The Unadilla Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner & Awards Ceremony will be held this Sunday starting at 3:00PM, at Far View Farms In Unadilla. Sidney Airport Club announces the return of the Drive In/Fly In Breakfast this Sunday starting at 8:00 AM at the Sidney Municipal Airport. Plane Rides by Delaware Aviation.


The Unatego Booster Club will hold the Alec Pitel Memorial "Sprintin for Spartans" 5k/5mile run this Sunday at 10:00 AM, Alec's wife Judy Pitel was honored that the Booster Club named this event after her late husband, who lost his life after years of battling Alzheimer's Disease:

A Car Seat Safety Check will be held in Oneonta tomorrow at the Home Depot on Route 28 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The event is co-sponsored by The Otsego County Health Department, Sheriff's Department, AAA & the Governor's Traffic safety Committee.

On Tuesday, the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force attempted to execute a narcotics search warrant at a residence and vehicle in the Town of Sanford. 39 year old Scott Lord of Deposit, fled the scene in a vehicle, leading law enforcement on a lengthy pursuit into Pennsylvania. As deputies and Pennsylvania State Police responded to seize the vehicle, Lord was found to still be in the vehicle and he fled the parking lot, striking a Broome County patrol car and another vehicle, Vehicle tire deflation devices were successfully deployed and Lord crashed into a creek. Lord was arrested for Attempted Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Reckless Endangerment, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance & Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia, The Wayne County District Attorney has also announced several felony charges.


The Norwich High School Sports Hall of Fame will hold their 12th induction ceremony this weekend, spokesman Rich Turnbull told WCDO News about this year's Hall of Fame inductees:

State Police & Emergency personnel responded to a truck accident on I-88 in Schenectady County at about 3:00 AM this morning. A truck carrying compressed natural gas went off of the roadway, area residents were briefly evacuated, the unidentified driver was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, the cause of the accident is under investigation.


The New York Lottery today announced 4 3rd-prize-winning tickets were sold for the December 4 Powerball drawing. 1 of the winning tickets was sold at the Stewart's Shop in Cooperstown, the ticket is worth $50,000. The Powerball drawing is televised every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 pm.


Congressman Marc Molinaro is pushing the U.S. Department of Agriculture to address the milk carton shortage in Upstate New York. Supply chain problems at 1 of the 2 major milk carton manufacturers has caused schools, hospitals, nursing homes, and other institutions in to forgo serving milk. This milk carton shortage may also force dairy farmers to dump milk if the issue is not rectified quickly.


State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli released a new report that confirmed, that taxpayers moved out of New York State reached its peak in 2020, when the state was the 1st to have outbreaks of the COVID 19 virus. Net-out migration Declined Significantly in 2021, But Still Exceeded Pre-pandemic Levels, the report found more than one of every 100 resident personal income tax filers left New York state in 2020, with net out-migration 400% higher in 2020 compared to 2019. 31 year old Caleb Lane of Franklin pleaded guilty to Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child. On August 25, 2022, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a cyber tip that an individual account had downloaded a sexually explicit image of a child in Franklin, records were seized from the Microsoft Corporation and on September 29, 2023, Lane was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Minor. Lane will be sentenced to a ten-year period of felony probation supervision and will be required to register as a sex offender.


Commerce Chenango announced that the NBT Holiday Spectacular Business After Hours Event will beheld today from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The event will be held at the NBT Branch at 52 South Broad Street in Norwich, participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food Items for the Roots & Wings Program, or new unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots.

Oneonta Police Department responded to a report of suspicious activity on Gilbert Street Thursday.  Police investigated & arrested 29-year-old Jahari Brown of Utica, & 22-year-old Davon Sanders of Utica, on charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.  The pair are accused of possessing 25 bags of heroin with a street value of approximately $500. Police also recovered a handgun and a loaded sawed-off shotgun.  Both subjects were held pending arraignment in Oneonta City Court, the investigation is continuing.


A gas leak inside the former Midtown Mall building at 83 Court Street in downtown Binghamton Thursday, led to an evacuation of area buildings. Workers building student housing were cutting a pipe that they believed to be inactive, when a plasma cutter ignited gas in the pipe.  Binghamton firefighters, Police & NYSEG Crews responded, at around 11:20 AM, no injuries were reported, and evacuees were allowed back into their buildings about 2 hours later.


The Tri Town Theater is celebrating its 50th Anniversary season by performing the Musical "Kiss Me Kate” at the Unatego High School Auditorium tonight & tomorrow night at 7:30 PM & A Sunday Matinee at 2:00 PM.   Tickets are available at Glad Tidings in Sidney, Hometown Hardware in Bainbridge & The Green Giraffe in Unadilla.


The Bainbridge Girl Scout unit 365 is having their annual community giveaway this Saturday.  Gently used items can be dropped off tonight from 6:00 to 8:00 PM or Saturday at 8:30 to 9:00 AM, then from 9:00 AM until noon, residents are invited to come in an take any items free.  The drop off and giveaways will all be held at the Greenlawn elementary school, more information is available at 267-2378.


The American Red Cross is holding a Blood Drive Saturday, starting at 8:00 AM.  Donations will be accepted at the  American Red Cross at The Circle Drive Alliance Church at 6 Circle Drive in Sidney.
