The benefit will be held at the Sidney American Legion Sunday from 12:30pm to 6:00 PM, Brenda has been out of work due to her health, and is faced with large medical bills, the benefit will feature food, beverages and live entertainment with Tumbleweed Highway, Woodshed Prophets, Fetish Lane, Kenyon Hill, $ 15 Donations are encouraged at the door.

The Delaware County Sheriff's Department & Sidney Village Police arrested 27-year-old Michael Nodine of Sidney on an Arrest Warrant for Attempted Assault. Nodine is accused of assaulting and attempting to cause physical injury to another inmate at the Delaware County Jail last week. Nodine was being held in the Jail on $5000 bail on a pending rape charge, posted bail on April 17th and was released from jail. The assaulted inmate, also from Sidney, sustained minor injuries, which did not require medical treatment. Nodine was arraigned on the Attempted Assault charge and was sent back to the Delaware County Jail on $1,000 cash bail.
The Town of Sidney Planning Board meeting is scheduled for tonight at 7 p.m. in the boardroom at the Civic Center on Liberty Street in Sidney. The public is welcome.

10 hazard mitigation projects are scheduled for federal funds for projects to get people out of traditionally flood prone areas. 1 of the projects is the Sidney Green Plain Project, Sidney Mayor Andy Matviak explains:

The Sidney Boys & Girls club is putting together fundraisers in conjunction with this year’s American Cancer Society Relay for Life event next month. Club Director Trish Tyrell said that the next fundraiser is tomorrow:

Sidney residents with homes in the 100 year flood plain should be aware of the state recovery housing programs, which can lead to buyouts of homes no matter the level of damage sustained. The programs can pay for repairs, rehabilitation or elevation; residents must apply by April 11th. State representatives will be available Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in the village office at the Sidney Civic Center; information is also available at stormrecovery.ny.gov.
