The 2nd annual ”Teddy Memorial” will be held tomorrow at General Clinton Park in Bainbridge. The event starts at 9:00 am through 10:00 pm, activities include a baseball tourney, a 3 on 3 soccer tourney, chicken barbeque, bounce house and many other events. The event is in honor of Teddy Cherniak of Bainbridge, who suffered a fatal injury at the Bainbridge Memorial Day parade last year. Tomorrow will be the annual Chenango County Dairy day in Norwich, featuring a parade & a number of activities at the County Fairgrounds. Parade Chairperson Karen Hoffman explains:

The Sidney Village Police arrested 22-year-old Wesley Crawn of Bainbridge for criminal possession of a controlled substance. Crawn is accused of possessing SubOxone in an uncapped syringe, he was arraigned in Sidney village court and was remanded to the Delaware county jail on $10,000 cash bail, he faces court action on June 18th.
Delaware County Public Health and the Village of Sidney will be conducting a Car Seat Safety Event tomorrow from 9:00 am to Noon at the Sidney McDonalds. Parents are reminded to bring their children to the event and expectant parents are welcome as well. More information is available at 832-5200.
Delaware County Deputies investigated a 1-car property damage auto accident Tuesday in the Town of Meredith on Coe Hill Road. Deputies reported that 20-year-old Kaci Anderson of Delhi lost control of her vehicle, left the roadway and rolled over. No injuries were reported, no tickets were issued.
The Sidney village police arrested 59-year-old Kim Contreras of Sidney for 3rd degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Contreras is accused of possessing 40 Hydrocodone tablets, she was arraigned in Sidney village court and was remanded to the Delaware county jail on $50,000 cash bail, pending a June 18th court appearance.

Sidney - Parade to form at the Moose Club parking lot on East Main St. at 8:15AM with a brief ceremony in Prospect Hill Cemetary. A ceremony will be held on the lawn of the Sidney Memorial Public Library. Guest speaker with will be Sidney Mayor Andy Matviak.
Sidney Center - Parade will form at 10:30AM at the corner of routes 23 & 35. Proceed to the former site of the Methodist Church for the service and then to the cemetary.
Masonville - Parade will begin at about 12:00pm. Sidney High School Band to arrive about 11:45am. Following the parade, there will be a chicken BBQ.
Guilford - Parade line up at 7:30am at the end of School St. moving out at 8:00am. Ceremony to be held at the park on route 35.
Afton - Parade starting at 10am at the corner of Main st. and Pleasant St. The Afton VFW Post 3529 will be holding a pancake breakfast from 7a-11a at the VFW on Main. St.
Bainbridge - There will be no parking on Main St. during the parade! Parade will form at 10am at the Greenlawn Cemetary and start off at 10:30am. Military services will be held at 10:15 AM.
Unadilla - Services and ceremony to start at 10:30am at the Community House, following by a parade and proceeding to Evergreen Cemetary.
Otego - Parade to form at the American Legion Field at 8am
Oxford - The wreath laying ceremony and rifle salute will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetary. Following at 9am, the parade will line up at the Oxford American Legion Post #376. Following the parade and ceremony, there will be a chicken BBQ at 11am.
Gilbertsville - Parade will form in front of the former school on Grove St. at 9am
Franklin - Parade begins at 11am at the American Legion and proceeds to the cemetary.
Oneonta - Parade at 10am followed by the dedication ceremony at Neahwa Park Memorial Walkway at 11am.
Norwich - Parade followed by memorial ceremony at 10:15am in the park.
Delhi - Parade to begin at Courthouse Square and ends at the American Legion at 11am.

State Police investigated a tractor-trailer fire on Interstate 81 in the Town of Lisle at around 8:00 PM Monday. Police found the vehicle engulfed in flames, the operator was 56 year old CLARENCE PHELPS of Watertown, who pulled over & unsuccessfully attempted to extinguish the fire. 30 horses in the trailer died, the preliminary investigation indicates that the fire started after a passenger side fuel tank malfunctioned.
The 2nd annual canoe parade on the Saturday of this year’s general Clinton canoe regatta will be dedicated & named in honor of Pam LaFever this year, LaFever chaired the Clinton canoe regatta for 6 years. Todd & Trevor Lafever commented about the honor for their mother:

Governor Cuomo today announced $91 million in awards for shovel-ready projects to build affordable housing across the state. The funds were available through New York State Homes & Community Renewal, Locally, in this round of funding, Lakewood Development LLC receives $3 million for The Norwich Shoe Apartments; which calls for the demolition of 4 old buildings and the new construction of 34 rental units for low-income individuals and families, 7, for persons with developmental disabilities. The development will be located adjacent to the downtown Norwich Business District.
Residents of the Sidney center fire district are urged to attend a public meeting at 7:00 PM tonight about the construction of a new fire station. A vote on the bond will be held on Tuesday may 21st from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Sidney Center FIRE HALL.
