The Chenango County Sheriff's Office arrested 38 year-old Zachary Lindow of Greene following an investigation into 2 separate incidents. Deputies responded Sunday to a reported domestic dispute in Greene, where Lindow allegedly subjected the victim to unwanted sexual contact and threats, he fled before deputies arrived, An arrest warrant was issued. On Monday deputies responded to a harassment complaint in Greene, also involving Lindow, he was located by the Broome County Sheriff's Office and he was turned over to the Chenango County Sheriff's Office and was charged with 2 counts of Aggravated Harassment, plus Sexual Abuse, 2 counts of Intimidating a Victim or Witness, he was was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. He will appear in court at a later date.


18 year old Kyle Whitmarsh of Dickinson is facing multiple charges following a motor vehicle theft in the Town of Fenton Monday. Broome County Sheriff’s Office Deputies observed a vehicle speeding out of the Red Apple parking lot, followed by another individual riding a minibike. Patrols located the minibike driver, who advised the deputies that his friend had stolen the car and driven to a nearby park, the owner of the vehicle also reported his vehicle was stolen. Whitmarsh was charged with Grand Larceny, Criminal Mischief, & Obstructing Governmental Administration, & face court action shortly.


The Susquehanna SPCA in Cooperstown is teaming up with the Bissell Pet Foundation this year, in an effort to get adoptable pets into their new homes, Susquehanna SPCA Executive Director Stacie Haynes told WCDO News hos the program works:

The Village of Sidney Spring Cleanup will begin Monday through Friday May 8th. Village crews will pick up Brush Piled neatly at curb, plus leaves, grass clippings, weed-stalks & hedge trimmings placed in open containers or clear bags. All items must be out to the curb by Monday morning at 7:00 AM for pick-up. The Village will also provide containers at the Village Garage at 28 Sherman Avenue on Friday & Saturday, May 8th & 9th, from 8 AM – 3 PM, for electronics like Computers, TV’s, Cell Phones, Microwaves, Gaming Devices, plus Metal and non-Freon appliances, Tires, as well as Freon containing appliances like refrigerators, freezers & air conditioners.


Amphenol Aerospace will hold open interviews for prospective job seekers, at the Northeast Classic car Museum Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Job seekers are asked to bring a resume to the event.


Governor Hochul announced action to protect survivors of domestic violence, by selecting 5 counties including Delaware county to participate in a 2-year Coordinated Community Response Pilot Program. The effort will be led by the State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, the initiative aims to help survivors access safety and support faster while ensuring accountability for offenders.

UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich will hold their 7th "Community Baby Shower" for expectant parents & families with newborns, on Saturday, spokesperson Melissa Stagnaro explains:

The Community Baby Shower will run from Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital, it is free and available for pregnant individuals, new parents, and families with babies up to 12 months old.

The City of Norwich has proclaimed today as Jan Papelino Day, with a ceremony today to honor his service as the Norwich Fire Department Chief from 2018, to today. Papelino talked to WCDO on his special day:

Papelino has served in the Fire Department since 1979, he also worked for 40 years with Unison in Norwich. Gerald Perry will take over as the Norwich Fire Chief.


State Police at Troop C responded today to the report of a vehicle with a windshield that shattered due to ice falling off of a tractor trailer on I-81. An investigation determined that a tractor trailer and a pick-up truck were traveling north on I-81 when a slab of ice flew off the tractor trailer and fell onto the pick-up behind it, the pick-up truck’s driver side front window and windshield were shattered, the driver tractor trailer did not stop, the operator of the pick-up truck, a 23-year-old male of Camden suffered hand and facial injuries, State Police remind Motorists to brush off snow and ice off their vehicles, The investigation is on-going.


The Binghamton Rumble Ponies announced the full 2026 Promotional Schedule for the 2026 season today. There will be 15 giveaways, 12 firework shows, 7 specialty jerseys, 3 appearances and a newly introduced drone show. Individual game tickets for the 2026 season will go on sale Monday, at 9 am online and in-person at the Visions FCU Starting Gate Box Office at Mirabito Stadium. The Rumble Ponies kick off the 2026 season in New Hampshire on April 3rd before returning home on April 7th to take on the Somerset Patriots.

The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 49 year old Kunga Gyamtso following an investigation of a sexual assault that occurred in the Town of Hartwick. Gyamtso is accused of subjecting a female victim to unwanted forcible sexual acts at his residence in the Town of Hartwick. Evidence was presented to the Otsego County Grand Jury which handed down an indictment for the arrest, for Rape & Criminal Sexual Act, Gyamtso was arraigned in the Otsego County Court and remanded to the Otsego County Correctional Facility on $40,000 cash bail or $400,000 partially secured bond. The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Vestal Police Department. .


2 more American Red Cross Blood Drives are being held today, one from 10:30 am. - 4:30 pm., at SUNY Delhi's Farrell Student & Community Center, another will be held in from 9:30 am. - 2:30 pm., at the DCMO BOCES Harrold Campus on State Route 206 in Trout Creek. State Police will be hosting a free child car seat check on Sunday, February 1, between 10 am. and 1 pm. at the Delhi Fire Department located at 140 Delview Terrace Ext. Delhi. Techs will Make sure your child’s car seat is properly installed and the right fit for their age, height and weight, they will check the car seat if there are any recalls and check its expiration. State Law requires that all children must be restrained in an appropriate child restraint system while riding in a motor vehicle until they reach their 8th birthday. Binghamton University Junior Jesse Findling of Massapequa Long Island earned a Golden Ticket to Hollywood after auditioning for American Idol's 24th Season. Findling received a standing ovation from judges Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood & Luke Bryan, his audition aired Monday on ABC, the "Hollywood Week" performances will air February 23rd.
