32 year old Michael Kimball of Binghamton was found guilty of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Endangerment, Criminal Mischief & Unlawful Fleeing A Police Officer In A Motor Vehicle, by a Broome County Jury Thursday. On February 26, Kimball led police from 3 different agencies on a chase through Binghamton and Port Dickinson while driving a stolen pickup truck. A relative of the owner of the stolen pickup truck tried to intervene by placing his own pickup truck on the street in order to stop Kimball from fleeing. The pursuit persisted, with Kimball apprehended in a wooded area, he faces sentencing on July 27th & faces up to 1 1/3 to 4 years in New York State Prison.
The Annual Gus Macker 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament will return to the Streets of Downtown Norwich in July 13th & 14th, after a few years at the Norwich high school complex, and the completion of the downtown water-main project & repaving, Organizer Tom Revoir comments:

The Village of Sidney Police Department arrested of 45 year old Harun Spence in connection with the Armed Robbery Friday Afternoon at Smiley's on West Main Street. Sidney Police, State Police & Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the scene, they uncovered evidence regarding the vehicle used to flee the crime. Saturday Night, Sidney Police & State Police found Spence & he was taken into custody without incident, a firearm & other evidence was recovered, Spence was charged with 1st degree Robbery, Criminal use of a Weapon, Grand Larceny & Menacing, he was transported to the Delaware County Central Arraignment Court, Sidney Village Mayor Ray Baker commended Chief Oliver & the Sidney Police Department:

The Sidney Police Department stated that the investigation is continuing, more charges may be pending.
42 year old Mary Cutting of Sidney was sentenced to 6 years of incarceration to be followed by 3 years of post-release supervision, for selling fentanyl and methamphetamine in the Village of Sidney. State Police performed 2 controlled purchases of illegal drugs from Cutting, A Delaware County Grand Jury returned a 2-count indictment for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, Cutting was sentenced to 3 years in prison with 2 years of post-release supervision, she requested multiple adjournments of her sentencing, she is accused of committing additional crimes during that time. Cutting was apprehended on April 8th, the DA's office moved to void the previous plea agreement & they requested the 6 year sentence.
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies will be sold to Diamond Baseball Holdings, a company that owns and operates select Minor League clubs affiliated with Major League Baseball. The Double-A Mets affiliate will continue playing at Mirabito Stadium as all front office staff remain in place, Richard Tylicki, will continue as General Manager.
Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado will delivers remarks at SUNY Oneonta's Extended & Community Learning Center Ribbon Cutting at the ExCL Center at 2 Dietz Street in Oneonta, Delgado is scheduled at 3:00 PM.

Delaware County District Attorney's office announced that 36 year old Thomas Wright, Jr., 31 year old Antonio Escobar-Boria and 28 year old Alexa Tefft, all of Sidney were indicted by the Delaware County Grand Jury last week on an 8 Count indictment. Wright is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance for allegedly possessing methamphetamine with the intent to sell, at 62 East Main Street in the Village of Sidney on September 14th 2022. All 3 defendants were accused of Reckless Endangerment and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, for allegedly permitting a 2-year-old child to be in close proximity to the drugs located at 62 East Main Street.
The Village of Sidney is continuing with their Water Improvement project, Village Mayor Andy Matviak said that the installation of Water Meters will begin shortly:

Matviak said that currently crews are working on running new lines under the Susquehanna River into the village to bring water from a new water source into the village, as the village is looking to remove the long standing Manganese problem out of the water supply.
Therapeutic and support services available through New York's Early Intervention Program for infants and toddlers with disabilities, has been ineffective as many young children did not receive services or faced delays in care. The Audit found that 51% did not receive all types of the therapeutic services to which they were entitled, About 28% did not receive authorized services within 30 days. and 3% did not receive any of their authorized therapeutic services.
Broome County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 31 year old Michael Kimball for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, plus many other charges, following a stolen vehicle pursuit in the Town of Dickinson Sunday. Deputies joined a pursuit of an SUV initiated by Binghamton Police, Kimball failed to stop and led police on a pursuit on Chenango Street, Kimball collided with a pickup truck that was blocking the road, which was placed there by Robert Parks of Binghamton, who was the owner of the stolen SUV. After the collision, Parks got into a scuffle with Kimball through the driver’s side window, Kimball reversed, dragging Parks along the pavement and colliding a second time with the Park’s truck, Kimball fled again, Deputies took him into custody a short time later. Kimball was issued 3 appearance tickets and 19 traffic tickets before being transported to Binghamton Police to face separate charges, he faces action in the Town of Dickinson Court at a later date.

Hancock Fire Department responded early Monday morning to 57 East Main Street for a structure fire, occupants escaped, but 2 firefighters received minor injuries & were treated at the scene. Hancock received mutual aid from Deposit, East Branch Fire, and Northern Wayne Fire departments. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The Red Cross has 3 Blood drives today, one in Sidney from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Sidney Elks Lodge, at 104 River Street, one in Gilbertsville from 2:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m at the GMU Central School, & one in Laurens at the Fire Department from 1 p.m. - 6 p.m., appointments can be made at RedCrossBlood.org, downloading the Red Cross Blood Donor App, or calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
