State Police arrested 73-year-old Csaba Fekete of Bainbridge, for 2 felony counts of Criminal Contempt in the 1st degree. Troopers were advised of 2 incidents where Fekete was allegedly sounding a loud alarm outside his home and then yelling at separate neighbors, which violated an order of protection. Fekete was arraigned in the town of Bainbridge court and was remanded to the Chenango County jail on $20,000 cash bail. His next court date is pending.
The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office & State Police arrested 23-year-old Geraldo Rivera of Greene for 2nd degree Burglary. Deputies arrested Rivera following a report that he was found inside the victim’s residence by the victim. Rivera was arraigned in the Town of Greene Court and remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $10,000 cash bail pending future court action.

The year marked the 131st edition of the Delaware County Fair.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit upheld New York State's denial of a water quality certification for the proposed Constitution Pipeline. The Pipeline would include construction of 100 miles of new natural gas pipeline across Central New York, crossing more than 250 streams and more than 80 acres of wetlands. In 2014, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved the pipeline but conditioned that approval on certification from New York State, the State DEC denied the certification on the grounds that they failed to provide sufficient information that the project would meet the state’s standards.
The Sidney American Legion will be hosting a fundraiser tomorrow from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, to assist the Sidney Historical Association, as they are looking for a permanent building or space for their museum. More information is available at 237-4762

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced that New York has agreed in principle to join a state-federal $465 million settlement with Mylan Inc. New York led a coalition of states in the investigation that resolved allegations that Mylan knowingly underpaid rebates owed to Medicaid for the drugs EpiPen® and EpiPen Jr.® that were dispensed to Medicaid beneficiaries. Under the settlement, New York will receive $38.5 million.
State Police arrested 60-year-old Lawrence Jaeger of Edmeston for felony Grand Larceny, after troopers were advised of a theft of funds from the Burlington Flats Fish and Game Club, in the town of Hartwick. An investigation determined that, while acting as the club treasurer, Jaeger had stolen just over $50,000 from the club funds, from June 2010 up until May 2017. Jaeger was arraigned in the town of Hartwick court and was released without bail; his next court date is on September 13th.

The State Health Department revealed some of the changes that are coming to the Medical Marijuana program. New regulations will allow for marijuana to be distributed to patients by certified physicians, in chewable & effervescent tablets, lozenges plus topical Ointments, lotions & patches. Smokable Marijuana is not allowed in the state program, the new regulations take effect next month.
The State Police issued 21,148 tickets during this year's "Speed Week" campaign, which was conducted from Wednesday, August 2nd through Tuesday, August 8th. Troopers issued 9,205 tickets for speeding, 348 for distracted driving and arrested 234 people for driving while impaired. State Police also responded to 268 personal injury accidents, which resulted in 5 fatalities and 393 people injured.

The Sidney Village Zoning Board will be holding a meeting tonight, regarding the plot of land near the Lutheran Church on West Main Street, for a variety of Housing, to replace those that are lost or will be lost in the River Street Area following the floods of 2006 & 2011. Tonight’s meeting will be held at the Sidney Civic Center at 7:00 PM & is open to the public.
New York State Police will have 15 new canine teams on patrols shortly. The Troopers & their canine partners graduated from a special program at the State Police Academy on Friday, 7 of the new teams will be assigned to New York City, the rest to Long Island & the upstate Troops.

State Lawmakers are looking to get back to work on the 2017 session, area Assemblyman Cliff Crouch told WCDO News today that budgeting for public edcuation is a top priority:

State Police at Sidney arrested 43 year old Toby Jones of Masonville, for felony Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a B.A.C. result of .18% plus several other traffic violations. Troopers responded to a vehicle in the ditch at Crane Hill Road in the Town of Sidney, Jones failed to keep right and drove into a ditch. The arrest was a felony because he has a prior conviction for DWI within the last 10 years. Jones faces court action in Town of Sidney Court on January 17th.
A Chenango County man is under arrest for allegedly stealing over $17,000 from the bank accounts of 2 victims. The Chenango County Sheriff's Office arrested 33 year old Aaron Bishop of Plymouth, for thefts from bank accounts from October through December 2016. Bishop is charged with 3rd & 4th degree Grand Larceny, & 2nd degree Forgery, he was arraigned in the City of Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $10,000 cash bail.

Oneonta police arrested an Edmeston man Tuesday following a disturbance at the Oneonta Coin Company. 47 year old Timothy Arnold was charged with 3rd degree Burglary, attempted Grand Larceny & resisting arrest, Arnold is accused of trying to leave the store with a box of coins valued at $1,500, he faces court action shortly.
The State DOT will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, January 17 to discuss the conclusions of the Interstate 81 pedestrian bridge study, and the US Route 11 Bridge over I-81 replacement project, both located in the town of Dickinson. The public information meeting will be held in at the Dickinson Town Hall, 531 Old Front Street in Dickinson. A formal presentation will begin at 6 p.m.
NY State of Health and the State Department of Labor announced that since June 2015, nearly 225,000 individuals have been reached through a partnership to inform New York job seekers about affordable health insurance coverage options. Throughout January, NY State of Health is deploying in-person assistors to 46 Career Center locations where job seekers can make enrollment appointments and obtain more information about NY State of Health.
The Community Foundation for South Central New York announced a grant opportunity for libraries in Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Otsego and Tioga counties. On-line Applicants will be able to complete and submit their applications to the Community Foundation on-line. “The deadline for this opportunity is March 7th, 2017.
