State Police arrested 37 year old Matthew Millard of Endicott for DWI with a reported B.A.C .22%. A trooper on patrol responded to a 911 complaint of a tractor trailer driving erratically on I-88, the trooper observed the tractor trailer travel into the shoulder several times. Millard was arrested for DWI & was released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Oneonta Court on August 7th.

The Bureau of Chronic Disease, Evaluation, and Research released a report that indicates that the use e-cigarettes, vaping products, or Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems has doubled among high school youth over the span of 2 years, with over 1 in 5 youth reporting current use. Wegner said that E-cigarettes contain nicotine, carcinogens and toxins and are not approved by the FDA as cessation devices, Health advicates believe that e-cigarettes may contribute various health issues later in life, and may serve as a getway to cigarettes. A recent Poll shows that New Yorkers overwhelmingly support a policy that would restrict e-cigarette advertising to youth under the age of 18 and over half support a ban on candy like flavors in e-cigarettes.

Justin Crandall was sentenced Wednesday in a Binghamton federal courtroom to 50 years in prison with post-release supervision for life, after he pleaded guilty to sexually exploited a 17-month-old child between December 2016 and February 2017 in Sidney. His wife Jessica Crandall was sentenced Wednesday to 25 years in prison with post-release supervision for life. Both pleaded guilty in October 2017.

Emergency crews from Brisben & Greene responded to a 2-vehicle crash involving a small camper Wednesday afternoon. Crews responded at about 12:40 PM to State Route 12 near Brisben. Debris from the camper was strewn along Route 12, no injuries were reported.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Delaware County will conduct the 88th annual Delaware County Dairy Tour. The stops on this free drive-yourself tour will include Granston Farm in Oneonta, the farm of Dan and Naomi Buel in Franklin and Creek-Crest Holsteins in Delhi.

State Police released more details on the April 11th crash that killed Whitesboro Police Officer Kevin Crossley. Troopers reported that an eyewitness and a surveillance video showed Officer Crossley made a U-turn, his patrol vehicle then collided with an SUV driven by Nicole Moshier-Harris. Officer Crossley's vehicle was travelling at 74 miles per hour, and his actions were consistent with pursuing an unidentified violator. The coroner’s report determined that Officer Crossley's death was caused by multiple traumatic injuries & he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Moshier-Harris was issued a traffic ticket for failing to yield the right of way, no additional charges are anticipated.

Law enforcement agencies across the state participated in the Operation Safe Stop Day today. Police officers will be on board school buses and monitoring bus routes to ensure safe driving. An estimated 50,000 motor vehicles illegally pass New York State school buses every day. Last year, more than 1000 tickets were issued for people passing a stopped school bus.

Governor Cuomo launched Round 8 of the Regional Economic Development Council initiative, kicking off the 2018 competition for more than $750 million in state economic development resources. The Consolidated Funding Application will open to applicants on May 1, enabling businesses, municipalities, not-for-profits and the public to begin applying for Projects. Round 8 will include up to $150 million in capital grants and up to $75 million in Excelsior Tax Credits for projects and activities identified by the Councils as regional priorities.

NYSEG President & CEO Carl Taylor announced a $400,000 economic development grant for Binghamton University this afternoon. The latest award brings the total up to $1.2 million in funding which NYSEG has granted to the university, to help support 3 projects under the company’s economic development electric infrastructure programs. The goal is to help offset electric-related infrastructure improvements as well as to research, develop and promote energy-efficient systems.

Governor Cuomo announced that DICK'S Sporting Goods, has plans to construct the Company's first-ever in-house eCommerce fulfillment center. The company will construct an approximate 245,000 square-foot addition to its recently opened distribution center in Broome County Corporate Park in Conklin. The expansion will lead to the creation of additional full-time jobs, totaling more than 500 new, full-time jobs at the site over the next 5 years.

Binghamton police are investigating the shooting of 40 year old Grady Hunter on Sunday, Hunter was hospitalized with life threatening injuries, Police reported that Hunter was sitting in his car outside a Deli at 121 Susquehanna Street at around 12:00 Noon Sunday. A suspect has been taken into custody today, anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call detectives at 772-7080.

5 people died & 1 was critically injured in a house fire on State Route 145 in East Durham early Monday Morning. Nicholas and Mary Mammano, & their 3 grandchildren died, John Mammano was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries. The cause of the fire was under investigation, and Autopsies have been ordered to determine the cause of death.

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration announced that the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York entered a consent decree of permanent injunction against Vulto Creamery or Walton. The defendants cannot prepare, process, manufacture, pack and/or hold FDA-regulated food products until they can ensure that Listeria is not present in their facility and their food. Vulto Creameries products were linked to a multi-state outbreak of Listeria in their cheese products, 2 people died & 8 were hospitalized after consuming the products contaminated by Listeria.

Governor Cuomo announced more than 60 new farms & businesses have received research permits under the State's Industrial Hemp Agricultural Research Pilot program, many of those are located in the Southern Tier. The State has invested more than $4.6 billion in the region since 2012 to lay for groundwork for the plan to expand Hemp production.

Delaware County Public Health is holding a “Medical Countermeasures” drill today to practice and test the ability to dispense large amounts of medicine in the event of a public health threat such as a disease outbreak or bioterrorism threat to the community. Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro is expected to reverse course & will launch his campaign for governor after all. Molinaro said in January that he wouldn't run, but he said that "outpouring" from supporters made him change his plans, he will face State Senator John DeFrancisco for the Republican party Nomination in the primary later this year.

The Color Run is coming to Binghamton on Sunday, April 15th and will be held at SUNY BROOME. The event will benefit Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier to assist in enhancing the lives of all community residents by improving their mental health and wellness.

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies invite fans to their annual Meet the Rumble Ponies Dinner on Tonight at the Holiday Inn in Downtown Binghamton. Tickets are on sale, at the Box Office at NYSEG Stadium.
