Bassett Healthcare Network has instituted temporary masking requirements across all its facilities per COVID-19 safety guidelines. All patients, visitors, employees, students, and volunteers are now required to wear medical-grade masks across all Bassett campuses, outpatient clinics, school-based health centers, administrative offices, Masks will be available at entrances. The mandatory masking requirement will be reassessed in 1 week. As Bassett's employees continue to have a higher number of COVID cases above their threshold.


The Broome County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking for Andrew Green on an outstanding warrant for Violation of Probation for Criminal Contempt and asking the residents of Broome County for assistance. Lawmakers will receive the Governor's Executive Budget proposal next week, they will have until April 1st to get the budget passed on time.

Hundreds of NYSEG customers were still without power this afternoon, in the WCDO listening area, due to last night's storms with high winds leading to downed tree limbs & power lines, over 2400 customers were without power early this morning, the number was about 370 this afternoon, crews will continue to work until all the power is restored


The Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 30 year old Tyler Culver of Otego following the execution of a search warrant on Saturday. Culver faces multiple counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. Last Fall, members of the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office and Oneonta Police Department initiated a joint investigation in to the suspected sales of narcotics from Culver's residence in the Village of Otego, on Saturday, with the assistance of the State Police, a search warrant was executed & they seized suspected narcotics & packaging materials, he was also arrested in connection with a shooting incident Saturday In Otego, remains in the Otsego County Correctional Facility to await centralized arraignment on the narcotics charges.

37 year old Paul Fontana of Delhi was indicted & arraigned on a 27 count indictment last week, he is accused of possessing weapons, ghost guns, a 3d printer to make ghost guns, & for selling the illegal weapons, plus he was accused of possessing oxycodone, and for menacing an individual, after Delhi Police, The Delaware County Sheriff's office executed search warrant on New Year's Day, Delaware County Sheriff Craig DuMond announced what was confiscated at a press conference Friday:

Fontana is being held pending further court action.


State Police announced that 106,509 tickets were issued statewide, as part of the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over traffic enforcement period from December 13, and ended Monday, January 1, 2024. State Troopers arrested 510 people for DWI and investigated 3,210 accidents, which resulted in 420 people being injured and five fatalities. In Troop C, troopers had 1077 tickets for speeding, 37 for DWI, 57 for distracted driving 24 violators for the Move Over Law & a total of over 2700 tickets during the enforcement period.


The Delaware County Sheriff's Office announced that a traffic stop in Margaretville resulted in the arrest of 39 year old David Blank of Phoenicia for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. Blank was issued traffic tickets for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and unsafe tires, he was released on appearance tickets and directed to appear at the Town of Middletown court to answer the charges.

State Police have arrested 3 people in connection with a shooting Saturday morning at 309 Main Street in Otego. Arrested were 32 year old Sara Baker of Davenport, for murderous intent, 51 year old Jovanni Salinas of Orlando Florida for Murderous intent, & 30 year old Tyler Culver of Otego for Reckless Endangerment, Criminal possession of a weapon, Possession of a firearm with a previous conviction, & Loaded Firearm, all 3 are being held pending future court action.


Broome County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 36 year old Nathan Pixley in the Town of Colesville. Pixley had been sought by law enforcement for several days following a domestic incident in the Town of Fenton on January 2nd, A deputy successfully developed information based on a tip from community and located Pixley hiding in a residence in the Town of Colesville. Pixley was charged with Strangulation, Criminal Contempt, Criminal Mischief, Endangering the Welfare of a Child & Harassment, he was arraigned and was remanded to the Broome County Correctional Facility.


State Police arrested 32 year old Ariela Thran of Granby, for the murder of 62 year old Patricia Halverson of Solon. Thran is charged with 2nd degree Murder, she was arraigned at the Cortland County Centralized Arraignment & was remanded to the Cortland County Correctional Facility without bail. She is scheduled to appear in the Solon Town Court on January 17. On January 3, 2024, Halverson was found deceased outside her residence at 4425 Wildman Road, State Police encourage anyone with information to contact State Police at (607)561-7400.


Attorney General Letitia James announced that Joshua Powell, a former National Rifle Association Executive Director of Operations and Chief of Staff to recently resigned NRA Executive Wayne LaPierre, has reached a $100,000 agreement with her office. Powell was 1 of 5 defendants in a lawsuit brought by the Office of the Attorney General against the NRA and senior management in August 2020. The trial of the claims against the NRA and the remaining defendants will begin today.
