Delaware County Sheriff Craig DuMond announced that in observance of New York State Sheriff's Week, the Delaware County Sheriff's Office will be hosting an Open House event on Sunday, September 21st, 2025, from 12pm-3pm at their office located at 280 Phoebe Lane, Delhi. Live demonstrations will be conducted by the K-9 Teams, Drone Pilots, Project Lifesaver Team, and our Motor Vehicle Accident Reconstructionist, plus Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians from Delaware County Public Health will conduct a Car Seat Safety event.
The 10th Annual Autumn Market by 607 Events Connection (https://www.facebook.com/groups/6zero7eventshare/) will be held at General Clinton Park Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Over 70 vendors are participating including farmers, crafters, Artist, there will also be children's activities
The Unadilla Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual dinner & Awards Ceremony on Sunday October 5th, at Far View farm Unadilla Chamber President Jackie Carey said that tickets are still available:

40 year old Mark Archer of Sidney pleaded guilty to 3 counts of Sexual Abuse in Delaware County Court Thursday. Archer was indicted by a Grand Jury on 12 counts related to sexual abuse against 3 victims were less than 13 years old between 2013 and 2019 in the Village of Sidney, Archer will be sentenced to 13.5 years in state prison and 30 years of post-release supervision, he will be required to register as a sex offender after prison & he is prohibited from contacting his victims.
Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 18-year-old Kayden Wilcox of East Meredith, in June, Deputies received a complaint that a male subject was in possession of child pornography, Investigators responded to a residence in the Town of Kortright to seize electronic evidence. Wilcox was in possession of obscene sexual material of a child, the Sheriff’s Office arrested Wilcox on 1 count of Possessing an Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child, he was released on an appearance ticket and directed to return to the Town of Kortright Court at a later date.
Mohawk Valley Gives, an annual one-day on-line fundraiser, returns today, it is hosted locally by the Community Foundation of Otsego County, where more than 80 participating Otsego County nonprofits will have the opportunity to raise funds with a secure online platform. Chenango County Sheriff's Office arrested 49 year old Christopher Prosser of North Norwich for Disseminating indecent material to minor’s. Prosser is a registered sex offender, a complaint was filed that he was having a sexually motivated conversation with a teenaged female, while using an alias. Investigators discovered that Prosser sent a nude photo of himself and solicited the minor to do the same, he also made arrangements to meet up with the female for sexual relations. Prosser was taken into custody at his home without incident and transported to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office for processing, he was arraigned & was held on $15,000 cash bond.
The City of Norwich is one of this year’s Preserve New York grantees, with a grant of $20,000 will fund the Broad Street-Main Street Historic District Nomination. Norwich Community Development Director Erik Scrivener explains:

Scrivener also said that most of the big projects that received money from the 10 million dollar Downtown Revitalization Initiative will go out to bid this fall, some of the projects have already been completed.

A new report identifies which States are investing most in manufactured housing as an alternative to existing homes. In New York State, 13.4% of all new single-family houses built were manufactured homes, the 13th highest share in the nation. New York State shipped 1,616 manufactured homes last year, and issued 10,453 permits for single-family site-built homes. Martinez was charged following an investigation into information he provided on paperwork submitted to the Otsego County Civil Office, a background investigation in to Martinez's pistol permit application, found that he intentionally failed to disclose sensitive information required by law for the application, he was processed and released with an Appearance Ticket returnable to the Town of Middlefield Court at a later date.

Governor Kathy Hochul announced $230 million in awards will go to 9 upstate airports for revitalization projects. The Greater Binghamton/Edwin A Link Field Airport will get $32 million to fund 2 projects, one will entail a relocation of the General Aviation Terminal to integrate it with the Passenger Terminal, The 2nd project will construct a new, 3,000-square-foot General Aviation Customs & Border Protection facility south of the terminal.
Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 30-year-old Kassondra Pierce of Hamden for endangering the welfare of a child. Deputies received a complaint from Child Protective Services with possible allegations of physical abuse regarding a juvenile. Pierce is accused of striking the victim with excessive force, Pierce was processed and released with an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Hamden Court at a later date.
The State Labor department announced that the number of private sector jobs in New York State increased over the month by more than 27,000, to just over 8 Million in August. New York State's unemployment rate increased from 4.3% in July to 4.7% in August, The Labor Participation rate was just over 60%, equaling the number just prior to the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

Members of the Sheriff’s Office & the owner of a property had completed a court ordered eviction at State Highway 206 in Masonville, Deputies returned to a reported trespass in progress, Deputies’ located Cook, he was charged with 2 counts of Criminal Mischief, 1 count each of Aggravated Harassment, Criminal Trespass, and 2nd degree Burglary. Cook was arraigned in the Town of Masonville Court and remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility pending future court action.
Commerce Chenango will host its Annual Membership Recognition Ceremony on today, at Peila View Farms in Oxford, spokesperson Audrey Robinson told WCDO News about the award winners:
