On Monday, Broome County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol a responded to a 911 call regarding a dispute involving multiple individuals and a firearm in the Town of Fenton. 1 of the involved parties had been fighting with multiple individuals before leaving in a red Jeep and returning, patrols found 41 year old Matthew Penny of Chenango Forks, he ignored commands by patrols & drove off. Deputies learned of a female victim inside the residence had injuries from being hit by Penny’s vehicle, she was transported to Wilson Hospital. Deputies met Penny at his address in the Town of Fenton, , he was taken into custody & was charged with Reckless Endangerment, Assault, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer, he was arraigned & was released & ordered to appear in the Town of Fenton Court at a later date.

State Police arrested 67 year old Eric Halstead of Candor, for Corrupting the Government & 3rd degree Grand Larceny, following an investigation by State Police with the Office of the State Comptroller. An investigation revealed that over several years while Halstead was Mayor of the Village of Candor, he withdrew over $23,000 dollars in cash from a Village account for personal use, Halstead replaced approximately $19-thousand dollars but still owes money to the Village of Candor. Halstead was arrested and Arraigned & he was released on his own recognizance and scheduled to appear in the Candor Town Court on August 5th.

State Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute on County Highway 47 in the town of Oneonta. 37 year old Timothy White of Oneonta was in possession of long guns and a victim was fearful of White’s past actions that could lead to further harm. While issuing an Extreme Risk Protection Order, Troopers observed numerous firearms and narcotics related items which further resulted in a search warrant of White’s residence, where Police seized methamphetamines, heroin, pills, scales, packaging materials & 2 rifles with defaced serial numbers White was charged with multiple counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance & Criminal Possession of a Weapon, he was arraigned & was remanded on $50,000 cash or $100,000 property bond.

Publicis is one of the world's largest healthcare advertising companies and developed predatory and deceptive marketing strategies for Purdue Pharma to increase prescriptions and sales of opioids such as OxyContin, ultimately fueling the opioid epidemic. New York will receive $19,176,750 as a result of the agreement, which will be used to fund opioid abatement, treatment, and prevention.
4 people were injured yesterday when a vehicle crashed into the White Rose day Spa on the Vestal Road Wednesday afternoon. 4 people were taken to area hospitals after the crash with non-life threatening injuries, the vehicle was a courtesy rental from Miller Honda nearby, the investigation is continuing.
