State Troopers arrested 26-year-old Justin Mullen of Harpursville, for Driving While Intoxicated, following a Motor Vehicle accident at North Road and Dodd Road in Thursday in Windsor. Troopers accuse Mullen of driving off the road & striking a concrete culvert, he was trapped in the vehicle and was removed by members of the West Windsor, Windsor and 5 Mile Point Fire Departments utilizing the Jaws of Life. Mullen was airlifted to Wilson Regional Trauma Center in Johnson City, for multiple internal and external injuries. Mullen was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Windsor Court at a later date.

Windsor Firefighters & those from surrounding communities were called to a 2 alarm blaze at about 10:00 AM, at an apartment building at 1075 Old State Route 17 this morning. Firefighters knocked down the blaze quickly, all occupants escaped without injury. The Windsor Fire Department was assisted by firefighters from West Windsor, Deposit, 5 Mile Point, Binghamton & Harpursville with Afton on standby, Broome County Fire Investigators are working to determine the cause.

The national weather service investigators will be out again today looking to confirm more tornadic activity from yesterday’s storms. One possible tornado appeared in Watkins glen, funnel clouds were reported in Binghamton, West Windsor, Windsor and Susquehanna County in Pennsylvania.
Motorists are advised that the Prospect Street westbound lane will be closed at the Prospect Connector Road. Crews will be performing excavation and embankment work the Prospect Connector Road between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. today & tomorrow. Flag personnel will guide alternating one-way traffic through the work zone. This work is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, weather permitting.

State Troopers arrested 34 year old Craig West of Windsor for 3rd & 4th degree Criminal Mischief 3rd, Disabling Equipment to Prevent Request for Emergency, & 2nd degree Harassment. The arrest resulted from a complaint in Windsor, where West has allegedly engaged in a physical altercation, and smashed a phone that the victim was using to get help from Police, damaged other property and injuring the victims head & jaw. West apprehended and arrested, he was arraigned in the Town of Colesville Court and remanded to the Broome County Jail on bail, an order of protection has been requested against him.
