Delaware County Sheriff Craig DuMond announced that in observance of New York State Sheriff's Week, the Delaware County Sheriff's Office will be hosting an Open House event on Sunday, September 21st, 2025, from 12pm-3pm at their office located at 280 Phoebe Lane, Delhi. Live demonstrations will be conducted by the K-9 Teams, Drone Pilots, Project Lifesaver Team, and our Motor Vehicle Accident Reconstructionist, plus Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians from Delaware County Public Health will conduct a Car Seat Safety event.
The 10th Annual Autumn Market by 607 Events Connection (https://www.facebook.com/groups/6zero7eventshare/) will be held at General Clinton Park Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Over 70 vendors are participating including farmers, crafters, Artist, there will also be children's activities
The Unadilla Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual dinner & Awards Ceremony on Sunday October 5th, at Far View farm Unadilla Chamber President Jackie Carey said that tickets are still available:

Carey said that the Business of the Year Award goes to Village Variety & the Committment to Community award goes to Cat Johnson.
The Sidney Central School District's Homecoming will be held Saturday Night with a "Spirit Night" with a variety of activities, Spokesperson Rachel Swain explains:

The 15th Annual Sidney Center Tractor Parade will be held this Saturday beginning at 12:00 Noon. There is no fee to participate, there will be entertainment, raffles, the Sidney Center Fire Department will be selling barbecue chicken, more information is available at 369-9074 or 607-610-4098.

40 year old Mark Archer of Sidney pleaded guilty to 3 counts of Sexual Abuse in Delaware County Court Thursday. Archer was indicted by a Grand Jury on 12 counts related to sexual abuse against 3 victims were less than 13 years old between 2013 and 2019 in the Village of Sidney, Archer will be sentenced to 13.5 years in state prison and 30 years of post-release supervision, he will be required to register as a sex offender after prison & he is prohibited from contacting his victims.
Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 18-year-old Kayden Wilcox of East Meredith, in June, Deputies received a complaint that a male subject was in possession of child pornography, Investigators responded to a residence in the Town of Kortright to seize electronic evidence. Wilcox was in possession of obscene sexual material of a child, the Sheriff’s Office arrested Wilcox on 1 count of Possessing an Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child, he was released on an appearance ticket and directed to return to the Town of Kortright Court at a later date.
Mohawk Valley Gives, an annual one-day on-line fundraiser, returns today, it is hosted locally by the Community Foundation of Otsego County, where more than 80 participating Otsego County nonprofits will have the opportunity to raise funds with a secure online platform. Community Foundation Director Jeff Katz explains:

38 year old Mark Archer of Oneonta was indicted for 12 felonies and arraigned in Delaware County Court Wednesday for alleged sexual crimes against children. The Indictment accuses Archer of 3 counts of Sexual Abuse, 2 counts of 1st degree Rape, as well as Criminal Sexual Act & 4 counts of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child. Archer was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility on $75,000 cash bail, or $750,000 bond. The case is scheduled for a conference on October 30th.
Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 21 year old Bryce Barnhart of Cortland following a motor vehicle pursuit which began in the Town of Springfield and continued into Schoharie County on Tuesday. Barnhart was charged with Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer, Failure To Comply, Reckless Driving & Speeding & Speeding in a Construction Zone, he is accused of traveling up to 118 miles on U.S. Highway 20 in the Town of Springfield, & for hitting another vehicle while exiting a parking lot. Barhart was processed and released on an Appearance Tickets in both Counties at later dates.
Upgrades are continuing & fundraisers are being planned to benefit the Sidney Veteran's Memorial Park on River Street in Sidney, Park spokesman Doug Barnard explains:

Upcoming fundraisers include the splitting of the concessions with the Ti-Town Theater when they perform the "Music Man” October 20th to the 22nd, as well as a Bowling Fundraiser at East Main Lanes in Sidney November 4th, 5th, 11th & 12th, & their annual Golf Tournament next June at the Sidney Golf Course. A Halloween Pets Costume Parade will be held Friday @ 6:30 pm at the Bishop lot in Unadilla, the parade starts at 7:00 pm to the Unadilla Public Library. Fees collected will benefit Delaware Valley Humane Society.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 37 year old Sarah Stevens of Oneonta following an investigation of contraband found in the correctional facility. Stevens was charged with 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Control Substance & 2 Counts of Promoting Prison Contraband, she was being held pending centralized arraignment.
A Meet the Candidates event will be held tonight for Guilford Town Candidates & Constituents. The meeting will be held at the Guilford Town Hall on Marble Road from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.
