Governor Cuomo signed a bill to increase protections for pets across New York State. The bill prohibits the piercing or tattooing of all pets, including cats and dogs, to protect the animals from unnecessary harm, yet still allows the use of piercing and tattooing for identification purposes only, or where the piercing provides a medical benefit to the animal & is performed by a licensed veterinarian. The law will take effect in 120 days; Senator Tom Libous of Binghamton sponsored it in the State senate.

The Chenango county health department will hold their last free rabies clinic of the year tomorrow. The clinic for dogs' cats & ferrets will be held at the Norwich fire station from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The Chenango County Health Department will hold a free rabies clinic today at the North Norwich Fire Station from 5:30 to 6:30 PM for dogs, cats & domesticated ferrets.

The Chenango county health department will hold a free rabies clinic today for dogs, cats & ferrets. The event will be held at the South New Berlin fire station from 6:00 to 7:00 PM more information is available at 337-1673.

Sidney Village Police arrested 51 year old Wesley Eignor of Sidney for 7 counts of failure to provide food & drink to impounded animals, in violation of State Agriculture & markets law. Eignor is accused of not providing food and & water to 3 dogs, 3 cats and a bird for an extended period of time, he was arraigned & will reappear in Sidney Village Court at a mater date.

The Binghamton Mets clinched their second straight postseason berth as a result of the New Britain Rock Cats' 10-1 loss to Richmond Thursday night. The berth marks Binghamton's 8th trip to the postseason in franchise history, winning the Eastern League Championship in 1992 and 1994.

Governor Cuomo signed a new law that bans direct contact between people and lions, tigers, leopards, jaguars and cougars. The "Tiger Selfie" bill, is also directed at roadside zoos that charge people for photos with big cats. The governor said despite any level of training, big cats have instincts to kill. The penalty is $500 for the first offense.

The Otsego county health department will hold a free rabies clinic today at the Morris fire department.  The clinic will run from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, for dogs 7 cats at least 3 months of age.

Delaware county public health will hold a free rabies clinic today in Walton.  The clinic will run from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Walton Town Highway Garage for dogs, cats & domesticated ferrets.

Delaware county Public Health will hold a free rabies clinic today in Masonville. The clinic for dogs, cats & domesticated ferrets runs from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Masonville Fire Hall

Delaware county public health will hold a Free Rabies Vaccination Clinic for dogs, cats, and ferrets today. The clinic will be held from 4:00 PM 6:00 PM, at the Pindars Corners Fire Hall on state route 23 in Davenport.

The next Chenango county free rabies clinic will be held today in Bainbridge.  The clinic will be held at the village highway garage from 5:30 to 6:30 PM for dogs, cats & Domesticated ferrets.

Chenango county health department will host another free rabies clinic Sunday for dogs, cats & domesticated Ferrets. The clinic will be held at the Norwich City Fire station from 9:30 to 11:30 AM.
