2 more players were inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame Sunday in Cooperstown, Fred McGriff played for 19 years in the big leagues, he talked about the journey from struggling in the minors after being drafted by the New York Yankees, to getting into the Hall Of Fame:

In a separate ceremony on Saturday, three other baseball notables were recognized, Chicago Cubs Broadcaster Pat Hughes received the Ford C. Frick Award for broadcasting, John Lowe was honored with the Baseball Writers Career Excellence Award and Brooklyn Dodger great Carl Erskine received the Buck O’Neil lifetime achievement award.

The Otsego County Sheriff's Office released the identity of the man found deceased in Fox Hospital Oneonta Bathroom in May. 32 year old Michael Morton of West Winfield died of a drug overdose sometime between May 30th and May 31. The autopsy found fentanyl, oxycodone, and several other substances.

An Otsego County man, charged with shooting his father, was sentenced yesterday. Michael Buck pleaded guilty to 1st degree manslaughter in June, for the fatal shooting of his 64-year old father, Joe Buck. Buck attempted to withdraw his plea earlier this month, but the motion was denied. Buck was sentenced to 20 years in state prison.

33-year-old Michael Buck is attempting to withdraw his guilty plea fro first-degree manslaughter in Otsego county court. Buck pleaded guilty earlier this year in a plea bargain deal, for the shooting death of his father Joseph Buck last September in the town of Middlefield. Buck was due to be sentenced in Otsego county court Monday when his attorney requested to withdraw the guilty plea.
The Chenango county sheriffs department arrested 45-year-old Michael Ruland of Guilford for Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Ruland was charged following an investigation into a Domestic Disturbance, he is accused of subjecting a 10-year-old child to unwanted physical contact. Ruland was arraigned in the Town of Guilford Court and was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $5000 cash bail pending future court action.

Michael Buck pleaded guilty to 1st degree manslaughter in Otsego County Court following an incident September 21st at the Middlefield home that Buck shared with his father, 64 year old Joe Buck. Joe buck was killed, Michael Buck suffered a gunshot wound to the left cheek. Under the agreement Buck will be sentenced to 20 years in prison, followed by 5 years of post-release supervision. Buck had been indicted on 1 count each of 2nd degree murder, 1st degree assault, & criminal use of a firearm & 2 counts of 3rd degree criminal weapons possession.

Michael Buck of Middlefield was arraigned in Otsego county court on charges of 2nd degree murder, 1st degree assault, criminal use of a firearm and criminal weapons possession. A grand jury indicted Buck earlier this week, in connection with the murder of his father Joseph Buck on September 22nd in the town of Middlefield. Buck was returned to the Otsego county jail on $500,000 cash bail or $1 million dollars bond pending additional court action.

The Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 33-Year-old Michael Buck of Cooperstown for 2nd degree murder, 1st degree assault, & criminal use of a firearm. Buck is accused of killing his father, 64-year-old Joseph Buck in the family home on Indian Run Road. Buck was arraigned Sunday morning at Bassett hospital, by Otsego County Court Judge Lambert, and was remanded to the Otsego County Jail without bail pending future court action.

Norwich police have arrested 4 people in connection with the sale of heroin. Charged were 25-year-old Ashley Babcock of Norwich, 35-year-old Eneth Davenport of Norwich, 28-year-old Randy Buck of Sherburne, and 24-year-old Michael Marshall of vestal, for 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument and criminally using drug paraphernalia. Babcock and Davenport were also charged with 1st degree criminal nuisance and Marshall was charged with 3rd degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. All are being held in the Norwich City lockup pending arraignments scheduled for today in Norwich City Court.
