The Bainbridge Chamber of Commerce announced that they will
hold their annual Commitment to Community Dinner Saturday at 6:00 PM at the
Sundown Golf & Country Club in Guilford.
The CITIZEN OF THE YEAR award will go to   MATTHEW GERMOND, the BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
award goes to GALAXY BOWL & the SERVICE ORGANIZATION RECOGNITION award goes
to the JERICHO GARDEN CLUB.

The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office and State Police
responded Thursday to I-88 in Worcester, following a report of 2 tractor
trailers off the roadway with one in a creek. It took 5 hours to remove the
trucks; the crash is still under investigation.

Delaware County Chamber of Commerce at the Sidney Golf & Country Club this

State Comptroller DiNapoli has served in the post since
2007; he is the state's chief fiscal officer who ensures that state and local
governments use taxpayer money effectively and efficiently.

The Otsego County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the
public’s assistance in locating 48 year old Roxanne Shipman-Hull of the town of
Hartwick.  She is described as white,
with brown hair, Brown eyes, about 5’6” 115 pounds, she was last seen Sunday
September 29th leaving her residence, telling her boyfriend that she was
leaving & had no future plans.
Deputies said that she has a history of leaving, and a history of self-harm,
she was driving a 2011 Gray colored Honda CRV with license plate number
HZN-9505, she may also be with her brown colored female Labrador
retriever.  Anyone with information is
asked to contact the sheriff’s department at 547-1697.

Chenango United Way is looking for teams for their annual
Golf Tournament on September 27th at the Canasawacta Country Club in

The Susquehanna Society for the
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will host a public celebration tomorrow at
5088 State Highway 28, Cooperstown marking the groundbreaking of the future
site of its planned animal shelter and adjoining campus.  The reception is free and open to the public,
it will kick off at 12:00 noon with a groundbreaking ceremony and run until 2
p.m.

55 farms will welcome visitors during the 7th Annual Family
Farm Day Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at local farms throughout
Schoharie, Otsego, and Delaware Counties.

The
Otsego County Chamber to host Anti-Harassment Policies and Sexual Harassment
Training today, at Northern Eagle Beverages at 41 Browne Street in
Oneonta.  New York State mandates ALL
employers to adopt a sexual harassment prevention policy as well as to train
ALL employees on sexual harassment prevention.
Pinnacle Human Resources, LLC will conduct the training from 1:00PM to
3:00PM

The
Community Foundation for South Central New York announced a new mini-grant
opportunity for qualified non-profit organizations in Broome, Tioga, Chenango,
Delaware and Otsego counties.   Proposals
may be submitted for projects that support, develop and/or expand the skill set
of young professionals in our region and/or increase their involvement in the
community.  The deadline for applications
is Friday, September 6th.  Details on

A
new Siena College Poll of registered New York voters found that the majority of
New Yorkers say Governor Cuomo has made the state a better place since he took
office in 2011, the poll also found that his favorability and job performance
ratings currently match record lows.  New
York voters said Cuomo has improved the state by a 51 to 39% margin,  but his favorability ratings of 43% negative
and 50% positive matches his lowest ratings, his job performance rating of 34%
positive and 64% negative is his lowest ever.

State
Police arrested 40 year old Rachel Rose of Otego for Aggravated DWI, with a BAC
of .22%, plus Imprudent Speed and Moving from a Lane Unsafely.  A trooper was dispatched by Otsego County 911
to the area of Country Club Road in the town of Oneonta for a report of a vehicle
off the road.  The trooper located Rose
and her vehicle which was stuck in a drainage ditch.  Rose was processed and released on appearance
tickets returnable to the town of Oneonta court on August 6, 2019.

The

7:45 AM.  The Meeting will be held at The
Sidney Country Club and Golf Course.

Commerce announced that there 33rd Annual Golf Classic will be held on August
8th, at the Oneonta Country Club.

The 2019 edition of National Baseball Hall of Fame Weekend
starts today, with the annual Induction Ceremony on Sunday, July 21 at 1:30
PM.  This year’s inductees are the late
Roy Halladay, plus Edgar Martinez, Mike Mussina, Mariano Rivera, Harold Baines
and Lee Smith at the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown.   The complete schedule of events is available

The Algonquin Antique Auto Club will hold their

City of Oneonta is launching Round II of Downtown Improvement Fund applications
today, specifically for the creation of new, high-quality upper story housing
units. The Round II Information and applications will be available on the
City's website, oneonta.ny.us or by Delaware Engineering, at 432 8073,
Completed applications are due by July 12th.

Delaware County Public Health
and Friends of Recovery- Delaware Otsego, in conjunction with Sidney Memorial
Library and Andes Public Library, are offering free Narcan trainings to the
public. The training is open to everyone. Upon completion of the training, each
person will receive a Narcan Rescue Kit.
Free Upcoming Narcan Trainings will be tomorrow at 6:00 PM at the Andes
Public Library & Thursday, June 6th @ 6:00 pm at the Sidney Memorial Public
Library- Smart Community Room.
