Unadilla Fire Department responded Monday Night at about 10:45 PM to a reported structure fire in the area of Buckhorn Lake Road and State Highway 7. Responding Firefighters discovered a working fire on the 2nd floor rear of the residence. Unadilla crews along with Wells Bridge crews were able to gain entry and knock the fire down. No injuries were reported, other Fire Departments assisting included Franklin, Sidney Sidney Center & Otego, the cause of the fire is under investigation.

State Police arrested 19 year old Jeffrey Bullis of Unadilla, for Criminal Contempt, Stalking, and Criminal Trespass, after Troopers were dispatched to a report of a physical altercation at the House of Consignment on Main Street in Unadilla. State Police reported that Bullis violated an existing order of protection by entering the business, he is accused of grabbing and shoving a victim, causing the victim to strike a window and door frame, another person intervened & held Bullis down until troopers arrived. The victim went to Tri-Town Hospital for an evaluation of injuries that were sustained during the incident. Bullis was also evaluated at Tri-Town Hospital for a complaint of pain but was released and processed at Troop C, Bullis was issued appearance tickets to the Unadilla Town Court on January 23rd. The investigation is on-going, more charges are possible.
Unadilla Valley Central School District voters approved a $17.8 million capital project by a vote of 114 to 18. The renovations and improvements will be funded through state aid and an allocation from the district’s reserve funds. The project is expected to be budget neutral, with no anticipated impact on the tax levy.

State Police arrested 26 year old Peter Tarallo of Sidney for 2nd degree Assault, after Troopers were dispatched to a report of an assault at an apartment on State Highway 8 in the town of Unadilla. The troopers discovered that a victim was struck with a sauce pan over the head several times, leading to an injury. The victim was transported to Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich for further evaluation. Tarallo was located with the assistance of village of Sidney Police, he was transported to the State Police headquarters in Sidney and processed & was transported to the Otsego County Jail for Centralized Arraignment and Processing.

Unadilla Fire Department, Wells Bridge Fire Department plus Sidney EMS & Firefighters responded to a a 1 car Motor Vehicle Accident with entrapment Monday Afternoon at about 3:20 PM, personnel began extracting both patients, Life Net took first patient to Syracuse, the second patient was loaded in the Mercy Flight which lifted off to Syracuse at approximately 16:26.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 28 year old Darrick Reynolds of Unadilla following a traffic stop in the Town of Morris November 10th. Reynolds was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Uninsured, Uninspected & Unregistered Motor Vehicle & Improper Plates Reynolds was taken into custody and turned over to Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, he will appear in court at a later date.

Deputies arrested Browning for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, she will appear in the Town of Meredith court at a later date.

43 year old Ray Hyer of Unadilla was arrested in Ohio after he failed to appear in n Otsego County court earlier this year for sentencing on a criminal sexual act charge. Hyer was located in Sandusky, Ohio on October 21st, he was arrested and was extradited back to the Otsego County Jail, he faces additional charges on top of the original criminal sexual act conviction.

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer announced that Upstate New York will receive over $50 million in federal funding through the first round of the EPA's Clean School Bus Program to purchase over 130 brand new electric school buses. Delaware County Deputies were dispatched On April 29th to a report of a burglary at Herman’s Trailer Sales in the Town of Walton, followed by additional reports of larceny and burglary from the same location, The Investigation revealed that rare antiques and jewelry stolen from the Herman's property were sold for cash at a pawn Shop in Utica. Items were recovered from Utica, Sidney Walton, Unadilla & South New Berlin, Deputies arrested 39-year old Francis Lupo of Walton & 44-year-old Luke Lupo, of South New Berlin Petty Larceny, criminal mischief & Burglary Charges, and 33-year-old Mistyblue Decker of Hancock for criminal mischief and petty larceny. State Police arrested 35 year old Tadd Sherwood of Oneonta for 2nd degree attempted murder after he allegedly fired a shotgun in a residential area Saturday in the town of Unadilla, that could have caused the death of another person. Sherwood was arraigned and was remanded to the Otsego County Jail without bail pending future court action.

State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli's office audited the Unadilla Valley School District, the audit found that Officials did not establish Non-Residential Tuition rates for special education students as required, & the District’s rates exceeded the State Education Department’s maximum allowable rate during 4 of the past 5 school years. The District overcharged 7 school districts by a total of $183,250. District officials agreed with the recommendations to have the rates in line with state regulations & they planned to initiate corrective action.

Becker allegedly broke windows of the store and threatened the owner of the gas station with a golf club. He was arrested on scene by a trooper and was transported to Otsego County Central Arraignment and Processing.

The U.S. Department of Labor has ordered Valley Veterinary Associates on State Route 7 in Unadilla to pay over $90,000, in back wages, following an investigation into accusations that the company paid the regular hourly wage to employees for their overtime hours. The investigation also revealed that employee records that were inaccurate. 39 employees were ordered to be paid their proper back-wages.

The DeCutler brothers are being held pending Grand Jury Action, the investigation is ongoing.

The Associated Press reported today that New York’s new law barring sales of bullet-resistant vests to most civilians doesn’t cover the type of armor worn by Payton Gendron of Conklin, when he killed 10 people at a Buffalo supermarket, May 14th. Gendron wore a steel-plated vest, which stopped a bullet fired at him by a security guard in the supermarket. New York’s law restricts sales of soft bullet-resistant vests to people who work in law enforcement and the military, plus people in certain other professions that require protective gear, that list has not been finalized.
