The Otsego County Fair will have a concert on Friday night at the fairgrounds in Morris in August 5th. Fair Spokesperson Lisa Jones explains:

The Binghamton Senators Announced today that head coach Luke Richardson will not return next season after coming to a mutual agreement with the organization to vacate the position to pursue a new opportunity. Richardson led the B-Sens to two playoff appearances in four seasons behind the bench.
Governor Cuomo today launched the "No Empty Chair" teen driving safety education and enforcement campaign to raise awareness of highway dangers during prom and graduation season. State and local law enforcement will participate in the week-long, multi-agency campaign starting today through this Friday. The campaign will target specific infractions throughout the week, including Speeding in school zones, Seatbelts and child restraints, Cell phone use and texting, school bus safety & Underage drinking and impaired driving.
State Police arrested 28 year old Bryon Hoblin of Afton for 3rd degree Assault & endangering the welfare of a child. Troopers responded to a Chenango County 911 report of a father and son physical dispute at Algerine Street in the Town of Afton, Hoblin allegedly punched his father in the face and knocked him out, while a child was watching. Hoblin was arraigned in the Town of Afton Court, where he pled guilty and was sentenced to 6 months at the Chenango County jail.
Broome County Sheriff David Harder reminded the area public today that they are still looking for Brenda Halpin of the town of Chenango. Halpin is a 37 year old white female, only 5 foot tall & weighing about 90-95 pounds. She was last seen wearing pajamas and may have on a black coat and sneakers. She has long brown straight hair and wears glasses. Brenda suffers from Huntington’s disease which affects her physical abilities including walking normally. Halpin was last seen at her residence on Poplar Hill Road in Chenango Bridge on Friday, April 8th, Anyone with any information is urged to call the Broome County Sheriff’s Office at 778-1911.
36 Year old Rafael Figueroa of Margaretville was sentenced in Delaware County Court to 9 years of in prison he was arrested in December of 2014 by the Delaware County Sheriff's Office for 3 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, following a year and a half long investigation, for trafficking of cocaine. Figueroa was found guilty of all charges, & was sentenced to 3 consecutive 3-year prison sentences, post release Parole & he was also ordered to pay $525 restitution.
The Johnson City Police Department invites the community to pay tribute to fallen Officer David Smith by donating blood at a special blood drive in his memory today. Smith was killed in the line of duty 2 years ago while responding to a 911 call. The Blood Drive is today from 1:00 to 6:00 PM, at 308 Main Street, Johnson City, to make an appointment to download the Blood Donor App, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org.
State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced that his office has created a Hotline to help resolve a range of issues encountered by voters at the polls for the primary on Tuesday. Voters experiencing problems can call the office’s hotline at 800-771-7755 or email civil.rights@ag.ny.gov at any time between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Commerce Chenango will hold a Legislative Luncheon with Senator Fred Akshar today, at Fred's Inn, on State Route 12 Norwich. Registration is from 12:00 to 12:30, The Lunch and Program runs from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m.

The Constitution pipeline is expected to traverse the southern tier along the I-88 Corridor from Pennsylvania into the New England markets, with local availability to Am phenol in Sidney among others, along the route.
State Police arrested 35 year old Andrew Adams of Oneonta for 2nd degree Assault, 4 counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated with children under the age of 16, 4 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, Driving while ability impaired by drugs, plus harassment & several other traffic violations. This arrest occurred after an Otsego County 911 report of an erratic driver on Interstate 88 westbound who crashed into a guide rail near mile marker 33 in the Town of Sidney. Adams had his four children ages 8-12 in his car with him, with No injuries were reported. Adams also became disorderly and punched at troopers during processing. Adams was arraigned at the Town of Sidney court and was remanded to the Delaware County jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail or $15,000 property bond. His next court date in the Town of Sidney is on February 26th.
The Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 32 year old Jeremy Morris of Oneonta & 24 year old Amanda Tolbert of Oneonta on a variety of charges in Cooperstown on January 13th. Morris was driving without a license, when he was stopped deputies found hypodermic needles, drug packaging materials, two firearms & ammunition, he was also accused of selling heroin in Oneonta. Morris was charged with Possession of a hypodermic instrument, Criminal possession of a weapon, Criminal contempt, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, & Criminal sale of a controlled substance, he was returned to the Otsego County Jail on $50,000 cash bail and $100,000 bond. Tolbert was charged with possession of a hypodermic instrument & she was wanted on an active Family Court arrest warrant. Tolbert was arraigned in the Town of Otsego Court and taken to the Otsego County Jail on $1,000 cash bail.

The American Cancer Society Relay for Life announces an information team captain meeting will be held on February 1st at the United Methodist church in Sidney. The meeting will begin at 5:30 PM. 36 year old Rafael Figueroa, of Saugerties was convicted Friday of felony drug trafficking following a trial in Delaware County Court. The jury deliberated for about 30 minutes before reaching its verdict, Figueroa was found guilty of 3 felony charges of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance for trafficking of cocaine into Town of Middletown. Figueroa was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility without bail pending sentencing.
Otsego County Sheriff's Department along with other law enforcement agencies arrested 45 year old Harry Edmond of Oneonta on a variety of drug charges. Edmond is accused of selling marijuana and crack cocaine; He attempted to flee when officers executed a search warrant. Officers seized 9 1/2 pounds of processed marijuana, a small quantity of crack cocaine, an electronic digital scale, a stun gun and $16,852 in cash. Edmond was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of marijuana, criminally using drug paraphernalia & criminal possession of a weapon.
State Police investigated the report of a forcible rape in the Town of Union. 31 year old Joseph Mancini of Endwell was arrested for 1st degree Rape & Criminal Sex Act; Mancini was arraigned in the Town of Union Court and remanded to the Broome County jail without bail.
The Unadilla Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 4-Chamber mixer on Monday, January 25th at the Unadilla House Restaurant, Main Street Unadilla. Social/appetizers at 6 pm. Brief reports from the chambers will be given.

U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer met with Sidney Officials Saturday at the civic center, to discuss the Sidney flood plain project:

The plans to buy out & relocate resident from the flood prone River Street area over to the Plankenhorn road are continuing, the town & village board are working to annex that area into the village limits, the cost of the project is about 22 million dollars.
The Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 35-year-old Rafael Figueroa of the town of Roxbury with 3 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, following the unsealing of a grand jury indictment Thursday. Figueroa is accused of selling cocaine in Margaretville, he was held in the Delaware County Correctional Facility on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bail bond. Figueroa has a prior felony drug conviction, & could face up to 12 years imprisonment for each of these drug sales.
State Senator Tom Libous is calling on the New York State Gaming Facility Location Board, and the Governor to reconsider the Southern Tier's 2 applications for the fourth authorized casino license, at a press conference Friday in Binghamton:

Libous said that the chosen Tyre site is closer to Canada than it is to Binghamton, he said that the original casino siting legislation allows up to 2 licenses in each region.
Delaware County Deputies arrested 30-year-old Christopher Davis of Franklin for Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, following an investigation into a domestic dispute in the town of Franklin. Davis was arraigned & was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional facility on $1,500 cash bail, he will appear in the Town of Franklin Court at a later date.
Long time Bainbridge businessman & General Clinton Canoe Regatta organizer Ed Hromada passed away last Thursday following a lengthy battle with cancer, he was 71. Hromada was the owner of Ed’s shoe store in Bainbridge, he was also a former President of the Bainbridge Chamber Of Commerce, a 3 time General Clinton Regatta Chairman & was involved with the Afton Inner Church Council Food Pantry & the Bainbridge Soup Kitchen, a service celebrating his life was held Sunday at the Afton United Methodist Church.
