Broome County Sheriff Fred Akshar announced a further expansion of visitation hours at the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility effective immediately. Sheriff Akshar expanded visiting hours to 30 hours per week earlier this year, the latest increase brings the visitation time to 47 hours each week. The visitation expansion coincides with increased staffing levels at the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility after a successful hiring campaign for new and transferring Corrections Officers. The hours are explained at the Broome County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.
The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce will recognize several businesses and groups for their service to the county’s business community at its 2023 Business Awards celebration on October 18 at Bluestone Restaurant in Delhi. Delaware County Chamber President Ray Pucci said that 2 businesses have been chosen as the "Business of the Year:"

The State Comptroller Office continues its initiative to help New Yorkers access their unclaimed funds. With $1.5 million in lost money returned every day, the Comptroller’s Office holds over 49 million unclaimed funds accounts valued at $18.4 billion as of August. Delaware County Sheriff's arrested 75 year old Alan Donner of Roscoe for Criminal Mischief. On August 26th, Deputies responded to a Criminal Mischief Complaint in the Town of Colchester, Donner had intentionally damaged another person’s vehicle following a verbal altercation while at the Mobil Gas Station in Downsville, Donner was released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Colchester Court at a later date to answer the charges.
The next meeting of the Sidney Chamber of Commerce will be this morning. The meeting begins at 8:00 AM at the Sidney Golf & Country Club.

Delaware County District Attorney's Office announced that 37 year old Randy Condon of Sidney was arraigned on a 3 count indictment in Delaware County Court. Condon was charged with 3rd & 4th Degree Grand Larceny, & 2nd degree Burglary for breaking into a Masonville Residence & stole rifles and shotguns, & over 10,000 rounds of ammunition, worth over $3,000 Dollars. Condon pleaded not guilty at the arraignment, he was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility without bail.

49 year old Richard Foster of Middletown appeared in Delaware County Court & entered a guilty plea to Attempted Assault, Foster was originally charged with a series of crimes stemming from a domestic assault that took place on March 14th. Foster was observed obstructing traffic on State Highway 28, Officers apprehended him after he struck a woman multiple times and attempted to steal prescription pills. Foster was sentenced to one year in jail, an Order of Protection was issued for the victim for a period of 2 years.
FEMA Officials announced that the Oxford Fire Department will receive over $95,000 in the latest round of firefighter safety grants. The Grant will allow the Oxford Fire Department to increase training, purchase equipment and protective gear & increase recruitment efforts.
The State Department of Labor today released preliminary local area unemployment rates for July 2023. The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate held constant at 3.9% in July, locally, Chenango County had 2.9% unemployment, Delaware County 3.7% & Otsego County 3.3% in July.

32 year old Steven Barrows of Sidney appeared in Delaware County Court for violating several terms of his probation, he was being supervised on a five-year term as a result of a conviction for Burglary in Otsego County Court. Barrows was arraigned and was declared delinquent and a probation violator, he was sentenced to serve 2 to 6 years in jail, he was also ordered to pay fines, fees and surcharges imposed by the court.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop August 12th in the Town of Colchester, Deputies identified 27 year old Brooke Klinegardner as a passenger, Deputies learned that Klinegardner had an active Arrest Warrant issued by the Delaware County Family Court, Klinegardner was arrested on the Arrest Warrant and was arraigned & was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility without bail and is to appear in the next session of Delaware County Family Court.

State Police arrested 22 year old Dustin Dungey of Afton, for Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, Criminal Sexual Act, Sexual Abuse & Resisting Arrest last week, following an investigation that accuses Dungey of having inappropriate sexual contact with a child under the age of 13 in June. Dungey was arrested and was processed at State Police Troop C Headquarter in Sidney, he was transported to the Chenango County Central Arraignment and Processing where he was remanded to the Jail on $100,000 cash, $200,000 bond or $500,000 secure bond.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26 year old Kyle Buckley of Walton for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failing to Turn in New York State License, along with other violations, after Deputies observed a vehicle traveling on State Highway 206 in the Town of Colchester with no license plate lamps. Deputies conducted a check of Buckley’s driver’s license & found his driving privileges were suspended in New York. Buckley was released on the traffic summonses and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Colchester Court at a later date to answer the charges.
Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 49 year old Zacharias Fuller on over 80 counts of Criminal Contempt. Fuller is an Otsego County inmate accused of violating a court order of protection, for contacting the protected party prior to his incarceration, and while incarcerated in the Otsego County Correction Facility violating the order of protection. Fuller was turned back over to Otsego County Correctional Facility where he was being held for prior offenses, he is scheduled to appear in the Town of Worcester Court on a later date.

Binghamton police said that a man and woman were discovered inside after the fire was put out, they were taken to area hospital where they were later pronounced dead. The investigation is continuing.

Delaware County District Attorney's office announced that 26 year old John Macrabie of Walton, was arraigned on a 4 count indictment in Delaware County Court. Macrabie was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors & Criminal Sexual Act, he is accused of sending a child naked pictures of himself to entice sexual acts, which allegedly occurred, in the presence of a 2-year-old child. Macrabie pleaded not guilty, he was released to the supervision of the Delaware County Probation Department, the case is scheduled for a conference on September 5th.
Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies responded Saturday to the apartments at 101 Hooper Road for complaint of shots fired. Deputies located a male suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen on the lawn, he was taken to Wilson Hospital and was in stable condition following surgery. 25 year old Jeffrey Gates of Endwell was charged with Assault with a Weapon, Criminal Use of a Firearm & Reckless Endangerment, he was taken to Broome County Central Arraignment and remanded to the Broome County Correctional Facility, the investigation is continuing.
Sidney Resident, Businessman and Village Board member Jeremy Matviak passed away Thursday at the age of 48, following a lengthy battle with cancer. Matviak was a partner in the family business VEP/Waldrons in Sidney & he was recently elected to the Sidney Village board. Calling Hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main Street in Sidney, Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, also at C.H. A traffic stop was conducted, 61-year-old Mark Mclaren of Hortonville was driving in unregistered vehicle without insurance, he was issued tickets for Speeding & Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended/Revoked Registration, Mclaren was released & is scheduled to appear in the Town of Colchester Court at a later date to answer the charges.

The Broome County Special Investigations Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant in the Town of Chenango, at the Comfort Inn on Upper Front Street. 42 year old James Konidis of Binghamton is accused of throwing a package of narcotics out of his 4th floor window in an attempt to hide or dispose of the drugs, investigators located 6.1 grams of Fentanyl thrown from the window, plus they seized methamphetamine as well as a scale for weighing narcotics from the room. Konidis was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tampering with /Attempting to Conceal or Destroy with Physical Evidence, Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia, Konidis was taken to Central Arraignment at the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility for processing and arraignment.
Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand visited the Southern Tier Crime Analysis Center to announce Senate passage of her FEND Off Fentanyl Act. Fentanyl is 50 times stronger than heroin, the majority of illegal fentanyl entering the United States is made with Chinese precursor chemicals and manufactured in Mexico. This bill will empower the U.S. government to go after the cartels bringing Fentanyl into the US and those producing and shipping the precursor materials. The law also enhances sanctions enforcement and gives the Treasury Department tools to combat fentanyl-related money laundering.

Troopers attempted to make a traffic stop, The vehicle accelerated and failed to comply. Numerous violations occurred through multiple villages, towns and city. While on Interstate 81 near exit 5, Troopers deployed a Stinger, which is a tire deflation device, All 4 tires deflated and 3 juvenile occupants were taken into custody, they were charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, the 16-year-old driver was also charged Unlawfully Fleeing from a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle. All were arraigned at Youth Part Court.

The National Transportation Safety Board released information regarding the crash of a single engine Cessna Airplane on May 28th in the town of Plymouth at about 2:50 PM, the pilot, Shawn McMahon of Binghamton, was fatally injured. The plane flew 2 separate sky diving flights that day, a co-owner of the airplane reported that following the 2nd flight, McMahon determined that he had 40 gallons of fuel. During the accident flight, McMahon announced that the skydivers were away & he was descending rapidly, a follow up announcement was unintelligible. 1 eyewitness told investigators that an airplane flew near her house very low, with the engine sputtering & the pilot attempted to start the engine unsuccessfully & she heard the impact, another eyewitness heard the engine shut off earlier when the skydivers jumped, the engine restarted and the plane continued. The investigation is continuing.

Governor Hochul announced today that New York will be sending engineers to Perform Dam Safety Inspections in Vermont, after their recent devastating flooding. So far, New York has deployed 9 engineers from the New York Power Authority and the Department of Environmental Conservation to Montpelier, Vermont to assist in performing dam safety evaluations throughout the state. The Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services is coordinating additional incoming requests for assistance from Vermont and State agency partners stand ready to provide resources as necessary.
The Delaware County District Attorney's Office announced that 29 year old Autumn Transue of Denver Colorado was indicted for Driving While Intoxicated. On March 8th, Transue is alleged to have operated a motor vehicle while intoxicated, she was stopped by the Colchester police. The indictment accused Transue of felony DWI, & driving with a blood alcohol content over .08%. A warrant for Transue's arrest has been issued, if she fails to appear, the DA’s office will work on extradiction.

Sentencing was delayed in Chenango County Court for William Sabines of Oxford, Sabines pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide, concealment of a human corpse and attempted criminal possession of stolen property, in connection with the burning & dismemberment death of Jesse Donlin of Unadilla & Sidney in 2019, & hiding Donlin's vehicle in Chenango County. Sabines was originally scheduled to be sentenced last Friday.

State Police issued 39 tickets in Broome County during an “Operation Hard Hat” detail. Troopers from the Troop C Traffic Incident Management Unit monitored traffic on State Route 17 in the town of Sanford where road crews were completing bridge work. The 39 tickets issued included 13 for speeding, 8 for cell phone use while driving, 12 were for not wearing seatbelts, and 6 were for other assorted violations.
Delaware County Public Health has a free rabies vacciantion clinic today at the Walton Town Highway Garage, for dogs, cats & Domesticated ferrets. The Clinic will run from 5:00 to 7:00 PM today.

Delaware County Sheriff's Office announced that a Bench Warrant issued by the Village of Sidney Court has resulted in the arrest of 55 year old Tina Kerschner of the town of Colchester. Last Saturday Night, Deputies & Town of Colchester Police located Kerschner at her residence, she was ordered to leave the premises at first she failed to comply, she was additionally charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration in addition to the bench warrant, she was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility & is due to appear in the Town of Colchester Court on a later date.
The Broome County District Attorney's office announced that 42 year old Johnny Cobbins of Binghamton was sentenced to 5 years in prison after pleading guilty to felony Assault. Cobbins admitted to slashing a family member with a knife on May 16th, during a domestic argument inside a Lisle Avenue apartment. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at a local hospital where they were later released.

Several Area Fire companies responded to a fire on Stowell Road in Smyrna late Monday night. 1 man was airlifted to a Syracuse hospital for burns, the house was completely destroyed, the cause of the fire is being investigated.

The State Department of Health Bureau of Tobacco Control is releasing 3 new reports that point to the effectiveness of ongoing tobacco control policies adopted in the State over the last few years. The New York Youth Tobacco Survey of middle and high school students, found a decrease in cigarette smoking from 27.1% in 2000 to an all-time low of 2.1% among high school students. A 2nd report showed a decrease from 14.1% to 12.0% between 2017 and 2021. A 3rd report found that flavored vaping product sales and use decreased across the State following the implementation of a ban on flavored vaping products and new limits on the legal age to purchase other products.
The State Board of Elections has announced the release of Online Voter Registration website, which allows State residents to register to vote for the 1st time or update their voter registration, including their name, address or party affiliation. The website is located at elections.ny.gov/OnlineVoterReg. The next election will be the 2023 State and Local Primary which will be held on Tuesday, June 27. Early voting will take place from Saturday, June 17 to Sunday, June 25. The deadline to register to vote for the June Primary is Saturday, June 17.

State Police at Sidney responded to a crash involving a tractor trailer and SUV on State Route 8 near County Road 35 in the town of Guilford. An investigation at the scene revealed that the SUV was on State Route 35 when the vehicle entered the intersection and collided with a tractor trailer that had been traveling on State Route 8. The driver of the SUV, 27 year old Erin Hazen of South New Berlin was transported to A.O Fox Hospital - Tri Town. A passenger in the vehicle, a 3-year-old male was not injured. The driver of the tractor trailer, 51 year old Sergei Maliutin of Cohoes, did not report any injury.
Delaware County District Attorney's office announced that 31 year old Derek Wignall of Hancock was sentenced to a split sentence of six months incarceration in the County Jail and a subsequent five-year period of felony probation supervision for the crime of Criminal Contempt. On July 12, 2022, Wignall violated an Order of Protection, & threatened to kill the victim, he was arrested by Troopers. On April 3, Wignall pleaded guilty to the charge.
Delaware County Sheriff's office arrested 33 year old Christopher Snyder of West Winfield for driving with a suspended New York State Driver’s license. On Saturday afternoon, May 27th, 2023, Sheriff’s Deputies observed a vehicle traveling on State Highway 206 in the Town of Walton, at 75 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. Upon conducting a traffic stop, Snyder's driving privileges were suspended, he was arrested and was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, speeding and failing to surrender NYS License to DMV, Snyder released and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Colchester Court at a later date.

Delaware County District Attorney's Office announced that 38 year old Chad Ostrander of Grand Gorge was arraigned on a 5 count indictment for Attempted Assault of a Police Officer for trying to run down a police officer in Walton, Reckless endangerment for driving at more than 130 miles an hour during a police chase from Walton to Colchester, Criminal Mischief for kicking a door & engaging in a physical domestic dispute in front of a child. A Florida man has been sentenced to prison in a gas station skimming scheme in upstate locations. 34-year-old Yuny Hurtado Rodriguez is accused of working with others between April 2016 and July 2019, to build skimming devices inside gas pumps in Albany, Broome, and Montgomery counties, in order to use the stolen information to create fraudulent debit and credit cards that were used to obtain money orders, gift cards and cash. Hurtado-Rodriguez received 57 months in prison and will have to forfeit $606,000.
The Pennsylvania State Police announced that Nikolas Petrich was taken into custody in Long Eddy, today by New York State Police. Petrich is 1 of 6 people accused in the September 2022 murder of Tyler Barber in Great Bend, Pennsylvania, 5 other suspects were arrested in Towanda, Pennsylvania last week. State police say Barber was tied to a tree & beaten by the 6 suspects, Petrich & one other are accused of beating Barber with a baseball bat. All 6 were charged with homicide, kidnapping, and various other charges. Petrich is in a New York jail awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania to be arraigned on the charges.

Students in the Hancock School District were dismissed early after being under a lockout for part of the morning on Tuesday. The issue began following a report of an investigation of a parent or guardian of a Hancock Student. State Police & Hancock Police reported that there was no threat to any students or staff at about 12:15 PM, but students were sent home & after school activities were canceled. Delaware County District Attorney's office announced that 47 year old James Amato, also known as Tony Amato of Downsville was arraigned on an Amended Violation of Probation Petition in Delaware County Court. Amato is accused of possessing drugs on February 18th in the Town of Colchester and a hearing was scheduled for April 3rd. Amato was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility without bail, he was serving a sentence of probation supervision for his February 2022 convictions of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, If his probation supervision sentence is revoked, he faces up to 9 years in State Prison.

The Delaware County District Attorney's Office announced that 26 year old Brandin VanTassel of Walton, New York pleaded guilty in Delaware County Court to Criminal Contempt, for intentionally violating an order of protection, by contacting the protected party by sending multiple text messages. VanTassel will be sentenced to serve 6 months in the Delaware County Correctional Facility, followed by 5 years of probation supervision. Sentencing is scheduled for March 27, at 9:00 A.M.

Deputies were patrolling Sunday on State Highway 30 in the Town of Colchester, they conducted a traffic stop, Pitre was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended/Revoked Registration, Failure to turn in License Plate to DMV, Failure to Notify DMV of Address Change, and several other lesser charges, she was released on the traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Colchester Court at a later date to answer the charge.

Wells was charged after driving erratically through Delhi on December 12th of last year, she eventually drove off the road on State Highway 10, she was under the influence of heroin. Wells was sentenced to a 1-year conditional discharge, she was also ordered to undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation, attend and complete an Impaired Driver Program, and attend a Victim Impact Panel, her license was revoked for 6 months, and she was ordered to pay $900 in fines & fees.

Broome County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a physical injury domestic dispute in the Town of Union. 66 year old Brian Sanks of the Town of Union, had attempted to smother his Girlfriend in her sleep, threatened to shoot her with a pistol, and threatened to use a taser baton on her. Sanks was taken into custody by deputies and an Extreme Risk Protection Order was subsequently issued, several weapons & drug paraphernalia were removed from Sanks residence. Sanks was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, he was arraigned and has remained in custody of the Broome County Sheriff’s Office.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 53 year old Tracy Thomas of Oneonta for providing false information on a firearms transaction record in an attempt to purchase a firearm. Olson will be sentenced to 8 years imprisonment and 10 years of post-release supervision, plus another 5 year term in prison and 5 years of post-release supervision, to run concurrently to the 8 year sentence. Upon his release from state prison, the defendant will also be required to register as a sex offender. Sentencing is scheduled for March 20th in Delaware County Court.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies were advised on February 1st by Colchester Police that a missing handgun related to an Order of Protection had been surrendered. The owner of the handgun, 53-year-old, Jeffrey Kaufman of Colchester, had been served an Order of Protection. which required all firearms to be surrendered to Deputies, Kaufman did possess a firearm after the issuance of this order, and it was subsequently surrendered later. Deputies arrested Kaufman on 1 count Criminal Contempt he was processed and issued an appearance ticket to Colchester Town Court at a later date.

Several area Fire Departments responded to a structure fire at 440 St. John Road in Afton early this morning. The fire was mainly confined to the 1st floor, there was smoke & heat damage to parts of the 2nd floor, 1 unconscious occupant was removed & was taken to Wilson Hospital. Firefighters from Afton, Harpursville, Greene, Bainbridge & Coventry Responded, the cause of the fire is under investigation.

On Saturday night, Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the Town of Colchester, Deputies identified the driver of the vehicle as 44-year-old Tyrece Williams of Syracuse, who's vehicle registration was suspended, due to an Insurance Lapse. Williams was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended/Revoked Registration, Aggravated Unlicensed Operator, Failing to turn in license plates into DMV, among other charges, Williams was released and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Colchester Court at a later date.

Worhach admitted to stealing more than $1,000 from Broome County to pay for unauthorized parking for himself and former District Attorney Stephen Cornwell, in a commercial parking lot from 2016-2019. Previously, Worhach pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of Stolen Property for working to cover up a felony DWI arrest of Cornwell in 1995, by wiping it out of the DA computer system. Worhach will be sentenced on March 7th, he faces up to 4 years in prison, and the prosecution will seek $5,455 in restitution.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies observed a vehicle traveling on State Highway 206 in the Town of Walton Saturday Night, the vehicle had failed to maintain operation within its designated lane of travel, by crossing over the center roadway markings multiple times. Deputies identified the driver of the vehicle as 22-year-old Paul Akinware of New York, A check of Akinware’s driver’s license revealed that his driving privileges were suspended in the State of New York. Deputies subsequently arrested Akinware For Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failing to Turn in License to DMV, Unlicensed Operator, Moving from lane unsafely and No/Inadequate Lights, Akinware was released and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Walton Court at a later date.

State Attorney General's Office of Special Investigation released its report on the death of Paul Weeden in Walton. On October 4th 2021, Weeden called 911 and said he was going to hurt himself & needed a police officer sent to 14 Griswold Street, A Walton Police Officer responded who requested back up from the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, a deputy met the Walton officer at Weeden's residence. Weeden called the officer to come inside, he was covered by a blanket, and asked the officer to come closer. The officer asked Weeden to take his hands out from under the blanket, Weeden was holding a gun, the officer retreated out the front door, urging Weeden to drop the weapon, Weeden moved to the front door with his gun pointed at the officer, and the officer fired his service weapon, Weeden fell, but then raised the gun, and the officer fired again. Weeden was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers recovered a pellet gun at the scene, there were no markings on The gun that distinguished it from a firearm. The Attorney General's Office determined that criminal charges could not be pursued against the officer.
Deposit Fire Department responded on Saturday to a fatal fire on Lumber Road in the town of Deposit. The fire started around 4 pm. and the house was deemed a total loss, the name of the victim has not been released pending family notification. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Firefighters from Afton, Hancock, Harpursville, Masonville, and West Windsor fire departments responded.

Laskow was involved in a 1 car motor vehicle accident in Margaretville on June 10, 2022, State Police accused Laskow of being under the influence of a drug, he was sentenced to 2 years of probation, and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and a $400 surcharge, his driver’s license was revoked for 6 months, and he was ordered to attend a Victim Impact Panel and an Impaired Driver Program.

There were no influenza-associated pediatric deaths reported this week, there have been 8 since the flu season started late last year. There have been 4,459 cases of flu reported, 465 people were hospitalized with influenza in New York, a 44% decrease over the previous week.

The Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 38 year old Danielle Mingleton of Cooperstown, following a recent traffic stop in Milford. Mingleton was charged with DWI, Aggravated DWI, Failure to Keep Right, Operating while Registration is suspended or revoked, Operating without Insurance & Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle on a Highway, she was released on appearance tickets for Milford Town Court on February 14th.
Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies observed a vehicle traveling on State Highway 206 in the Town of Colchester, crossing over the double yellow line. Deputies identified the driver of the vehicle as 20 year-old Breawna McCree of Bronx, a check of the vehicle’s license plate showed that the vehicle inspection had expired in 2021. McCree was charged with Displaying a Forged Inspection Sticker, Uninspected Motor Vehicle, and Moved from lane unsafely, she was released and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Colchester Court at a later date.

The Tioga County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence on Day Hollow Road in the Town of Owego after receiving a call requesting to check the welfare of 78 year-old Phyllis Kvassay, Deputies located her deceased, they also encountered her son, 33 year-old son James Kvassay inside of the residence, he was arrested for 2nd degree murder for allegedly causing the death of his mother. James Kvassay was arraigned and was remanded to the Tioga County Jail without bail. The investigation is still ongoing at this time.

The Norwich Fire Department responded to a fire in the basement of St. Paul's Catholic Church on Pleasant Street Tuesday morning. Norwich Fire Department Chief Jan Papelino told WCDO NEws that the firewas started by a defective Dehumidifier in the basement, a church employee spotted the issue & called the Fire Department. Several other fire departments were called to the scene, Smaoke & Water damage was reported with heavy soot throughout the building, No injuries were reported, Chief Papelino said that the church will be closed for several weeks for clean up.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop, Hall's Registration was suspended, his driver’s license was revoked , Hall was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, operating a Motor Vehicle While Registration is Suspended, Unlicensed Operator and Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device, Hall was released on tickets for the Town of Delhi Court at a later date.
Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 23 year old Damien Croley of Downsville, Deputies were patrolling on State Highway 206 in the Town of Colchester when they received a license plate reader alert on a vehicle with a Suspended Registration, they conducted a traffic stop, Croley’s registration was suspended, he was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended/Revoked Registration, he was released and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Colchester Court at a later date.

The vigil will be held at 7:00 pm. on the track of Harpursville High School and all are welcome to attend. Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the launch of the $30 million Pre-Seed and Seed Matching Fund Program, which will offer early-stage start-up companies $50,000 to $250,000 in growth assistance which they will match with funds from private sector co-investors. On Monday Deputies observed a vehicle traveling on State Highway 30 in the Town of Colchester with an expired inspection. Upon conducting a traffic stop, A check of Kinch’s driver’s license revealed that his driving privileges were suspended in the State of New York. 31-year-old Kimberly Olsen of Edmeston has been arrested following an animal cruelty investigation by the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office. Olsen allegedly mistreated several animals and was charged with 3 counts of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals; failure to provide proper sustenance & 3 counts of abandonment of animal, Olsen was released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Edmeston Court at a later date.

Brady was charged with Endangering the Welfare of an Incompetent or Physically Disabled Person, Endangering the Welfare of a Child & Harassment, following an investigation into an incident that occurred on November 2nd 2022 at Springbrook in the Town of Milford. Brady was unable to be located and a warrant for arrest was issued through the Town of Milford Court, he turned himself in and was released on an appearance ticket for the Town of Milford Court at a later date.
