group, which is also known as HALos, announced that they are purchasing the
former Afton Great American building.
HALos purchased the building at an auction in June, closing is
anticipated in late July or August, plans call for some of the space to be used
by HALos, and additional space can be rented out to interested businesses
following renovations. Donations like building supplies, paints, or gift
certificates will be accepted, more information is available at 639-4256 or

of changing the zoning laws to allow the business to continue at their current

deserves recognition for the Quality of Life Award, which is given to a
business, involved in the community and has made Otsego County a better place
to live and work. The second award is the Environmental Stewardship Award which
is for businesses, industries or organizations that have implemented programs
or projects that have had a positive environmental impact on Otsego
County. Nominations should be submitted
by 5:00 pm Thursday, July 18. The
winners will be honored at the Summer Soiree on Thursday, August 22nd.

decided to bike across country from San Diego California to St. Augustine
Florida to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Curley talked to WCDO About this fundraiser
