The Otsego County Sheriffs department arrested 32 year old Robert Colvin of Unadilla, for allegedly breaking into a woman’s house, shoving the victim & stealing prescription medication, Colvin was charged robbery and grand larceny; Colvin was arraigned in the Town of Unadilla Court and was sent to the county jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Matthew Rose of Unadilla on a sealed indictment warrant issued by the Delaware County Court, at the time of his arrest, ROSE was in possession of a small amount of marijuana, ROSE was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, plus 2 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Narcotic, for allegedly selling prescription medications twice in the Village of Sidney. Rose was arraigned and was remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $40,000 cash bail or $80,000 secured bond.

State police responded to an Otsego County 911 report of a car-pedestrian accident on Main Street in Unadilla. 15 year old Edward McKinnely of Unadilla was walking with another person on the westbound shoulder of Main Street when he was struck by an SUV driven by 47 year old Michelle Swift of Unadilla Police said that the accident occurred on a dark roadway near the shoulder at about 5:30 PM Monday, Swift was not intoxicated or impaired by drugs. McKinnely was transported by LifeNet to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse with severe head and body injuries; he succumbed to the injuries earlier today.

Otsego county sheriff's deputies arrested 36-year-old Delphina Vance of Unadilla on a variety of drug charges, for allegedly possessing over 30 bags of heroin, plus marijuana & drug paraphernalia, and for driving with a suspended license. Vance was arraigned & was remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bong pending court action on Monday.

Delaware County Sheriff Deputies arrested 40-year-old Ian Lyle of Unadilla, on 1 count of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated following an investigation of 1car motor vehicle accident in May in the Town of Sidney. Lyle is accused of driving with a BAC of .20% following results of a Toxicology report. Lyle was released on a traffic ticket returnable to Sidney Town Court at a later date.

State Police at Sidney arrested 28-year-old Brenda Manwarren, of Unadilla for operating a motor vehicle while ability impaired by drugs. This arrest occurred after a trooper responded to a report of an impaired driver in the rear parking lot of the River Side Storage on State Route 7 in the Town of Unadilla. Manwarren's blood was tested for drugs, lab results are pending. Manwarren was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Unadilla court on September 5th.

State Police at Sidney arrested 22-year-old Christopher Brissette of Unadilla for felony of criminal possession of stolen property. The arrest occurred after a report of the theft of power tools in July from a residential garage in the Town of Unadilla. Brissette is accused of possessing a wood splitter valued at about $2,000 in the Town of Columbus. He was issued a ticket returnable to the Town of Columbus court on August 16th.

SEVERAL LOCAL PADDLERS TRAVELED TO MICHIGAN THIS PAST WEEKEND TO COMPETE IN THE 2ND LEG OF THE TRIPLE CROWN CANOE RACING SERIES. THE MICHIGAN RACE IS THE AUSABLE RIVER CANOE MARATHON AND COVERS 120 TOTAL MILES AS PARTICIPANTS EVEN PADDLE THROUGH THE NIGHT TIME HOURS. BEN SCHLIMMER OF ONEONTA WAS THE HIGHEST FINISHING LOCAL IN 6TH PLACE. TREVOR LEFEVER OF ONEONTA WAS 7TH. LARRY HARRISON ALSO OF ONEONTA TOOK 25TH AND THE TEAM OF MIKE PACKARD FROM OTEGO AND JEFF SHULTIS OF UNADILLA TOOK 34TH. State Police arrested 37-year-old Jeremy Lester of Endicott for operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without an interlock device plus several other traffic tickets. The arrest occurred after the suspect was observed moving from his lane unsafely while driving on State route 7 in the Town of Unadilla & without a court-ordered interlock device from a prior conviction. Lester refused to be tested for drugs, he was arraigned in the Town of Unadilla court and was remanded to the Otsego County jail on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 property bond pending court action on August 12th.

State Police arrested 23-year-old Jamie Schreiber of Otego, for DWI, following an accident on State Route 7 in the Town of Unadilla. Schreiber’s BAC was .14%; he was processed & is scheduled to appear in the Town of Unadilla Court on July 18th.

State Senator Jim Seward announced that community libraries throughout the 51st senatorial district have been awarded a total of $235,613 in public library construction grant funds. Locally, the Kinney Memorial Library in Hartwick will receive $25,035 to Replace old windows and add insulation, the Unadilla Public Library will receive $35,475 to Replace inefficient windows and light fixtures and interior renovations, the Village Library of Cooperstown will receive $23,327 for Interior renovations & the Worcester Free Library will get $23,606 for insulation.
