President Donald Trump is engaging in a Twitter feud with Democratic New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, after the Senator called on Trump to step down due to numerous accounts of sexual harassment by several women against Trump over the last 4 decades. The President called Gillibrand disloyal, for allegedly asking Trump for Campaign Contributions a few years ago before Trump's alliance with the Republican Party.

U.S. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced $1.8 Million Dollars for the Sidney Municipal Airport, through the Federal Aviation Administration. the Airport will use the funding to construct a new taxiway. The funding is awarded through the Airport Improvement Program and is administered by the FAA, for grants to public agencies for the planning and development of public-use airports.

U.S. Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced $1,061,034 for Head Start programs at Delaware Opportunities. The federal funding was allocated through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and will be used to support child care services for low-income families in the Southern Tier Region. Head Start provides comprehensive child development programs for low-income children at ages 3 & 4, as well as supports and services for their families.

US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is making appearances this week in the upstate counties; to discuss federal efforts to combat Lyme Disease. Currently, the Trump Administration has started the process to establish the "Tick Borne Illness Disease Working Group", forming the group was a provision in Gillibrand sponsored legislation "The Lyme & Tick Borne Illness Prevention, Education & Research Act", which became law in December. The group will serve as an advisory committee to the Department of Health & Human Services. In 2015, there were 3200 cases of Lyme Disease in New York State alone.

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand said that she is ruling out a run for president in 2020, as she is focused on running for re-election for her US Senate seat in 2018. Gillibrand had to speak on the subject again yesterday in the North Country; she gave the same answer as she has since the beginning of the year, when reporters suggested that she could be a viable Democratic Party candidate for the Presidential race in 2020.

Gillibrand said that she wants to have those services provided to fight the financial exploitation of seniors, who have been especially targeted by scammers in recent years.
