Oneonta Police & State Police arrested 27-year-old Jason Cousins from Unadilla for Burglary, Attempted Robbery, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Assault, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property & Menacing, following a home invasion in Oneonta. Cousins is accused of displaying a stolen handgun, taking property & striking & injuring 1 of the victims. Cousins fled the scene and was apprehended and taken into custody, the investigation is continuing.

State Police arrested 33 year old Howard Archer of Unadilla for operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs and criminal possession of marihuana 5th, they also arrested 58 year old John Barkman of Sidney for unlawful possession of marihuana, after a vehicle stop when Archer was observed speeding on State Highway 8 in the Town of Unadilla. Police detected the odor of marijuana & a search of the vehicle and two occupants was conducted, they were issued tickets returnable to the Town of Guilford court on November 3rd.

State Police arrested 30-year-old Todd Hamilton of Unadilla for menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance, 35-year-old Nathan Diamond of Unadilla and 33-year-old Jodi Babcock of Sidney for criminal possession of a controlled substance on Thursday. Troopers responded to report of a two men fighting in a car in Preston. Hamilton was driving, he allegedly tried to stab Diamond with a knife, and Babcock called 911. The 3 were found to be in possession of heroin, they were arraigned in Town of Oxford court and were remanded to the Chenango County jail on bail pending court action Tuesday.
The Delaware County Sheriff's Office and State Police arrested 32-year-old Erin Harrington of Unadilla, on charges of forgery & petty larceny. Harrington is accused of stealing money from the Sidney Youth Football Program following a recent fundraising event. Harrington is further accused of then trying to cover up her theft by creating a fictitious document purporting to be from the Sheriff's Office to try to convince officials that the money had been stolen from the Harrington residence during a burglary that did not happen. Harrington was also issued traffic tickets charging her with operating an uninsured motor vehicle with a suspended registration. Harrington was and released on recognizance pending a future appearance in the Town of Sidney Court.

The "Camp Hope" Launch Party will be held Sunday, at the Unadilla Community Field Behind the Library from 12:00 Noon to 4:00 PM. The organization is looking to raise money for a dog training facility to be built in Sidney, to give Post Traumatic Stress Disorder service dogs to veterans free of charge. The Delaware County Sheriff's department arrested 31-year-old Sean Dingle of Queens on drug charges, following the execution of a search warrant in the Town of Sidney. The warrant was obtained following a 5-month heroin trafficking investigation conducted by the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, the Sidney Police Department, Delaware County Probation Department and the Broome County Special Investigations Task Force. Dingle was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to sell & Unlawful Possession of Marihuana after seizing 100 bags of heroin & a small amount of marijuana, that Dingle intended to sell at the Unadilla public fishing access lot in Sidney. Dingle was arraigned in Town of Sidney Court & was remanded to the Delaware County Jail without bail pending a future court appearance.

Emergency Crews from Unadilla responded this morning to a 1-vehicle rollover accident. The accident occurred East of exit 11 in the eastbound lane of I-88, officials said that it was only a property damage accident, with no injuries reported. Traffic was slowed through the area for the clean up & investigation.

Otsego County held its 18th annual Hazardous Waste Collection Day this past weekend. On Friday morning, a satellite event was held at the Unadilla Town Highway garage, where approximately 90 cars dropped of hazardous material. The main event was held on Saturday at the Meadows Office Complex with approximately 390 cars dropping off hazardous materials from estimated 400 households. A total of about 500 households took advantage of the free program.

State Police arrested 22-year-old Ryan MacPherson of Unadilla, for Menacing, Criminal Mischief, Resisting Arrest, Cruelty to an Animal, Harassment & Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. This arrest occurred after troopers responded to an Otsego County 911 report of a dispute at a home on Lockwood Road in the Town of Unadilla. An investigation determined that during a physical dispute with his mother and sister, MacPherson assaulted them and the family pet dog, smashed items, & refused to comply with troopers, who shot MacPherson once with a Taser. MacPherson was arraigned at the Town of Unadilla Court and remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $15,000 property bond.

Delaware County Sheriff Deputies arrested 26-year-old Dustin Sundal of Unadilla on 1 count of Reckless Driving. It is alleged that Sundal drove his motorcycle in a reckless manner, which resulted in a personal injury motorcycle accident, he will return to Town of Tompkins court at a later date.

State Police arrested 33-Year-old Jacob Perez of Brooklyn for Criminal Trespass & Harassment, after troopers had responded to a trespass complaint on July 13th at a home on Meadow Crest, in the Town of Unadilla. The investigation determined that Perez had walked into the home of a known woman without permission and began arguing with her. After a brief struggle with a man, who told him to leave, Perez fled the house and then drove away. He was located and arrested with a warrant. Perez was arraigned at the Town of Unadilla Court and released.

The Delaware County Department of Economic Development announced the results of the 2015 grant funding provided through the County’s Agricultural Micro-enterprise Program, which will encourage the investment of $625,000 and the creation of 28 new jobs. Local business receiving funding include Muddy River Hops of Sidney, which seeks to establish a New York State licensed Farm Brewery & on-farm processing plant. Also, Vulto Creamery of Walton will need to purchase a small custom milk hauling truck to transport the milk to their creamery, and create 2 more jobs, & Unadilla Hops will be opening a hop processing facility at their Sidney hop farm for the purpose of pelletizing and packaging hops for their farm and other local farms.

The Town of Unadilla crews are repaving Butternut Road this week. Repaving will be between 7:00 AM & 4:30 PM each day and the road will be closed at those times.
The next 4-chamber mixer will be held today, sponsored by the Bainbridge Chamber of Commerce. At the 6:00 PM at the Sundown Golf club on Hay Path Lane in Guilford. All members of the Sidney, Unadilla, and Afton & Bainbridge chambers are encouraged to attend.

State Police & the Sidney Village Police announced the arrest of 29-year-old Kristina Hyer of Unadilla, following a lengthy investigation involving the possession, forgery & use of stolen checks & credit cards. Hyer was charged with 4th & 5th degree criminal possession of stolen property, petty larceny, criminal possession of a forged instrument & forgery. Hyer was arraigned in Sidney village court and was remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $10,000 cash bail, pending future court action.

State Police at Sidney arrested 21 year old Nevin Cutting of Sidney Center, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a B.A.C. result of .21%. While at an accident scene a Trooper witnessed Cutting drive up and park very closely to the rear of an ambulance and stop, at the intersection of State Routes 7 & 8, in the Town of Unadilla. Cutting was issued tickets returnable in the Town of Unadilla Court on June 22nd.
