Schenevus Central School District Superintendent Theresa Carlin resigned during a special board of education meeting earlier this week. Carlin's resignation takes effect on Saturday, she has served as the Schenevus Superintendent since 2018.

An American Red Cross Blood Drive is being held today at the A.O. Fox Tri-Town Campus, from 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM, in the Conference Room N-112. The Red Cross is experiencing a blood shortage due to the cancellation of blood drives and has issued an emergency request for all blood types. State Police released the names of the people involved Monday in a 2-vehicle crash in the town of Columbus; where a Van rear-ended a Tractor Trailer turning off of State Route 8. Police said that the passenger of the van, 22 year old Jasmine Morrison of Rome was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the van, 24 year old Tyler Stewart of Lee Center was airlifted to Upstate Medical Hospital in Syracuse, The driver of the tractor trailer, 38 year old Chad Alishaukas of Sherburne, was not injured. The investigation is continuing.

The Cazenovia College Board of Trustees announced that they will not be enrolling students for the 2023-2024 academic year & they will close permanently after the 2023 Spring semester. The Board said that the closure was necessary due to financial concerns accelerated by the COVID 19 pandemic and inflation. The Board reported that they will work to assist students with their plans for transferring for the Fall 2023 semester.

Delaware County Sheriff's office arrested 70-year-old Charles David of Delhi, after Deputies received a complaint from Delhi Rehabilitation Center. David is accused of subjecting 2 female victims to unwanted sexual contact on 2 separate occasions while residing at the facility. David was charged with 2 counts of Forcible Touching, he was processed and will return to the Town of Delhi Court at a later date. An order of protection was issued for each of the victims.

42 year old Kory Minshall of South Otselic was arrested following a vehicle pursuit. Cortland County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to arrest Minshall on an active arrest warrant, he took off in a vehicle from Norwich to Oxford & back to Norwich, where his vehicle became disabled, he then fled on foot & was taken into custody. Minshall was charged with Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer, Obstructing Governmental Administration, Reckless Endangerment, Criminal Mischief, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, plus the original An Arrest Warrant. Minshall was arraigned and remanded to the Chenango County Jail on bail. He is set to appear in the Town of Norwich Court, Town of Oxford Court, and the Village of Oxford Court to face numerous charges.

Unadilla Fire Department, Wells Bridge Fire Department plus Sidney EMS & Firefighters responded to a a 1 car Motor Vehicle Accident with entrapment Monday Afternoon at about 3:20 PM, personnel began extracting both patients, Life Net took first patient to Syracuse, the second patient was loaded in the Mercy Flight which lifted off to Syracuse at approximately 16:26.

The New York Cannabis Control Board issued the first 36 dispensary licenses this week, a total of 175 will eventually be issued, that is stalled as a court ruling earlier this month prevents the board from issuing licenses, following a lawsuit that claims that the state is violating interstate commerce laws by issuing the licenses to only New York State Businesses.

Delaware County Sheriff's office arrested 41 year old Billie Jo Browning of Unadilla, after Deputies responded on October 28th, to a 2-car property damage motor vehicle accident on State Highway 28 in the Town of Meredith. Deputies arrested Browning for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, she will appear in the Town of Meredith court at a later date.

Broome County officials are investigating the death of an inmate in the Broome County Jail on Friday. 30 year-old Mitchell Lindow of Binghamton was being held on a murder charge when he was found deceased by Corrections officers conducting a head count, an autopsy was conducted Friday, no cause of death was determined.

State Police announced that 9 people were arrested & drugs were seized after search warrants were executed at Budget Inn Motel on Route 23 Southside in the town of Oneonta Thursday & Friday. Items seized included methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, crack cocaine, ecstasy, Suboxone strips & Packaging materials and scales, The investigation is on-going.

The Houston Astros won the 2022 World Series, artifacts from the team are coming to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Among the items donated, the Bat used by Yordan Álvarez in Game 6 when he hit a go-ahead 3-run home run, a Jersey worn in Game 2 and wristbands worn in Game 6 by Astros manager Dusty Baker, a Ball thrown by Cristian Javier in Game 4 and signed by all 4 pitchers who combined on just the second World Series no-hitter.

State Police responded Wednesday to a report of a serious SUV Rollover crash in the town of Plainfield. Troopers reported that the SUV struck an embankment and partially overturned, a 3 year-old female died from injuries sustained in the crash, 2 adults & 4 children were taken to a Utica area hospital, all of the occupants were from Rome & are not being identified at this time, The crash remains under investigation.

The Friends of the Oneonta Theatre announced the start of the stabilization and revitalization of the Oneonta Theatre on Chestnut Street in Downtown Oneonta. Former Theater Manager Tom Cormier is assisting with the transformation, more information will be available at oneontatheatre.org.

State Police conducted an Underage Drinking Initiative throughout Chenango County Tuesday and all businesses checked were in compliance. Some of the businesses that followed the state's laws were B&W Wines & Liquors, of Bainbridge, Mirabito's in Bainbridge & Afton, & Snake Bite Liquors in Afton. During the initiative, retail establishments are checked using a trooper in plain clothes and one or several underage operative(s) who, if asked, cannot lie about their age or give a fake date of birth. When asked for their ID they must show their real New York State ID.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies observed a vehicle traveling at 57 mph while in a posted 30 mph speed zone Sunday. Deputies identified the driver as 21 year-old Nicholas Wanamaker of Maybrook, a check of Wanamaker’s driver’s license revealed that his driving privileges were suspended in the State of New York. Deputies arrested Wanamaker for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Speeding, Wanamaker released and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Colchester Court at a later date,

Early voting began Saturday for the November general election, with New York voters casting their ballots for governor, state Senate and Assembly, as well as congressional offices & some town board seats. Early Voting ends Sunday November 6th, more information is available at elections.ny.gov.

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer announced that Upstate New York will receive over $50 million in federal funding through the first round of the EPA's Clean School Bus Program to purchase over 130 brand new electric school buses. Locally, the Downsville central School District will receive over $395,000 for the purchase of 1 new electric school bus.

In Bainbridge this year, a community Halloween Party Trunk or Treat will be held in the Village parking lot behind Bob's Diner, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. In Unadilla, Trick or Treating with a costume parade will be held at the Unadilla Elementary School starting at 6:30 PM.

State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation is asking the public to keep their eyes open for a Buffalo Turbine “water pump”, which was stolen from a building that was in the process of getting demolished on State Route 8 in the town of Masonville. The item was taken some time between July and October. The pump is red and is marked with a yellow “2”, Anyone with information is asked to contact New York State Police at (607)561-7400, a picture of the machinery can be found on the WCDO Facebook page.

State Police responded Friday to State Route 26 in the town of Maine for a report of a 1 vehicle crash. When a trooper arrived, the vehicle was upside down and the male driver was still inside. 65 year old Mark Truesdail was transported to Wilson Medical Center where he later died. An investigation revealed that Truesdail was south on State Route 26 when he left the roadway, went into a ditch, which caused the vehicle to go airborne and strike trees.

The Sidney Town Board will be holding a Budget Workshop Today at 6:00 at the Town Building at 44 Grand Street. The Workshop is open to the public.

Over 300 members of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers local 1529 voted to approve a new 3 year Contract from Amphenol of Sidney this afternoon. Union Representative Kevin Weidman told WCDO News the issues of sick leave, & wage increases were included and the 2 tier system has been altered & will be phased out. 3rd shift workers will return to work at the Sidney facilities at 11:00 PM tonight.

Governor Kathy Hochul joined Acting Superintendent Steven Nigrelli in honoring 218 new New York State Troopers as they graduated today from the 211th session of the Basic School of the New York State Police Academy. The ceremony was held at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany. Today's graduation increases the State Police ranks to 4,742 sworn members. 29 of the new Troopers will report to Troop C in Sidney.

Delaware County Deputies were dispatched On April 29th to a report of a burglary at Herman’s Trailer Sales in the Town of Walton, followed by additional reports of larceny and burglary from the same location, The Investigation revealed that rare antiques and jewelry stolen from the Herman's property were sold for cash at a pawn Shop in Utica. Items were recovered from Utica, Sidney Walton, Unadilla & South New Berlin, Deputies arrested 39-year old Francis Lupo of Walton & 44-year-old Luke Lupo, of South New Berlin Petty Larceny, criminal mischief & Burglary Charges, and 33-year-old Mistyblue Decker of Hancock for criminal mischief and petty larceny. All 3 were released & will appear in Walton Court at a later date.

The Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 48 year old Wayne Brostek of Schenevus following a traffic stop in the Town of Milford on October 5th. Brostek was charged with Operate out of interlock restriction, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Operating Without Insurance among several other similar charges, Brostek was issued uniform traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Milford Court at a later date.

Delaware County Sheriff's office arrested 23 year old Anna Genao of Franklin for Aggravated Unlicensed Operator charges as well as other violations following an investigation of a motor vehicle accident involving property damage and personal injury in Davenport on October 13th. Genao & other occupants were transported to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, after an investigation, Deputies arrested Genao, she was processed and released, & will appear in Town of Davenport Court at a later date.

The Board of Directors of Commerce Chenango announced the selection of Sal Testani as the organization’s new president and chief executive officer. Testani is a Norwich native , he has more than 16 years of experience as a senior leader with both MeadWestvaco and ACCO Brands in Sidney, & he will assume his new role on November 1. State Attorney General Letitia James released a report on the role of online platforms like 4chan & Twitch in the Buffalo mass shooting at a Tops grocery store where 10 Black individuals were killed and 3 others were injured. James' Office reviewed thousands of pages of documents and social media content to examine how the alleged shooter Payton Gendron of Conklin used online platforms to plan, prepare, and publicize his attack. The report also said that the platforms lacked of oversight, transparency, and accountability in allowing hateful and extremist views to proliferate, leading to radicalization and violence. Gendron faces numerous state & federal charges in connection with the shooting, and could face the death penalty if convicted on the federal charges.

Catholic Charities announced the results of Friday's Community Mass Food Distribution in Sidney. Overall, 684 Households participated, with 1,669 People attending the distribution, 16,968 pounds of food were given out, 34 volunteers participated.

Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested Catherine Shepler of Jefferson, following an investigation of a reported fraud that occurred in the Town of Stamford. Shepler is accused of intentionally purchasing items on a charge account of the victim, she was arrested & charged with 1 count Forgery & was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to the Town of Stamford Court at a later date to answer the charge.

State Police responded to a report that an 85-year-old woman with dementia left her residence on foot several hours prior and could not be located. An organized search was formed in the town of Andes. Troopers and New York State Police K9 were assisted by State Forest Rangers and Delhi Village Police. The woman was located deceased about a mile from her residence, There is no indication of any foul play.

State Department of Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon issued an order accepting the recommendation of the Farm Laborers Wage Board to lower the current 60-hour threshold for overtime pay to 40 hours per week by January 1, 2032, allowing 10 years to phase in the new threshold, following a 2-year process and 14 public meetings and hearings. Farm work in excess of 40 hours per week would be required to be compensated at overtime rates, as it is in other occupations.

The Community Arts Network will bring back the City of the Hills Art Festival, on Saturday, from 12:00 Noon into the night hours. Coach Feltham was instrumental in starting the soccer program at B-G 30 years ago and has been involved with the program ever since.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies observed a vehicle fail to dim its headlights when approaching oncoming traffic Saturday Night. Deputies stopped 20-year-old Louis Manzanares of Uniondale, , whose driver’s license was suspended. Deputies arrested Manzanares for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Dim Lights and Uninspected Motor Vehicle, he was released and is scheduled to appear before the Town of Delhi Court at a later date.

Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 56-year-old Carolyn Brenna of Colchester, back on August 29th, after Deputies received a complaint from a female party where people on her property and refused to leave. Brenna allegedly purchased alcoholic beverages for minors, which they consumed at her residence, became intoxicated, resulting in the disturbance. Deputies charged Brenna with 2 counts of Criminal Nuisance 1 count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, she was processed and released on an Appearance Ticket returnable to the Town of Colchester Court at a later date.

Catholic Charities of Sidney and other local organizations will hold another Community Partnership Mass Food Distribution on September 30th at the Sidney Fire Station on River Street. Catholic Charities spokesperson Penny McKnight told WCDO News that they need volunteers to assist on that day:

McKnight said that they have had several of the Mass Food Distribution since last year, averaging about 12 tons of food given away at each event. The number to volunteer is 607-604-4071.

State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli's office completed an audit of the Milford Central School District, which found that the board and district officials did not properly manage fund balance in accordance with statute. The District's Surplus fund balance exceeded the 4% statutory limit by $600,000, or 5.4%, the Milford board and district officials did not develop and adopt a written multiyear financial plan or fund balance policy.

The Village of Sidney DPW announced that East Main Street is closed today between Chestnut Street and Main Street, to repair a service leak, officials hope to have the road was re-opened to traffic early this afternoon.

Governor Hochul announced that the VaxtoSchool campaign will begin soon, in order to get children vaccinated against COVID before the start of school. The latest COVID Positivity rates were just under 8%, the 7 day average was down to 5.72%, Patient Hospitalization were 2,509, with 249 ICU Patients, 96 on Ventilators, there were 24 deaths reported from nursing homes & hospitals.

The State Comptroller's office audited the West Colesville Volunteer Fire Company, the audit found that the board did not have sufficient controls or information to ensure all disbursements were appropriate and necessary. As a result, the company made unnecessary disbursements totaling $4,107, the board also could not determine whether all collections were properly recorded or deposited.

The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles is warning people of a phishing scam claiming the state is offering $1,500 rebates because of high gas prices, where the scammers send text messages instructing people to click the link to see if they qualify, the link leads to a website designed to look like the actual DMV site. It asks for personal information, State officials report that this is an attempt at identity theft or to install malicious software on computers or cell phones. If you suspect you may have been contacted through a phishing scam, you can email the DMV at: dmv.sm.phishingattacks@dmv.ny.gov.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 58-year-old Dale Beach of Franklin for criminal mischief for an incident last month. Beach is accused of damaging a vehicle by throwing rocks at it in the town of Otego, he was arrested and faces court action shortly.

Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 66 year old Dzemil Mujanovic of Meredith for Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Criminal Contempt. Deputies received information June 17th that Mujanovic was in possession of several long guns that he failed to surrender to Sheriffs Deputies as stipulated in a Family Court Order of protection. Deputies determined that Mujanovic was in possession 7 long guns, which were taken from his residence, he was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Meredith Town Court at a later date.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 24-year-old Sean Parkes of Oneonta on an active Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear in Court, following a Domestic Dispute Investigation. Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a 1 car property damage motor vehicle accident on Calhoun Hill Road in the Town of Andes. The Driver, 52-year-old Sasha Catus of Bronx, exhibited signs of impairment, he was charged with DWI, Driving With a BAC of .08% or greater, failure to keep right, operating a motor vehicle while on a mobile phone, and operating a vehicle without wearing a seat-belt. Catus was released on appearance tickets for the Town of Andes Court on a later date.

State Police responded to a report of a head-on collision involving an SUV and a Trailways bus on State Highway 23 in the town of Davenport. The only occupant of the SUV, a 65-year-old woman of Stamford, was pronounced deceased on scene. Her name is being withheld pending notifications to family. 5 people were on the bus, the driver is a 44-year-old woman of Astoria, and passenger who is a 59-year-old female of Hartwick were transported to Bassett Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. 3 other passengers were not injured, The investigation is on-going.

A joint investigation with State Police Investigators at Sidney and Binghamton has led to the arrest of 32-year-old James Blackman of Afton. Troopers received a report accusing Blackman of inappropriate behavior with children, the investigation revealed that Blackman allegedly raped and sexually abused 2 children under the age of 11 on multiple occasions in Chenango County. Blackman was charged with 2 counts of Predatory Sex Assault Against a Child, 4 counts of Criminal Sex Act, 2 counts of Sex Abuse, and 2 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Blackman was arraigned and remanded to the Chenango County Jail.

A State DEC patrol caught 30 teenagers holding a party with alcohol on Friday, April 22, at the Charles Baker State Forest in Sherburne. The group included teens ranging in age from 15 to 19 years old, including an unidentified 18-year-old from Norwich, who allegedly had 3 cases of beer, who was charged with underage possession of alcohol in a State Forest.

36 Year Old Jonas Whaley of the Town of German pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime in US District Court in Syracuse. Whaley was arrested in September of 2021 & As part of his guilty plea, he admitted to possessing 50 grams of an illicit substance containing methamphetamine, plus handguns to protect himself while distributing drugs. Whaley faces sentencing on August 23rd.

Fire investigators continue to search for a cause to an early Sunday Morning Fire on West Street in Oneonta. Firefighters were called to 452 West Street at about 1:00 AM Sunday to find the home fully engulfed, Fire Fighters from West Oneonta, Otego, Laurens, West Laurens, Mt. Vision, Worcester, Schenevus, Franklin and Pindars Corners fire departments assisted at the scene, no one was home when the fire broke out & no injuries were reported.

The Norwich Downtown Revitalization Initiative's Local Planning Committee Meeting announced a 4th meeting will be held virtually on ZOOM on Monday, April 25th at 3:00 PM. The purpose of this meeting is to continue the Committee's discussion and review of potential projects for inclusion in Norwich’s Strategic Investment Plan. The meeting is open to all members of the public, with time reserved at the end of the meeting for public comment. The ZOOM link can be accessed on the WCDO Facebook page.

The New York Cannabis Control Board approved the first batch of 52 adult-use cannabis cultivation licenses allowing already established hemp farmers to begin growing marijuana for recreational use. Approval for the farmers comes two months after Gov. Hochul signed legislation creating a new Conditional Adult-use Cannabis Cultivator license that ensures existing hemp growers would get first crack at getting seeds in the ground. The new conditional cultivator licenses are good for up to two years and will allow New York growers to manufacture and distribute cannabis flower products without holding an adult-use processor or distributor license, until June 1, 2023. A 45-day public comment period will begin on May 4 and then the board will review the regulations.

Chenango County Sheriff's Deputies responded on Sunday to a residence on Knapp Road in the Town of Sherburne for a reported Shooting. Deputies located 39 year old Joseph Hubbard of Poolville, deceased inside of the residence from a gunshot from a rifle. There were also two other adults and children inside the residence at the time of the incident. The parties involved were known to each other. There is no danger to the public and all parties involved have been identified and the investigation is ongoing, with assistance from State Police.

The annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held in Norwich this Saturday, in the East and West Parks downtown. Children up to age four will be let into West Park at 10 a.m. to search for eggs, and children between the ages of five and eight will be let into East Park at 10:30 a.m. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Sidney Police responded Friday to Cartwright Avenue for a report of a man causing a disturbance. Officer arrested 25 year old Peter Tarallo of Sidney after he was found screaming at neighbors in a threatening manner. Tarallo was taken into custody and charged with Disorderly Conduct & Harassment, he was released on an appearance ticket. Sidney Police returned Friday back to Cartwright Avenue, where Tarallo allegedly created another disturbance, he was additionally charged with 2 counts of Harassment, plus Endangering the welfare of a child & Obstruction governmental administration. Tarallo was arraigned in Village of Sidney Court where he was released on his own recognizance to appear back in court at a later date.

The Chenango County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal shooting in the Town of Sherburne on Sunday. 1 person was killed Sunday in the shooting, the name of the victim has not yet been released, more information is expected to be released shortly.

Binghamton Police arrested 2 19 year olds last week after complaints of suspicious activity on Gerard Avenue. Police stopped a White SUV leaving that area, they found parts to make illegal Ghost Guns. 19 year old Jayvon Phillips & 19 year old Savion Harris, both of Binghamton were charged with criminal possession of a weapon, Phillips was additionally charged with assault & criminal misconduct after trying to escape, and assaulting a police Lieutenant.

On January 2, State Police responded to a home on Poplar Avenue in the town of Hartwick, it was reported by the initial caller that an elderly victim had sustained physical injuries after an unknown person entered her home. Investigators spent months conducting interviews and examining evidence, ultimately leading to the determination that the woman’s physical injuries were caused when she fell inside her home. No criminal activity occurred, the woman passed away several weeks after her fall. She is identified as 86-year-old Flora Polulech. State Police report that there is no threat to the community.

State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli announced the completion of an audit of the Town Clerk from the Town of Coventry. The audit claims that the clerk did not record, deposit, remit or report all collections in a timely manner. As a result, the town's collections were at a greater risk of being lost or misappropriated. Penalties were not paid & one taxpayer paid double the amount owed, & the board did not conduct the required annual audit of the clerk's records.

The American Red Cross is experiencing a blood shortage due to the cancellation of blood drives and has issued an emergency request for all blood types. Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies observed a vehicle traveling on Main Street in Delhi last Friday with a non-functional headlight. Deputies stopped the vehicle, the driver was identified as 19-year-old Skylar Pesout of Sidney Center, Deputies charged him with DWI and driving with blood alcohol content of .14%. Pesout was also issued Traffics Tickets & was released on an appearance tickets and is to appear in the Town of Delhi Court on a later date to answer the charges.

Norwich City Police officers conducted a traffic stop on Mitchell Street Friday Morning, the driver left the vehicle & ran, & was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. Norwich police charged 23 year old Dylan Keenan of Bridgewater for criminal possession of a controlled substance, obstruction of governmental administration and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, plus Keenan was wanted on several outstanding warrants from different police agencies. Police confiscated methamphetamines packaged for sale, Keenan was processed & was was released on an appearance ticket, but was turned over to State Police for additional processing on the warrants.

Jake Cotten was elected as Unadilla’s new village mayor over challenger Christopher Price in village elections Tuesday, by a vote of 117 to 82. Democrat Paul Baldwin and Republican Joseph Paliotta won trustee seats on the Unadilla Village Board. In Otego, Democrat David Clapper & Republican James Salisbury were elected to the village board.

Chenango County Sheriff's Office arrested 36 year old Daniel Rice of Plymouth for allegedly attempting to have sexual relations with a 15 year old female. Deputies responded following a complaint of a man making arrangements to perform sexual acts with a 15 year old victim in the Town of Norwich. Rice was charged with Attempted Rape & Attempted Dissemination of Indecent Material to a Minor, he was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $20,000 cash bail. Rice is due back in the Town of Norwich Court at a later date.

The State Health Department reported that 67,714 COVID tests were conducted Monday, with 1,060 positives, for a positivity rate of 1.57%. Patient Hospitalization were 1,507, with 251 Patients in ICU and 138 on ventilators & 17 deaths in Hospitals & Nursing homes.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies on Patrol on State Highway 97 in the Town of Hancock last Friday observed a pick up truck driving in a reckless manner in the parking lot of a commercial facility. At the conclusion of their investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies determined that the operator, 21-year old Porter Crawson, of Long Eddy was operating his motor vehicle while both his driver’s license and registration were suspended. Crawson was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and Operating with a Suspended Registration. Crawson was later released on traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Hancock Court at a later date.

An off-duty sheriff’s deputy and his 21-year-old son were killed and the deputy’s wife was in critical condition Tuesday after the three were shot inside their home. Off-duty Onondaga County Deputy Isaac Eames was found shot to death inside his home in the town of Clay at about 7:30 a.m. Monday, the deputy’s wife, 46 year old Karen Eames and son, 21 year old Troy Eames were also shot inside the home and were taken to Upstate University Hospital. Troy Eames died later Monday and his mother was listed in critical condition, The investigation is continuing.

The Associated Press is reporting this morning that Former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver has died while serving a prison sentence in a corruption case. Silver died Monday, he was 77, and he had been sentenced to more than six years in prison for using his clout in state government to benefit real estate developers. The conviction ended a four-decade career in the Assembly.

Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 40 year old Jeremiah Clark of Roxbury for possessing stolen property and falsifying business records. On November 7th, Deputies investigated a report of stolen scrap steel and copper from a building in the Town of Stamford, which were sold to Otsego Auto Crusher’s in Davenport. On January 14th, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division assisted State Police with the execution of a search warrant on a residence in the Town of Roxbury, they charged Clark with Falsifying Business Records and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, he was arraigned at the Town of Roxbury Court and was released on his own recognizance. Clark is scheduled to appear at the Town of Roxbury Court at a later date.

A Racist video was posted by a Bainbridge Guilford Student Monday, on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and was circulated around the District by the following day. After receiving tips from the public, State Police arrested 36 year old Ronald Mills of Afton for Petit Larceny. State Police posted surveillance pictures taken at the Bainbridge Coin Laundry, Mills was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Bainbridge Town Court on February 1st.
