The DO NOT Call Act would increase penalties for individuals and companies intentionally preying on consumers through unsolicited and illegal robocalls. Research indicates that 4.5 billion robocalls targeted Americans in April; over 229 Million of them targeted New Yorkers, making it the 5th most-called state in the nation. Consumers lose approximately $40 billion a year through telemarketing fraud.

In the stimulus bill, Broome County gets 36.9 Million dollars, Chenango County 9.1 million, Delaware County 8.5 million & Otsego County 11.5 Million dollars, the state gets $12.6 billion in direct fiscal relief, New York cities will get $6.14 billion, counties will receive $3.9 billion, and smaller cities, towns and villages will receive $825 million. New York State will also receive $358 million from the state and local fund for building out broadband infrastructure.

Patient Hospitalizations went down by 115 to 7,967, the number of ICU patients was still around 1500, and the number of ventilators went down by 17 to 986. There were 135 COVID deaths Wednesday.

Delaware County Public Health reported only 4 positive COVID tests Monday out of 197 tested, for about 2% positivity rate. The County reports 18 hospitalized, 246 quarantined & 101 total active cases.

Workers in the fast-food industry will see an increase from $13.75 an hour to $14.50 an hour. Also Workers who are eligible will now have access to up to 12 weeks of job-protected paid time off, mainly this is for those with a newborn, or those recovering from or assisting a loved one who is ill with COVID or other serious illnesses, or to assist a loved one who's family member is deployed overseas.
