Binghamton University Junior Jesse Findling of Massapequa Long Island earned a Golden Ticket to Hollywood after auditioning for American Idol's 24th Season. Findling received a standing ovation from judges Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood & Luke Bryan, his audition aired Monday on ABC, the "Hollywood Week" performances will air February 23rd.

The Foothills Performing Arts Center in Oneonta has brought back "The Idol Kings" following a great show last year, Foothills Director Geoff Doyle comments:

Broome County Sheriff Fred Akshar announced expanded visitation hours with open visitation at the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility effective immediately. Visitations hours have been doubled to 30 hours per week, Monday – Friday from 12:30pm – 2:30pm and 6:30pm – 10:30pm, with no appointment necessary.

The 55th General Clinton Canoe Regatta begins today with an expended variety of events today. Regatta Chairman John Harmon said that the moved the Catskill Shed Company Dash For Cash to the Friday line-up:

The “Wall That Heals” has been set up in Neahwa Park in Oneonta & will be available for viewing after the opening ceremony at 6:00 tonight, through Monday afternoon. Fans can interact with the group at a pre-game meet & greet from 5:15 PM to 6:00 PM at NYSEG stadium, the singers will throw out the first pitch prior to the game and sing the National Anthem as a group. The American Idol Live! Tour opens on Tuesday, June 24 at the Broome County Veteran’s Memorial Arena.

The new season of “American Idol” began last week on Fox, with taped auditions from various venues.  Last week’s season debut featured 15 year old Kaitlyn Jackson of Norwich, performing her original song “Another Angel”.  Jackson told WCDO News about the experience, and the surprise of seeing herself on national television:

The next step for Jackson is “Hollywood Week” as she and 205 other hopefuls vie for the chance to become one of 30 finalists to compete for the next “American Idol”.
