State Troopers in Binghamton arrested 44-year-old Robert Snedeker of West Windsor for Felony DWI. The arrest resulted from a traffic stop on I-81 in Binghamton; Snedeker was arraigned in the Town of Conklin Court and remanded to the Broome County Jail without bail.

The Delaware County Sheriffs Deputies were dispatched to a 1 Car Personal Injury automobile accident on State Route 206 in the Town of Walton. 33-year-old Erin Serra of Walton was traveling west on State Route 206 when she lost control of her SUV & struck a snow and earth embankment. Investigators determined that icy road conditions were the cause of the accident, & that excessive speed was NOT a factor. Serra was transported to Delaware Valley Hospital, where she was treated & released.
State Troopers arrested 44-year-old Richard Phillips of Windsor, for Petty Larceny. The arrest resulted from a complaint at a market in Kirkwood, Phillips was arraigned in the Town of Kirkwood Court and remanded to the Broome County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.

State police have arrested 45-year-old Jose Gonzalez of Windsor following a 7-hour stand off yesterday on Bennet road in Windsor. Police responded to the report of a domestic dispute, where Gonzalez allegedly threatened 2 people with a rifle and barricaded himself inside. Police entered the home and found Gonzalez hiding in a closet, he is charged with menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child & faces court action shortly.

The fire was reported at about 2:30 PM at 22 Steam Mill Road in the town of Deposit, with firefighters from Deposit, Windsor, Masonville, Trout Creek Harpursville, Oquaga & Hancock assisting. The fire was extinguished with in a half hour, with damage mainly in the basement; the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The centers for disease control in Atlanta Georgia reported today that new government figures show that flu cases are leveling off nationwide. Flu activity is declining in most regions although still rising in the West. Hospitalizations and deaths spiked again last week, especially among the elderly. The CDC reported that 8 more children have died from the flu, bringing this season's total pediatric deaths to 37. About 100 children die in an average flu season. New York state health department officials still advise that those who have not yet received a flu vaccine, and who have not suffered with the flu, should still arrange to get a flu shot soon.

Firefighters responded to 55 Riley Road in Windsor this morning. The fire was reported at around 9:00 AM crews from Windsor and West Windsor responded, 2 adults and a toddler escaped, however 3 family dogs died in the blaze. A faulty basement Wood Stove may have caused the fire; cold temperatures hampered fire fighters.
