A community-wide conversation about housing insecurity and homelessness will take center stage in Norwich next month, as leaders come together to host A Conference on Housing and Belonging. State Police responded Tuesday Night to a crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle at State Highway 28 and County Highway 48 in the town of Oneonta. An investigation determined that 76 year old Patricia Howard of Sidney, was operating an SUV on County Highway 48 and began making a left turn onto State Highway 28 when she failed to observe a Motorcycle driven by 57 year old Gabriel Mizrahi of Syosset, he was transported to A.O Fox Hospital & was airlifted to a trauma center but succumbed to his injuries. The investigation is on-going.
State Police responded to a motorcycle crash with an injury on State Highway 7 in the town of Worcester Tuesday. 27 year old Jacob Sprague of Otego was traveling on Route 7 in the town of Worcester when he exited the roadway and struck a utility pole. Sprague was assisted by civilians in the area until EMS arrived. Sprague was transported by Lifenet to Albany Medical Center for further treatment. The investigation is on-going.
The collaboration between the Tri County Senior Center & The Delaware Valley Humane Society has resulted in a cookbook for sale, to raise money for the Shelter, Carol Allen of Tri County Senior Center & Erin Insinga of the Humane Society told WCDO News how the plan started:

The Intensive Crisis Stabilization Center is now open and it will be one of only 12 such centers in New York State, they provide on-site care for people experiencing mental health or substance use crises, offering stabilization services for up to 24 hours. The center is for residents in the Mohawk Valley area counties, including Otsego County.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 37 year old Nicolas Martinez of Milford has been arrested for Offering a False Instrument for Filing. Martinez was charged following an investigation into information he provided on paperwork submitted to the Otsego County Civil Office, a background investigation in to Martinez's pistol permit application, found that he intentionally failed to disclose sensitive information required by law for the application, he was processed and released with an Appearance Ticket returnable to the Town of Middlefield Court at a later date.

Delaware County District Attorney Shawn Smith announced the indictments against 3 people in the case of a disabled child who consumed methamphetamine, where 3 adults were present. Indicted were 70 year old Sam Tessora, 29 year old Eric Ferguson & 39 year old Tanya Carson, all from Masonville for Reckless Endangerment & Endangering the Welfare of an Incompetent or Disabled Child, the child was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse for treatment after he was found unresponsive. The indictment accuses the defendants of acting with depraved indifference to human life which created a grave risk to the child, on March 7th in Masonville, all 3 could face up to 7 years in prison, they face arraignment on the indictment charges shortly.

36 year old Spencer Gransbury of Walton pleaded guilty to Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, in Delaware County Court Tuesday, Gransbury admitted that he downloaded a photograph of a child approximately ten years old engaged in sexual conduct. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a Cybertip of child sex abuse material being viewed with a phone, which was traced to Gransbury, he was sentenced to 10 years felony probation with sex offenders’ terms and conditions, he is banned from entering any place that children congregate, and all of his devices will also be subjected to monitoring by the Delaware County Probation Department, he will also be required to register as a sex offender for at least 20 years.

The Rochester Police Department identified the two victims of a crash initiated by Michael Avery of Syracuse, as 28-year-old Justina Hughes of Geneva and 29-year-old Joshua Orr of Webster. Several Area Fire companies responded to a fire this afternoon at 2050 State Route 206, in Masonville. The Fire was reported shortly before 1:00 PM & was fully engulfed when the first firefighters arrived. Anderson was observed traveling at a high rate of speed by a trooper on I-88 in Worcester, the trooper attempted a traffic stop but Anderson fled into the town of Oneonta, where he was boxed in by Police vehicles and then refused to exit the vehicle. Anderson was ultimately taken into custody and was processed, he will appear in the Town of Worcester Town Court on December 20th.

The Centers for Disease Control confirm that Sullivan County is the latest New York county to test positive for Polio, Sullivan County has a 62.33% polio vaccination rate, their residents are urged to get vaccinated. New York State reported the first polio case in the United States since 2014, when an unvaccinated Rockland County man was hospitalized after traveling in Europe in July. The CDC began testing Rockland County residents and water samples, polio has also been found in Orange County and New York City wastewater, and testing is continuing.
