The new Clinic will be located at Foxcare in Oneonta with the latest State of the Art Equipment, all of the records for Vets who have been at the Bainbridge Clinic should be transferred over the weekend as crews get the new clinic ready to go Monday.


Otsego County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a property damage accident on Springfield Hill Road in the Town of Middlefield November 18th. 30 year old Katy Cole of Middlefield, is accused of fleeing the scene of the accident on foot, Deputies were able to track Cole down using the police canine, Cole was arrested & was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Refusal of breath screening test, Leaving the scene of a property damage accident, Failure to keep right & Failure to notify DMV of an address change, she was held at the Otsego County Jail for arraignment.


The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce and Delaware Opportunities will be asking people to donate toys for the annual Toys for Tots Campaign for another week, Chamber President Ray Pucci explains:

The toys will be picked up from all locations with collection boxes on December 8th, the toys will be distributed to Delaware County Families in Need.


Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a trespass complaint in the Town of Davenport last week. 73 year old George Sydlar is accused of cutting his neighbors barbed wire fence that was dividing their 2 properties. Sydlar was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief. He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Davenport Court at a later date.


Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested Nathan Clements of Chenango County following a traffic stop in the Town of Laurens. Clemens was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a motor vehicle, No distinctive plate, Failure to notify DMV of an address change & Disobeying a traffic control device, he was issued appearance tickets for Laurens Court at a later date.

The Chenango County Health Department is urging everyone six months and older to receive a flu vaccine as cases of influenza rise across the state. Statistics show that the flu season is ramping up early, with flu hospitalizations higher at this point in the season than they have been in a decade. Flu is also spreading at the same time as other respiratory illnesses, including RSV and COVID-19. The State Health Department reports increases in COVID 19 cases Tuesday. Over 81,000 were tests were conducted with 7,110 new positive cases, for a 7.86% positivity rate, Patient Hospitalization increased to 3,293, with more than 300 patients since Friday, there were 288 Patients in an ICU bed & 115 on ventilators, and there were 18 more deaths attributed to the virus Tuesday in Hospitals & nursing homes.

The State Department of Labor announced that the number of private sector jobs in New York State increased over the month by 17,400, to 8,061,000 in September, the 1st time the number has been over 8,000,000 since early 2020, prior to the start of the COVID 19 Pandemic. The State's unemployment rate decreased from 4.7% in August to 4.3% in September 2022.


The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce is again participating in the Annual Toys For Tots Campaign. Any Delaware County Business that is interested in becoming a ?'Toys for Tots' Collection Site, where the public can drop off new, unwrapped toys, should contact the Chamber soon at 607-746-2281. In December, Chamber staff will pick up the toys and deliver them to Delaware Opportunities, to provide distribution of the gifts to Delaware County families.


The Chenango County Historical Society announced that they are celebrating the 100th anniversary of The Raymond Corporation, at their annual Membership dinner at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, November 9th at 22 South Canal Street in Greene. The event combines the annual Society membership meeting with an exclusive viewing of The Raymond Corporation’s recently unveiled centennial exhibit. Governor Hochul announced this week that over $15.5 million is being invested by the State to expand child care access at State University schools. The funding includes $10.8 million to address child care weaknesses across SUNY campuses that have kept parents continuing their education.


Former Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the launch of a new podcast entitled "As a Matter of Fact … with Andrew Cuomo”, with the debut episode available today, with former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci, who served briefly in the Trump White House. Broome County Sheriff’s deputies responded Tuesday to a Town of Fenton residence, where they found 18 year old Gavin Marsh with a stab wound to his upper thigh, following a road rage incident on Upper Front Street. The other driver was identified as 50 year old Michael Seaman, who allegedly followed Marsh to his residence & engaged in a fist sight with Marsh & another teenager, before allegedly stabbing Marsh. Marsh was transported to Wilson Hospital for treatment. The Broome County Sheriff’s Office & the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office located Seaman in South New Berlin, he was taken into custody, he was been charged with Felony Assault and was turned over to Broome County Sheriff’s Office Correctional Staff.


The State Department of Labor' Southern Tier Region Virtual Career Fair is today from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, for job seekers in the Southern Tier Counties of Chenango, Delaware, Otsego & Broome counties, for those who per-registered.

Otsego County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Dollar General on State Highway 28 in Hartwick for the report of a vehicle running into a utility pole, where the driver fled the scene on foot. Deputies and Cooperstown Police located the driver , 40 year old Kevin Clapper of Fly Creek a short distance from the scene. Clapper was arrested and charged with Aggravated DWI; Leaving the scene of a property damage accident & Consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle among several other charges, He was issued appearance tickets to the Town of Hartwick Court at a later date.


The Binghamton Black Bears Hockey Team of the Federal Prospects Hockey League, will begin their new season Tonight at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton against Elmira. Team Announcer Brooks Hill said that the team is looking to improve on last year's accomplishments:

State Police are looking for 2 people who scammed a clerk at the Owego Speedway October 5th, by engaging in a series of purchases including lottery tickets and Visa cards, stealing over $3,693 from the store. The incident occurred on October 5, and it is believed the pair conducted a similar scam in Johnson City earlier that evening. They may be operating a white Ford sedan. Anyone with information is asked to call (607) 561-7400.


The Sidney Central School District Observatory will be open tonight from 9:00 to 10:00 PM, Weather Permitting. Several Telescopes will be available for viewing, the observatory is located behind the high school.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 35 year old Brandon Hill of Oneonta after patrols responded to the report of a fight in progress on September 12th, at 954 State Highway 205 in the Town of Oneonta. Hill was charged with Resisting Arrest, Criminal Mischief & Disorderly Conduct, he was processed and was released on an appearance ticket, Deputies also arrested 34 year old Michelle Mead of Oneonta following the investigation into the fight & trespassing complaint, she was charged with Resisting Arrest & Obstruct Governmental Administration. Hill & Mead will appear in Town of Oneonta Court to answer to the charges on October 6th.


Officials with NYSEG remind area residents about checking for identification if someone shows up claiming to be a NYSEG representative. NYSEG employees carry a company-issued photo ID with a unique employee number, customers should always ask for ID before providing personal or account information, or granting access to property. The announcement follows the arrest of 29-year-old Nicholas Denmark of Ithaca for 3rd degree burglary after he claimed to be from the utility & allegedly stole items once inside a residence.


State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli released his annual report regarding municipalities in fiscal stress. DiNapoli said that the city of Poughkeepsie was the only one with Significant Fiscal Stress, North Tonawanda was in Moderate Fiscal Stress, 5 were listed as susceptible to fiscal stress, none of the area towns, villages or counties made the list this year.

The National Weather Service investigators revealed that a tornado moved through the Walton area on Sunday September 25th. The tornado moved through between 6:38 and 6:41 pm. Tornado damage was located along Walton Mountain Road where trees fell in a convergent pattern, damage was also reported on Route 10 to an auto repair shop and the west branch of the Delaware River along South River Road. The Weather Service measured the tornado’s winds at EF0 to EF1.


The American Red Cross has scheduled blood donation opportunities today. One drive will be held in West Oneonta from 11:30 am. - 4:30 pm., at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 107 Balmoral Drive, another will be held at the DCMO BOCES on State Route 206 in Trout Creek, from 8:30 am. - 2:30 pm., Appointments can be made by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS


State Police responded on September 24th to the Oneonta Walmart after a report that a Samsung cell phone and wallet containing cash and cards were stolen. Both items were accidentally left in the women’s restroom, when the owner realized that they left the items behind, they returned to the restroom and could not find them. The cell phone and the wallet were later located inside the Grand Union in the town of Hartwick, the cash was not located. Former Governor Andrew Cuomo has filed an ethics complaint against state Attorney General Letitia James, regarding the sexual harassment investigation that led to Cuomo's resignation last year. Cuomo's lawsuit claims that James launched the investigation to tarnish Cuomo's reputation to further her own political interests. James briefly ran for governor after Cuomo's resignation and dropped out after a short period of time.


State Police arrested 19 year old Alec Hollenbeck of Lincklaen and 53 year old Duane Hollenbeck of Moravia after an investigation regarding ghost guns and large capacity ammunition feeding devices that are illegal in New York State. Both were charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Alec Hollenbeck was arraigned & was released on his own recognizance, & faces court action today, Duane Hollenbeck was arraigned and was released on his own recognizance, he appear in Lincklaen Town Court on September 20th.


State Police arrested 56 year old Francesco Carotenuto of Schenevus for Promoting Sexual Performance by a Child and Possessing Sexual Performance by a Child. An investigation revealed that Carotenuto was in possession of and promoting images consistent with child sexual exploitation via the internet. While at Carotenuto’s residence, Troopers observed seven adult dogs who did not have adequate food, water or shelter. The dogs were turned over to the care of the Otsego County SPCA. He was additionally charged with New York Agriculture and Market Law of Overdriving, Torturing, and Injuring Animals, a misdemeanor. Carotenuto was arraigned at Otsego County Central Arraignment and Processing and remanded to the jail on $20,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled at the Maryland Town Court on September 13, 2022.


The Broome County District Attorney’s Office announced that 58 year old Loretta Washington of Binghamton was sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison followed by 2 1/2 years of post-release supervision, after pleading guilty to attempted arson. Washington set fire to a doormat that was outside of an apartment last October in Binghamton, the fire was quickly extinguished and that there were no injuries.

State Police arrested 35 year old Tadd Sherwood of Oneonta for 2nd degree attempted murder after he allegedly fired a shotgun in a residential area Saturday in the town of Unadilla, that could have caused the death of another person. Sherwood was arraigned and was remanded to the Otsego County Jail without bail pending future court action.
