Tomorrow is Election day, All State voters will be voting for Clean Air & Clean Water Propositions, as well as those for amending the redistricting process, eliminating the 10 day Registration requirement & authorizing no excuse absentee balloting.
In the town of Sidney, 2 candidates are seeking to be elected Supervisor, and both are Write-In Candidates following the deaths of Sidney Town Supervisor Gene Pigford a few months ago. Republican Eric Wilson has served on the Town board for many years and has been part of holding the line on Taxes:

Attorney General Letitia James declared her candidacy for governor on Friday; she will face current Governor Kathy Hochul in Democratic primary next year. James help to bring down former Governor Andrew Cuomo following an investigation by her department into sexual harassment claims made by several women against Cuomo.
U.S. Marshals arrested a Georgia fugitive in Binghamton, who was wanted for a fatal shooting in Atlanta. Marshals arrested 21 year-old Dalonqueze Powell of Atlanta was arrested at a residence on Tracy Street in Binghamton, Marshals were assisted by State Police, Binghamton Police & several other agencies.
Governor Kathy Hochul reported that the numbers are slowly improving regarding COVID 19 in the state Saturday. over 166,000 were tested Saturday, with 3588 positives, for a positivity rate of 2.1% Patient Hospitalization are down to 1,842, the number of Patients in an ICU is down to 448 & the number on ventilators is down to 253, there were 26 deaths reported in hospitals & nursing homes Saturday.
Governor Kathy Hochul signed legislation designating a portion of State Route 51 in the Town of Butternuts as SP4 Richard F. Walton, Jr. Memorial Highway. Richard Walton, Jr. was born and raised in the Town of Butternuts, he underwent basic training and medical training after enlisting, he volunteered to go to Vietnam, On February 6th, 1970, while serving in Vietnam, Walton lost his life in a helicopter crash.

Governor Cuomo will activate the State Emergency Operations Center this morning at 10:00 AM to monitor the winter storm, which could produce moderate to heavy snowfall across a large portion of the state. There is a wind-chill watch with values from -30 to -40 degrees.
The Chenango County sheriff’s Office arrested 37-Year-old Jennifer Bishop of Frankfort For Aggravated DWI. Bishop Was located on state route 12 in the town of Sherburne operating a vehicle while consuming alcohol, her BAC was registered at 4more than 4 times the legal limit. Bishop was arrested & processed & was released to a sober 3rd party, she faces court action at a later date.
State Police investigated a two car double fatal head-on collision in the Town of Newfield. The investigation revealed that 19-year-old James Crosby of Van Etten lost control of his Chevy Monte Carlo and entered the opposing lane, striking a Jeep Grand Cherokee being operated by 31-year-old Samantha Aarnio of Spencer. Crosby was transported to Packer Hospital, his passenger, 20 year old Derek Nichols was pronounced deceased at the scene. Aarnio was transported to Packer Hospital for multiple injuries, one of her passengers; 67-year-old Kathy Lattimore was taken to Cortland Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased, and 32 year old Eugene Aarnio was transported to Packer Hospital for an arm injury. The investigation into the collision is continuing.
The Chenango county Sheriff’s department arrested 32-year-old Derreck Vosburgh of Utica on an active bench warrant for failing to register as a sex offender. Vosburgh faces court action shortly.
Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown will host a 2-day blood Drive. The American Red Cross blood drives will be held today from 12:30 to 6:30 PM, and tomorrow from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The blood drives will be at the Bassett Hall auditorium in Cooperstown, the Red Cross is partnering with Dunkin’ Donuts to provide a coupon for a free pound of coffee to all presenting donors. Registrations are requested at 547-3701, but walk-ins are welcome.
