On the 24th anniversary of Michele Harris’ disappearance, State Police continue to investigate. Harris was last seen on September 11, 2001, Despite extensive investigation, her whereabouts remain unknown. In the coming weeks, State Police investigators will be conducting additional searches for evidence related to this case. After 11 weeks of testimony, & more than 50 hours of deliberations, the jury in the 3rd Cal Harris murder trial has been dismissed & a mistrial has been declared. The jury reported that they were deadlocked on a decision regarding Harris’s guilt for the murder of his estranged wife Michele in 2001. Judge Bartlett and the attorneys for both sides will reconvene & they will have to decide if a new trial will be ordered. Harris was convicted twice before in Tioga county court, both of those convictions were overturned on appeal.

Jury Deliberations continue today in Schoharie County Court in the 3rd murder trial of Cal Harris. This third trial took over 11 weeks to complete, it had been moved to Schoharie County from Tioga county following a 2nd successful appeal by Harris's defense attorneys. He was convicted twice before for the September 2001 murder of Michele Harris in Tioga County.

Witness Testimony has begun in the 3rd murder trial of Cal Harris. Barbara Thayer was the first to testify, she served as the Harris family's nanny around the time of Michele Harris’s death in September 2001. Cal Harris was convicted twice before in Tioga county court, those convictions were overturned on appeal; this 3rd trial was moved to Schoharie county court.

Cal Harris, the Tioga County businessman who has been convicted of murdering his wife twice, spoke for the first time in a special interview with CBS. Facing his third trial in the fall, Harris gave his first TV interview to the 48 HOURS program.   The interview will air Monday at 10 p.m. Michele Harris went missing the night of Sept. 11th, 2001. Although amidst a bitter divorce, Michele and Cal were living in the same Tioga County home when she vanished after leaving a boyfriend’s house. Harris has been convicted twice of murdering Michele, but both cases have been thrown out on appeal.

The family of Michele Harris in Tioga county is hoping to gain new information on her 2001 disappearance.  A confidential tip line is being set up by her four children and their father Cal Harris.  Cal Harris was arrested for the murder of Michele in 2005, and has since had two convictions overturned on appeal. Harris will go to trial for a third time in Schoharie County, after a state appeals court granted a venue change. No trial date has been set. Michele's body has never been found.
