The opening game of the Eastern League Championship Series between the Binghamton Rumble Ponies and Erie Seawolves scheduled for Sunday at Mirabito Stadium has been postponed due to inclement weather in the forecast. The game will be made up on Monday at 6:05 pm. at Mirabito Stadium and gates will open at 5 pm. Fans with tickets to Sunday's game can use the same tickets for Monday's game. Binghamton Rumble Ponies have advanced into the Eastern League Championship with a 2-0 win over the Somerset Patriots Thursday Night, They will play in the Eastern League Championship Game #1 on Sunday at 5:35 PM At Mirabito Stadium. 4 arrests were made during an Underage Drinking Initiative in Troop “C” in Delaware County Tuesday. During the initiative, 26 businesses were checked, the 4 who were not in compliance were Carroll and Carver Wine & Spirits, Sidney, Breakey’s Liquor Store in Walton, Mirabito Quickway in Franklin & The Country Store in Roxbury. The clerk at each of the business that sold alcohol was issued an appearance ticket for the Alcohol Beverage Control Law violation of Unlawful Sale of Alcohol to a Minor.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary that occurred on July 17th at the Mirabito Gas Station at Old Route 17 in Damascus. The suspect arrived in an white four door sedan, possibly a BMW. The suspect used a sledgehammer to smash the front door and make entry. Packs and cartons of cigarettes were stolen from the location and the suspect fled with the proceeds and the sledgehammer. Anyone with information should call 607-778-6500

The State DEC has issued a Air Quality Health Advisory for Fine Particulates until midnight tonight, across most of the state, due to wildfire burning in Quebec. The State Health Department reported that short-term health effects include irritation to the eyes, nose, and throat, coughing, sneezing, runny nose, and shortness of breath. The Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 34 year old Ashley Williams of Laurens on 2 counts of Torturing or Injuring Animals/Failure to Provide Sustenance. Williams was arrested following an investigation into a report of loose horses in the road in the Town of Laurens on December 11th of last year. During the course of the investigation, it was found that Williams did not provided proper care for her animals, Williams was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Laurens Court for a later date.
