State Police responded to a 2 vehicle crash Thursday in Franklin. 34 year old Chyanne Allen of Downsville was airlifted to Albany Medical Center where she died from injuries sustained from the crash and from suffering with a brittle bone disease. Troopers responded to an accident on state Route 357 where 25 year old Christopher Delong of Unadilla was backing a delivery van into a driveway when 65 year old Robert Allen of Downsville attempted to avoid the van by veering into the opposite lane, he was unable to avoid the vehicle and a passenger-side collision resulted. Delong and a passenger were not injured. Robert Allen was not injured; 25 year old Savannah Miller was taken to Bassett Medical Center for chest pain.

State Police & Emergency crews from Sidney & Unadilla responded to a 2-car accident with injuries at Tryons Corners today. The accident occurred at around 12:00 Noon, with front-end damage reported on both vehicles, and at least 2 injuries were reported, one person was taken to Fox HOsiptal in Oneonta, another wwas taken to Wilson Hospital in Johnson City with non-life threatening injuries, the investigation by state police is continuing.

Santa will be appearing in Unadilla Saturday, with events starting at 9:00 AM with a Breakfast at the Methodist Church followed by Classic Christmas Movies at the Library. At 1:00 pm, The Parade line up on Sperry Street, at 1:30 pm, Santa arrives by Fire Truck at Community Center to meet with area children. Other Activities planned include Musical Performances by Unatego High School Band, & the Unadilla Rotary Club Basket Raffles. State Police arrested 22-year-old Nathan McDonald of Sidney for DWI, & Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, after a traffic stop on State Route 7, in the town of Unadilla. An investigation determined that McDonald was driving while intoxicated, & an inventory of his vehicle found that he unlawfully possessed a small amount of marihuana. McDonald was issued tickets returnable to the town of Unadilla Court on November 27th.

The Unadilla Town board is holding their next regular meeting this evening. The meeting will begin at 6:30 PM at the Town Hall at 1648 State Highway 7.

The Unadilla Public Library will feature a video screening of "Blissville, an Investigation" by video artist Hank Linhart of Brooklyn. The documentary outlines the former Queens New York Neighborhood that was incorporated into the neighborhood of Long Island City following the construction of a highway in the late 1930's. Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 1-car motor vehicle accident on County Route 23 in the Town of Walton. Deputies arrested 25-Year-old Anthony Masi, of Unadilla; he is accused of possessing a vehicle that was reported stolen out of the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office earlier in the day. Masi was charged with 2 counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Criminal Possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, plus Aggravated DWI, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation as well as other Traffic Violations. Masi was arraigned in the Town of Delhi Court; he was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Faculty in lieu of $20,000 cash bail pending future court action.

The House of Consignment in Unadilla will host their 2nd annual Tampon Drive on Saturday, Owner Kirsty Roefs explains:

The Cancer Services Program of Delaware, Otsego and Schoharie will offer free health screenings to women 40 or older who are uninsured/underinsured, in partnership with Bassett Healthcare. Oneonta Police served a search warrant Tuesday at 5 Myrtle Avenue, following an investigation of the sale and possession of Marijuana & the violation of an active order of protection. Arrested were 30-year-old Jason Harageones of Unadilla for Criminal Contempt, Criminal Possession of a controlled substance & Criminal possession of marijuana. Hargeones is also accused of causing damage to a surveillance camera, which led to an additional Criminal Mischief charge. Police also arrested 28-year-old Danielle Stoesser of Oneonta for Criminal Possession of a controlled substance & Criminal Possession of marihuana; she is also accused of engaging in a physical confrontation with the officers processing her arrest and was charged with Obstruction of Governmental Administration. Harageones was arraigned & remanded to the Otsego County jail without bail; Stoesser was issued an appearance ticket and released to appear at a later date.

Otsego County held its 20th annual Hazardous Waste Collection Day this past weekend. The satellite event in Unadilla served about 120 cars, the Meadows Office Complex collection served 522 cars dropping off hazardous materials. Pharmaceuticals and medications were collected free of charge again this year, with about 160 pounds collected for incineration.

The Tri Town Regional Hospital's 3rd Annual Health Fair will be held this Saturday at Keith Clark Park in Sidney, spokesperson Amy Beveridge explains:

The investigation into the actions by Otsego County Sheriff Rich Devlin's Son Ros, while serving as a Corrections officer at the Otsego County Jail, has been passed on to an investigative body for further scrutiny, Unadilla Representative Ed Frazier explains:

Ros Devlin was suspended earlier this year for allegedly making threatening remarks while on the job & was suspended & his firearms privileges removed.

State Police arrested 31-year-old Christen Young of Unadilla for Resisting Arrest, Stalking, Criminal Contempt and Harassment. Young allegedly violated a court order of protection, & she had been in a course of conduct that caused the protected person to fear for his employment and career. Young physically resisted being arrested and handcuffed; she kicked a trooper in the ankle at Police Barracks. Young was arraigned and was remanded to the Delaware county jail on $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 property bond. She faces action in Kortright, Unadilla & Oneonta courts shortly.

The State Office of General Services announced that a surplus vehicle, highway equipment, and miscellaneous property auction has been scheduled in Unadilla on Thursday, September 7th. The New York State MX Championship will be held at the Unadilla Valley Sports Center on State Route 8 in New Berlin this weekend. State Police responded to a 2 vehicle crash on State Route 7 in the town of Unadilla. An investigation determined that 92 year old Joseph Norton of Sidney was driving a Chevrolet Impala, eastbound on State Route 7 when he entered a sharp curve in the roadway and drifted into the westbound lane & struck a dump truck driven by 38 year old Jeffrey Haynes of Sidney head on. Norton was deceased at the scene. Haynes was airlifted to Albany Medical Center and was listed in critical condition. Haynes passenger, 40 year old Jackie Ryan of Mt. Upton was transported to Wilson Hospital and is in stable condition. An autopsy will be conducted at Lourdes hospital, the investigation is ongoing.

Tonight's Unadilla Concert has been moved indoors to the Community Center, due to the expected storm. The Concert will begin at 6:30 PM.

State Police responded to a Delaware County 911 report of a two vehicle crash with serious injuries on River Road in the Town of Sidney. An investigation determined that 39 year old Jason Cunningham of Unadilla was driving his 2005 vehicle on River Road when he entered a sharp curve and drifted into the opposing lane, striking a pickup truck driven by 35 year old Matthias Wesner of Unadilla. Cunningham was transported to Fox hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. An autopsy will be conducted at Lourdes hospital and the results are pending. Wesner received minor injuries in the crash. No tickets have been issued at this time. This investigation is ongoing.

State Police arrested 30 year old Jonathan Wilcox of Unadilla for 3rd degree Assault, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation, and Harassment, after troopers were advised of a physical dispute on July 12th in the town of Unadilla. Troopers accuse Wilcox of throwing his girlfriend to the ground and choking her. Wilcox was arraigned in the town of Unadilla court and was released without bail, he faces court action on August 14th.

The Unadilla Summer Concert series officials announced that, due to heavy rain in the forecast, tonight's concert has been moved indoors. The Concert will be held indoors at the Unadilla Community Center at 246 Main Street, starting at 6:30 PM.

Sidney, Unadilla & Masonville fire fighters responded to a fire at 80 Main Street in Sidney today at about 2:45 PM, in the basement of Ermeti’s Community Lounge. Sidney Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Ray Baker told WCDO News that the fire appears to have started in a dryer, & it was under control in about 30 minutes.

Commencement exercises for graduating High School Seniors will begin this evening at several area school districts. Graduation ceremonies scheduled for this evening include: CHARLOTTE VALLEY at 6:30, and at 7:00 PM for AFTON, FRANKLIN, UNATEGO, Milford, Morris, & Laurens.  Graduation ceremonies will continue Saturday morning WITH ceremonies for SIDNEY, Delaware academy in Delhi, Harpursville, Norwich, Greene, Walton, Gilbertsville Mount Upton, Oneonta, & the Oxford academy. The Unadilla Valley seniors will graduate starting at 2:00 PM & Bainbridge Guilford seniors will graduate at 7:00 PM. On Sunday, Edmeston seniors will graduate at 1:00 PM

The towns of Unadilla crews are working on paving Idumea road today. The road will be closed to Through Traffic until completion late this afternoon.
