New York State has tested over 32,000
people, & there are more than 7100 cases of the Corona Virus with 35
deaths, so Governor Cuomo today announced that that 100% of employees of non-essential
must now stay home:

Cuomo said that they are
concentrating on acquiring more hospital beds in existing facilities, hospital
beds for makeshift sites that are not in use for their usual purposes and above
all, Ventilators for those in the ICU Units with the Coronavirus. New York will implement a 90-day moratorium
on evictions for residential and commercial tenants.
On Monday, a Red Cross EMERGENCY
Blood Drive will be held at the Sidney Fire Department Training Center on River
Street. Blood supplies are extremely low
as a number of Blood Drives were cancelled due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, the
blood drive will be held from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday.
The State DEC and NYSERDA announced
that more than $24 million is now available to replace diesel-powered transit
buses with new all-electric transit buses.
As part of the state’s $127.7 million allocation of the federal
Volkswagen Settlement, NYSERDA will administer approximately $18.4 million to
fund the new electric transit buses through the New York Truck Voucher
Incentive Program and the New York Power Authority will manage $6 million for
associated charging infrastructure.
The National Baseball Hall of Fame’s
collection of documents, oral histories and video is available online for fans,
while the museum is closed to the public due to the COVID 19 situation. The Museum’s Digital Collection is available
at collection.baseballhall.org; historic videos are also located on the Hall of
Fame's YouTube channel.
BC Transit announced today that they
will not be collecting fares from riders, and partitions have been set up to
keep riders at least 6 feet away from each other. Intense cleaning of the busses has been
continuing over the last 3 weeks.

Officials announced today that the Solid Waste Site is still open, but that are
asking visitors to visit as little as possible and to get in and out as quickly
as possible. Also, Effective Saturday
March 20 the SWMC will operate on a cashless pre-paid debit basis only, for
customers wishing to dispose of construction & demolition debris,
furniture, and any waste items subject to tipping disposal fee. More

The Small Business Administration
announced that the statewide disaster declaration for New York is now in place,

Eligible businesses can apply for the
SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans online at disasterloan.sba.gov/ela. Green also said that those businesses that
want to get the exemption forms that want to be considered as

announced a new resource available to his constituents in the 52nd Senate
District seeking information on the government's response to the Coronavirus/COVID-19
public health crisis. Akshar and his
staff have posted a collection information and resources related to Coronavirus
on his website, Akshar.NYSenate.Gov.
Bassett Healthcare Network announced
that all elective surgeries are being postponed during the response to the
COVID-19 pandemic. This includes non-essential medical, surgical and dental
procedures at all Bassett Healthcare Network hospitals and outpatient surgical
facilities.
The Otsego County Planning Department
announced that Otsego Express Routes 5, 6, 9 are all suspended starting Monday
March until further notice.
