A review of the Oneonta Police Department’s actions, following the recent death of a man in custody has been completed by the Oneonta Police Department & the Otsego County District attorney's office. Oneonta Police had a search warrant for a city residence & to perform a strip search of 52-year-old Kenneth Faulkner of New Rochelle, following a lengthy drug investigation. Faulkner resisted the efforts of 4 officers; he swallowed a packet of cocaine, which led to his death several hours after the struggle on November 2nd. The results of the department’s report have been submitted to state officials.
The Bainbridge Guilford Girls Volleyball Team plays in the State Class D Semi-Finals tomorrow in Glens Falls. Bobcats Head Coach Tami Selfridge told WCDO that the school and the community have rallied around this team:

State Senator Fred Akshar and Assembly Members Donna Lupardo and Cliff Crouch have released answers to the many questions posed by the community regarding the planned repurposing of the former Broome Developmental Center to bring new Addiction Treatment Services to the community. The document compiles questions raised at the October 26th Town Hall Meeting, with answers from the Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services, Syracuse Behavioral Health, the Broome County Department of Social Service and the Broome County Health Department. Officials with the Jericho Arts Council announced that the concert originally scheduled for Saturday night has been cancelled. The Council had scheduled Tony Holt & The Wildwood Valley Boys for Saturday night, a new date for a make up show has not been announced.
State Police CNET & Binghamton Police executed a federal arrest warrant on Troy Clark of Whitney Point, as part of a federal indictment charging Clark with manufacturing Methamphetamines. Police discovered a meth lab with 30 “one pot” vessels, various methamphetamine laboratory components, a loaded 12 gauge shotgun & a Small amount of marihuana. Police arrested Orion Tanzini of Kirkwood, Brittany Clark of Whitney Point, Jamie Wilson of Whitney Point, Brian Mirra of Chenango Forks, along with Clark. A search warrant was also executed for Charles McNeilly, of Whitney Point, where police again seized meth making materials & arrested Thomas Cole of Whitney Point, Ashley VanOstrand of Whitney Point, along with McNeilly. All face court action shortly, the investigations are continuing and additional charges are pending.
The Delaware County Solid Waste Management will hold an open house at the Solid waste center in Hamden tomorrow morning. Solid Waste Coordinator Sue McIntyre explains:

The Bainbridge Girl Scout service unit 365 is having their community giveaway tomorrow from 9:00 Am to 12:00 Noon. Residents can drop off gently used items today from 4:00 to 6:00 PM or early Saturday from 8:30 to 9:00 AM. On Saturday, All items are free to take, at Greenlawn elementary school in Bainbridge. New York’s statewide unemployment rate decreased from 4.9% to 4.8% in October, according to preliminary figures released today by the New York State Department of Labor. Private educational and health services added the most jobs (+51,900) of any major industry sector over the past year. Manufacturing lost the most jobs (-17,100) of any major industry sector in New York State, other losses were concentrated in durable goods (-12,800), especially fabricated metal products (-3,200).
Bassett Healthcare Network is currently holding their annual "Coats for Kids" event. Interested residents can drop off new or gently used children's coats at Bassett Healthcare Network locations or at any First Choice Cleaners before Monday. The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office executed a “no knock” search warrant in South New Berlin, following a lengthy investigation into the sales of heroin and cocaine. 39-year-old Jennifer Perrotti was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Nuisance, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The Narcotics Division recovered cocaine and heroin from within the residence as well as packaging material and scales, Perrotti was arraigned in the Town of Columbus Court and remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $15,000 cash bail. She is expected to return to the Town of New Berlin Court at a later date.

In the southern tier counties, unemployment decreased by 6/10’s since April of last year.

Chenango county sheriff’s department arrested Ganesh Remy Ramsaran of New Berlin, in connection with the murder of his wife Jennifer, who was reported missing December 11th of last year by her husband. Jennifer Ramsaran was found dead in February in the Town of Pharsalia in a wooded area. WCDO will have further details as they become available.
The State Office of Emergency Management continues to monitor effects of the earthquake that occurred this morning near Ottawa, Canada, and was felt throughout parts of New York State. There have been no reports of damage to any of the state’s critical infrastructure. No injuries were reported.
Mollianna's Mission is holding their 2nd Annual Family Day Festival tomorrow at General Clinton Park in Bainbridge. The event starts at Noon with musical acts, arts & crafts, vendors, with the full schedule at familydayfestival.org. Governor Cuomo asked pro gas groups to do more to allay the fears of the public with regard to misconceptions about natural gas development. The Joint Landowners Coalition of New York will host an event regarding water & health issues & the state proposed gas-drilling regulations, at the Legislative Office Building in Albany, on Thursday, May 30th from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. A panel discussion with gas drilling & health experts is scheduled, followed by a question & answer period.

Deputies responded to the report of an intoxicated woman who had driven to a Norwich business. Wells was released on appearance tickets and is to appear in the Town of Norwich Court at a later date.
