropped at 6:15
after a student reported to Oneonta Police that her phone had been hacked &
she was working with the college’s IT staff to correct it.  University Police are investigating the
incident along with Oneonta Police, Otsego County law enforcement officials,
State Police, New York City Police and the FBI.

With the extreme temperatures expected through the weekend,
state & local officials are reminding area residents to try to find air
conditioned places during the peak hours, avoid strenuous activities &
rigorous exercising outdoors, Wear light clothing, Check on family members and
neighbors, Drink plenty of water, Watch out for heat cramps, heat exhaustion,
and heat stroke.  With regards to pets,
or children, do not leave them in a closed car.


21 year old Brandon Clark of Cicero was released from a
Utica Area Hospital & has officially been charged with 2nd degree murder,
for the death of 17 year old Bianca Devins of Utica last weekend.  Clark was remanded to the Oneida County Jail,
he is accused of Killing Devins, posting pictures of her body on 4chan & Discord
social media sites, discord followers & Clark himself notified police,
police found Clark stabbing himself in the neck.  Clark faces court action in Utica City Court
next week, Devin’s funeral mass is being held a church in Utica this afternoon.


Delaware County continues to sell it recyclable at about the
same rate as it has over the last several years, County Solid Waste Coordinator

Robb said that China has restricted the importing of
recyclables there, Delaware county remains somewhat unaffected by that, as
volume out remains the same, however revenue from the recyclables has suffered
a significant decline.  Delaware County
Residents are still urged to recycle as they have been in the recent past.


The American Red Cross reports that blood donations this
summer are typically low, and all blood types are needed.  A Red Cross blood drive is being held in
Sidney Saturday from 7:30 Am to 12:30 PM at the American legion at 22 Union
Street.  Appointments to donate can be
used with the Red Cross Blood Donor App, at RedCrossBlood.org or by calling
1-800-RED CROSS.


The Otsego County Chamber of
Commerce announced that there 33rd Annual Golf Classic will be held on August

The 2019 edition of National Baseball Hall of Fame Weekend

The Appellate Division of state Supreme Court has declared
that farm workers have the same right to unionize as all other workers in New
York State.  State labor laws excluded
farm workers from collective bargaining rights, that was ruled unconstitutional
Thursday.  The New York Farm Bureau said
that they will appeal to the state's highest court, the Court of Appeals.


Filmmaker Lori Bailey grew up in the Adirondacks & in
Oneonta, she directed the film “Garrow” about Adirondack Serial Killer Robert
Garrow, who was once the target of the biggest manhunt in state history when he
was killed in 1973; Bailey told WCDO News that her film will be shown this
weekend in Oneonta:

The 92nd Scripps National
Spelling Bee starting Sunday through next week & for the 3rd year in a row,
Bainbridge resident Melodie Loya will be participating.    Loya placed 18th and 25th in her two
previous years of national competition, and made it to the final 41of last
year’s 516 spellers.  The Scripps
national Spelling Bee will be held Sunday through next Friday at the Gaylord
National Resort & Convention Center in Fort Washington, Maryland.

State Police and local law enforcement statewide will
increase patrols to combat drunk, impaired and reckless driving throughout

The STOP-DWI enforcement period runs through Monday night,
Governor Cuomo announced that temporary lane closures for road and bridge
construction projects on New York State highways will be suspended through
Tuesday morning at 6:00 AM, to accommodate increased travel throughout Memorial
Day weekend.


Binghamton Police arrested 19-year-old Jalil Butts of
Binghamton for 2nd-degree attempted murder, in connection with the shooting of
a woman in a car on St. Patrick's Day on Chenango Street. 19-year-old Antonio
Jones of Taftville, Connecticut was arrested last month in connection with the
same shooting, he was charged with attempted murder and assault.


A jury found 26 year old Danielle Agosto of Endicott guilty
Thursday for fracturing the skull of a toddler in her care.  Agosto was found guilty of 2nd-degree assault
and endangering the welfare of a child, she was returned to jail & will be
sentenced June 21.

Broome County Officials reiterated today about the need for
a "State of Emergency" regarding recent Fentanyl deaths, County DA

Fentanyl has been linked to several recent overdose deaths;
it is an opioid that has been found locally in heroin, cocaine,
methamphetamines, crack cocaine and pills.


Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 65-year-old
Michael Forde of Brooklyn Saturday, on a charge of Aggravated Unlicensed
Operation, Unlicensed Operator and Failure to Exercise Due Care to an Emergency
Vehicle, on State Route 17 in the Town of Hancock.   Forde was released on an appearance ticket
and is scheduled to return to the Town of Hancock Court at a later date to
answer the charges.


State Senator Jen Metzger announced a series of mobile
office hours in April.  The Senator’s
staff will be available to answer questions, discuss concerns, and provide
assistance, Delhi office hours will be tomorrow from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the
Cannon Library, at 40 Elm Street.


The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce will hold a Job

The City of Oneonta is accepting applications for the
Community Gardens program from city residents.
The Gardens are located at Swart-Wilcox Park near the corner of River
and Wilcox Streets.  Prospective patrons

State Police & Delhi University Police are investigating
a student Death on campus.  Delhi school
officials announced on their twitter page that classes are continuing, and more
information will be released after the family is notified.


The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26 year old
Hannah Bradley and 28 year old Craig Peletz of Afton for Criminal Possession of
Controlled Substance & 2 counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia
following the execution of a search warrant.
Bradley & Peletz were arraigned in the Town of Afton Court and
remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility with $10,000 bail.  The investigation is ongoing with charges
still pending.


State Police observed a vehicle speeding in Stamford Friday;
a traffic stop was attempted; the driver failed to comply & reached speeds
over 100 miles an hour.  The vehicle left
on exit 77 in Windsor where another trooper met the vehicle at the end of the
off ramp and they stopped.   The driver
was an 18-year-old male from Bayside, Queens, who was found to be in possession
of smoking device containing suspected THC oil & a fraudulent Connecticut
driver’s license.  He was charged with
Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument & Criminal Possession of a
Controlled Substance.  A 17-year-old male
passenger from Flushing, Queens attempted to dispose of a smoking device, he
was charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence & Criminal Possession of
a Controlled Substance.  Police said 3
other passengers were not taken into custody or issued any tickets.  The 18-year-old driver & A 17-year-old
passenger were arraigned at Broome County Central Arraignment and Processing.


State Police & other Local Police agencies executed a
search warrant March 5th; they arrested 10 people in Endicott, following a
lengthy investigation.  Police arrested
54 year old Paul Panella & 19 year old Elizabeth Bickham of Endicott on a
variety of drug charges, Police seized crystal methamphetamine, suboxone, a
handgun, an illegal knife, controlled substances, digital scales &
packaging materials.  Police also observed
a vehicle leave the residence & park down the street, Troopers approached
the vehicle, the driver exited & attempted to discard methamphetamine, the
driver; Matthew Wood was arrested on various drug charges, his passenger 21
year old McKenna Westgate of Vestal was also charged.  Wood, Westgate, Panella and Bickham were all
arraigned & were remanded to the Broome County Jail on no bail.  6 others were either turned over to other
police agencies, or were released on issued appearance tickets


The Oneonta Municipal Civil Service Commission announced
open-competitive exams for Administrative Specialist, General Supervisor,
Streets and Facilities Superintendent on May 11th.  Application deadlines are April 5th,

Governor Cuomo announced that $2.3 million in funding is
available through round 4 of the Climate Resilient Farming grant program, to help
farms reduce their operational impact on the environment and better prepare for
and recover after extreme weather events. Since the launch of the program in
2015, a total of $5.1 million has been provided to 40 projects across the
state, helping 70 farms implement projects that reduce greenhouse gas
emissions, promote energy savings; mitigate water and soil quality concerns and
increase on-farm resiliency to climate change. More information is available at

Chenango County Jury convicted Ernest Franklin of Guilford
for 2nd-degree murder, 3rd-degree arson, and tampering with physical evidence
in connection with the 2017 murder of his 16-year-old adopted son Jeffrey.  The Jury believed that Franklin killed Jeffrey
& set fire to the family home to cover up the murder, his wife Heather’s
trial will be held in Chenango County court later this year.


Chenango County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 43 year old
Kenneth Barrows of Norwich for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle &
aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, following a pursuit in the
Town of Norwich.  Barrows is accused of
taking the vehicle without the owner’s permission, he is being held in the
Chenango County Jail & will appear in the Town of Norwich Court at a later
date.


State Police arrested 47 year old Denise McGroder of New
Berlin for Driving While Intoxicated.
Troopers were dispatched to a complaint that McGroder borrowed a vehicle
to go to work but did not return the vehicle as expected.  Troopers located the vehicle and found
McGroder in the parking lot of Stewart’s on State Highway 8, troopers accused
her of being intoxicated, she was processed and released on appearance tickets
for the town of New Berlin Court.


State Police arrested 26 year old Devin Smith of South
Carolina for Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Large
Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.  A trooper initiated a traffic stop after she
observed Smith speeding on I-88 in Worcester,
the trooper observed an unregistered gun in Smith’s glove box with a
15-round magazine, & a small quantity of marijuana found.  Smith was arrested & released on
appearance tickets for the town of Worcester Court on March 19th.

The 56th General Clinton Canoe Regatta gets underway tonight, through Monday Memorial Day. Tonight features the Generation Gap Races, & the Taste of the Regatta event, Saturday features the scout races, the Dan Elwood Memorial Walk/Run, A Wrestling tournament & the Hall Of Fame Inductions. Sunday will feature various races, the Regatta Music Festival & Regatta's Got Talent, & Monday will feature the 70 Mile races from Cooperstown to Bainbridge. Carnival Rides, the Flea Market & Craft Area will be open at General Clinton Park all weekend, Fireworks will be featured Saturday & Sunday Nights, sponsored by Acco Brands & NBT Bank respectively.

On Memorial Day weekend in 2017, Troopers arrested 237 people for drinking and driving, issued 12,169 tickets, and investigated 146 personal injury crashes which resulted in 190 people injured.
Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 19 year old Justin Reed of Downsville, with 2nd degree Rape and Criminal Sex Act. Reed is accused of engaging in sexual acts with a child under the age of 15 in the Town of Walton earlier this month. Reed was arraigned at Walton Town Court and was released on his own recognizance pending his appearance in the Walton Town Court on a later date to answer the charges.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Department has issued an Amber Alert for Central New York, following a reported Child abduction in Sodus about 9:48AM on Wednesday. The child is 1 year old Owen Hidalgo-Calderon, a Hispanic Male, with short brown hair and brown eyes, about 2 feet long and about 30 pounds& may require asthma medication. Police believe that the infant may be in imminent danger of serious physical harm or even death. Anyone with any information is asked to call 866-NYS-AMBER or dial 911.

Governor Cuomo announced that non-emergency related road and bridge construction projects on State highways will be suspended until 6:00 AM Tuesday, to accommodate increased travel throughout Memorial Day weekend. The Governor is also urging motorists to abide by New York's Move Over Law and to utilize the 64 text stops located statewide as needed for texting, making phone calls, and other non-driving tasks.
The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant at the home of 43-year-old Robert Brady of Binghamton Thursday. Police seized 100 bags of heroin, Illegally possessed prescription pills, Drug packaging materials, and $12,816 in cash from suspected drug sales. Brady was charged with several counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a Hancock couple for allegedly possessing stolen Snowmobiles from Pennsylvania & possessing drugs packaged for sale. Deputies recovered 4 stolen snowmobiles in Hancock and Deposit, they arrested 28 year old Matthew Mason of Hancock, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property for allegedly possessing the stolen snowmobile trailer and 4 snowmobiles, he was remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. Deputies had also arrested 43 year old Tammy Moore on 2 separate occasions once for Aggravated DWI, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance & later for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. Moore was returned to the County Jail after posting bail on the 1stset of charges. A search warrant was executed at the Mason and Moore home; deputies seized marihuana plants, processed marihuana & drug paraphernalia.
Oxford Central School will be hosting a Robotics Competition called "Robo-Rave" in the High School Gymnasium Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Over 20 teams will be competing. State Police arrested 38 year old Michael Sullivan of Agawam, Massachusetts & 30 year old Gabrielle Graham of Pittsfield, Massachusetts for criminal possession of a controlled substance, Sullivan was additionally charged with Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. Troopers received a complaint of a disabled vehicle on I-88 in the town of Afton; they located marijuana and a smoking pipe with residue. Sullivan and Graham were arraigned in the town of Afton Court and remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond. Their next court date is scheduled for April 23, 2018 in the town of Afton Court.
Johnson City Police Department announced that 29-year-old Corey Robinson is being detained in Marietta, Georgia, he is suspected of murdering 46 year old Erika Smith Cunningham, who was found dead at 92 Crocker Avenue Sunday morning. An arrest warrant was issued on Thursday and Robinson was taken into custody a few hours later. Robinson will be charged with 2nd degree murder, Extradition proceedings have begun, Robinson is expected to be returned to Broome County in about a week.
The controversial NG Advantage natural gas compressor station project in Port Crane is being scrapped by the company, even after they received approval for the project by the Town of Fenton planning board a year ago. NG sold some of the property already to Carrier Services Corporation of Ohio; they are expected to request a rezoning of the property for commercial or industrial activity.
New York continues to be one of the leading states in the country where people are moving out of, according to United Van Lines. New York ranked 3rd behind Illinois and New Jersey, as the top 3 states that people are leaving. The United van Lines statistics showed that 46% left for job-related reasons, 29% left following retirement, 19% left for family reasons, 5% for health reasons. The largest age population of those who left were ages 55 to 64.

Governor Cuomo today announced a new initiative to provide teachers and coaches with resources they can use to help prevent and address substance use disorder among young people. Starting next week, the New York State Department of Health, the New York State Education Department, and the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services will notify schools statewide of the availability of flash drives loaded with materials in English and Spanish for coaches, teachers, school nurses, and other educators to use in personal conversations with students and in community forums.

The Binghamton Hockey Hall of Fame Committee announced that it will induct Brian McGrattan and Larry Kish as the class of 2018. There will be a pregame ceremony prior to Friday’s game against Syracuse. McGrattan played a total of 196 regular-season games over the course of three seasons in Binghamton with the Senators from 2002-2005, he recorded 25 goals and 22 assists for 47 points, his 551 penalty minutes in 2004-05 is the most in a single season in AHL history. Kish coached several teams in Binghamton from 1975-1982 winning the AHL’s Coach of the Year in 1981. Binghamton police are investigating the shooting of 40 year old Grady Hunter on Sunday, Hunter was hospitalized with life threatening injuries, Police reported that Hunter was sitting in his car outside a Deli at 121 Susquehanna Street at around 12:00 Noon Sunday. A suspect has been taken into custody today, anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call detectives at 772-7080.
5 people died & 1 was critically injured in a house fire on State Route 145 in East Durham early Monday Morning. Nicholas and Mary Mammano, & their 3 grandchildren died, John Mammano was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries. The cause of the fire was under investigation, and Autopsies have been ordered to determine the cause of death.
U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer visited Awestruck Ciders in Sidney this afternoon; he is calling on the Alcohol & Tobacco Tax Trade bureau to reverse a provision that would get in the way of the growth of Awestruck & Other Cideries.

Senator Schumer said that the number of Cideries in New York State has tripled in the last 5 years to 90.
The U.S. Food & Drug Administration announced that the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York entered a consent decree of permanent injunction against Vulto Creamery or Walton. The defendants cannot prepare, process, manufacture, pack and/or hold FDA-regulated food products until they can ensure that Listeria is not present in their facility and their food. Vulto Creameries products were linked to a multi-state outbreak of Listeria in their cheese products, 2 people died & 8 were hospitalized after consuming the products contaminated by Listeria.
Governor Cuomo announced more than 60 new farms & businesses have received research permits under the State's Industrial Hemp Agricultural Research Pilot program, many of those are located in the Southern Tier. The State has invested more than $4.6 billion in the region since 2012 to lay for groundwork for the plan to expand Hemp production.
The Copes Corners Park Spring Fest committee for the Town of Butternuts is soliciting craft, artist, product, and general vendors for its 4th annual Spring Fest. Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro is expected to reverse course & will launch his campaign for governor after all. Molinaro said in January that he wouldn't run, but he said that "outpouring" from supporters made him change his plans, he will face State Senator John DeFrancisco for the Republican party Nomination in the primary later this year.
The Color Run is coming to Binghamton on Sunday, April 15th and will be held at SUNY BROOME. The event will benefit Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier to assist in enhancing the lives of all community residents by improving their mental health and wellness.
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies invite fans to their annual Meet the Rumble Ponies Dinner on Tonight at the Holiday Inn in Downtown Binghamton. Tickets are on sale, at the Box Office at NYSEG Stadium. The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force executed search warrants in Endicott & Vestal, following a traffic stop in Endicott, 4 Broome County residents & 2 from Kentucky have been arrested on Drug charges, police seized crystal meth, crack cocaine, morphine, oxycodone, $24,000 in cash form suspected drug sales, 2 loaded handguns, including 1 stolen from Kentucky, plus drug packaging, digital scales, plastic packaging and drug paraphernalia. All 6 were arraigned, 5 were remanded to the Broome County jail pending future court action.
Binghamton Firefighters responded to 3 fires in unoccupied buildings last night at 8 Livingston Street, & 23 Tudor Street & Susquehanna Street within a 6 hour period. The 3 fires follow another fire at an unoccupied apartment building at 38 Columbus Park East on March 1st, all 4 fires are labelled suspicious & the investigations are ongoing.

1 million people have registered to vote using the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles' online registration process since 2012. Of the 1 million who have registered online, more than 450,000 were first-time voters. Utica Police arrested 23-year-old Fahrudin Omerovic (o MAIR o vich) on 4 counts of making terroristic threats against Utica College Monday, resulting in a lockdown. Omerovic is a Utica College student he faces arraignment this morning, the incident is still under investigation.
Governor Cuomo today issued a Travel Advisory for all areas east of I-81 as well as a travel ban on tractor trailers on certain roads beginning at 8:00 AM, due to the winter weather conditions. Once the advisory and ban go into effect, all tractor trailers, tandem trailers, buses, box trucks, and other high profile vehicles will be restricted from entering: I-88 from Binghamton to Albany, I-81 from Pennsylvania line to the New York State Thruway, & Route 17 Binghamton to I-84.
The Otsego County Sheriff's Department announced a missing persons alert, for 60 Year old Margaret Thayer, who is described as white, female, 5'5" tall 140 pounds, hazel eyes, she wears glasses, and may have been wearing a maroon winter coat. State Police arrested 23 year old Mark Allen of Fenton for Criminal Possession Marihuana. Allen was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by troopers for numerous traffic violations in the town of Windsor. An investigation revealed that Allen had approximately 100 grams of marijuana in his possession. Allen was released on tickets returnable to the town of Windsor Court on March 6, 2018.
New York State Agriculture Commissioner Richard Ball warns consumers not to consume The Maiden’s Creamery “Wild Meadow” raw goat milk cheese made by Mark Harvey, of South New Berlin, due to possible Listeria contamination. No illnesses have been reported in connection with this product, the label shows plant number 36-1315, with a code of 101. This product was sold at the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market, in late December and early January and at the Sunflower Natural Foods Market, Woodstock, starting on January 10th.
