The U.S. Attorney's Office announced that Mark Pullyblank & William Clements were sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Binghamton for violating the Clean Water Act, both were sentenced to probation and fined a total of $12,000, they were working as project managers for Crane-Hogan Structural Systems, which was contracted to tear down the parking garage at the Binghamton Governmental Center in 2008 and 2009. The company discharged large quantities of concrete and concrete slurry into the Susquehanna River, the company was ordered to pay a fine of $500,000
Governor Andrew Cuomo's Girlfriend, TV Food Network star Sandra Lee, has been hospitalized for complications from her recent double mastectomy. Lee was rushed to the hospital Tuesday night the 49-year-old Lee had the surgery in May after receiving a breast cancer diagnosis through a routine Mammogram. Cuomo left a Billy Joel concert at Nassau Coliseum early to be with Lee when he learned of her hospitalization.
The City Of Oneonta Will be painting the deck of the Pedestrian Bridge Adjoining the 2nd level of the parking garage to the Main Street arcade walkway beginning Monday morning, The bridge will be closed all day Monday & Tuesday, during that time, main street can be accessed from the Muller Park Stairs of by lower Chestnut Street. Chenango County Sheriff's deputies arrested 2 men Wednesday following a trespass complaint in the Town of North Norwich. Deputies arrested 19-year-old Daqon Holmes of Utica & Dashire Jackson of Utica following a 911 complaint from a male in North Norwich who claimed that the 2 would not leave his residence until he paid them $250 dollars. After arrival to the scene, detectives located the defendants, Holmes fled on foot, he was located and taken into custody without further incident, Holmes and Jackson were charged with criminal trespass, they were arraigned in the Town of North Norwich Court, they were remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1000 cash bail.
The State DEC adopted new regulations to address varying deer populations in portions of the state. DEC Acting Commissioner Marc Gerstman announced that several modifications to the Deer Management Assistance Program were designed to ease the application process for landowners while providing greater flexibility for DEC to administer the program. The full list of changes to the rules can be found a dec.ny.gov.
Governor Cuomo today announced that the new, redesigned NASCAR license plate series will be available to order at the Cheez-It 355 at Watkins Glen International, taking place this weekend. Representatives from the State DMV will be on hand at the race to provide customer service, including to help visitors order the custom plates, renew their registrations, assist with address changes, schedule road and vision tests, and complete web transactions. Details are available at dmv.ny.gov.
The Bainbridge-Guilford Central School will hold a Board of Education Meeting TODAY in the District Conference Room at 6:30 PM.

State Police from Deposit investigated the finding of a body of an adult male near Wheeler Street and Railroad Avenue in Hancock last week. Troopers identified the deceased as 60 year old Arthur Ballard of Hancock, the autopsy conducted at Lourdes Hospital showed the cause of death to be a combination of hypothermia and acute alcoholic intoxication. No signs of criminal activity or foul play in his death.
The State Senate passed a package of bills last week to give municipalities the ability to pass their own sexual predators laws to meet their own needs, after a Nassau county law was struck down in court. Area State Senator John Bonacic comments:

Bonacic said that this series of bills addresses the concerned raised by the Court Of Appeals in their ruling, and should stand up to any possible court challenges. The bills move to the Assembly for consideration.
Sidney High School Senior Austin Dean won the New York state wrestling championship in division 2 at 285 pounds, Saturday night at the Times Union Center in Albany. Dean won his final match 5 to 3 in overtime by scoring a takedown with 17 seconds left. Dead talked with WCDO Sports Director Nate Lull today about how he ended his high school wrestling career:

On Friday, Delaware County Deputies responded to a Domestic Dispute on State Highway 10 in the Town of Kortright. Deputies arrested 34-year-old Craig Schmitz of Bloomville for Endangering the Welfare of a child, Harassment & Criminal Mischief; he was arraigned in the Town of Delhi Court and released on his own recognizance pending future court action.
A special meeting of the Village of Sidney Board of Trustees will be held today at 7:00 PM in the boardroom at the Sidney Civic Center. The special meeting was rescheduled from the Board’s February 23, 2015 meeting. The Board anticipates entering into an executive session to discuss a litigated matter, followed by the regular portion of the meeting to consider other Village business.
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life Team Captain Appreciation night is scheduled for today at 5:30 at the United Methodist Church in Sidney, Any one still wishing to form a team or community members wanting to learn more about the event are urged to attend. This year’s Relay will be held on Saturday May 9th from 11:00 AM to 11 PM at General Clinton Park
Rick Springfield will be the opening night performer at the Chevy Court at the 2015 New York State Fair this year. The State Fair runs from August 27th to September 7th this year at the Fairgrounds in Syracuse.
