Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 58 year old Christine McGraw of Gilboa & 45 year old Leon Grizzard of Stamford following an investigation into burglaries at the Delaware County Electric Coop & neighboring properties, Deputies viewed surveillance video, identified the suspects, they conducted a traffic stop in Grand Gorge, 2 weeks later; the operator was McGraw, who was wanted by State Police, the passenger was Grizzard, who was wanted by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, they were taken into custody, Deputies located crack cocaine from both suspects, the pair face a variety of drug & Burglary charges, Grizzard was arraigned & was held without bail. Last month, Deputies located another burglary suspect, 23 year old Gage Johnson, of Grand Gorge, who was charged with False Personation, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, 2nd & 3rd degree Burglary, & several lesser charges, he was arraigned & was held without bail. More charges & arrests are anticipated.

State Police arrested 49 year old James Crosby of Binghamton following an investigation into an alleged threatening social media comment directed at New York State Senator Lea Webb. Crosby was charged with Making a Terroristic Threat as a Hate Crime, The investigation determined that Crosby posted a threatening comment on Facebook in response to a WBNG news story featuring Senator Webb at a Juneteenth event. Crosby was transported to the Broome County Jail for centralized arraignment. State Police also determined that Crosby was in possession of firearms despite being prohibited from possessing firearms due to a prior felony conviction, Police Investigators recovered a rifle, a large capacity ammunition feeding device, and a firearm suppressor, all of which are prohibited under New York State law. Crosby was additionally charged with four counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, class “D” felonies.
The United States Attorney's Office announced that 20 year old Jerry Butler of Walton pleaded guilty in US District Court to receiving child pornography. Butler admitted that in January and February 2025, he used a social media messaging application to receive child sexual abuse material from an out-of-state minor victim. Butler exchanged approximately 20,000 messages with the victim in which Butler persuaded the victim to create and send him sexually explicit depictions of herself, or he would publicly embarrass her if she did not comply with his demands. Butler faces a term of imprisonment of at least 5 years and up to 20 years in prison when sentenced in October, he also faces a fine of up to $250,000 and a term of supervised release of at least 5 years and up to life. Butler will also be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.
Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 51 year old Anthony Sawyer of Norwich Monday following an investigation into a Domestic incident. Deputies responded for a disorderly conduct complaint in progress, deputies determined that Sawyer had allegedly been involved in a domestic dispute with family members, while intoxicated, he is accused of pointing a rifle at multiple victims, that Sawyer had operated an ATV on a public roadway while intoxicated Sawyer was charged with 4 counts of Menacing, plus 1 count each of Reckless Endangerment, Endangering the Welfare of a child and DWI, he was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
The Delaware County District Attorney's Office announced that 20 year old Cristian Navarro Guerrero of Staten Island pleaded guilty In Delhi Town Court to 1 count of Criminal Mischief for an incident On April 15, where SUNY Delhi University Police received a report of a broken window at the first-floor entrance to Catskill Hall. After viewing security camera footage, Navarro Guerrero was identified and arrested without incident, he was placed on 1 year of interim probation. Sentencing was adjourned for one year to see how the Navarro- Guerrero performs on probation.

In the Republican Primaries locally,New York's 19th Congressional District, Peter Oberacker won the Republican primary, advancing to the November general election to face incumbent Josh Riley, in the 51st State Senate Republican Primary, Chris Tague was the winner, for Otsego County Sheriff, Incumbent Rich Devlin & Mike Stalter were in a virtual tie with some votes still to be counted, In Afton, Town Supervisor John Lawrence wins the Republican Primary.
47 year old Eric Rossman of Stamford appeared in the Town of Harpersfield Court Monday & pleaded guilty to 1 count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property and 1 count of Conspiracy. In August of 2025, State Police received a report of stolen tools, at a residence located on Wood Road in Jefferson, it was determined that the stolen tools had previously been moved from a house in Harpersfield. Rossman admitted that he did not originally know that the tools were stolen, as he had put his initials on many of them, Once he was aware that they were stolen, he and one co-defendant moved to evade law enforcement. Rossman was sentenced to 1 year of incarceration to be followed by a one-year conditional discharge.

State Attorney General Letitia James today released guidance to help New Yorkers understand their health insurance options and avoid scams as major changes to New York's Essential Plan take effect. Beginning July 1, 2026, New Yorkers enrolled in the Essential Plan with household incomes over 200 percent of the federal poverty level will no longer be eligible for that coverage, which translates to approximately 450,000 New Yorkers who are set to lose Essential Plan coverage. New Yorkers who enrolled in health insurance through New York State of Health can get free help renewing or changing coverage from New York State of Health-certified enrollment assistors by visiting nystateofhealth.ny.gov or calling 1-855-355-5777. Anyone who believes they have been misled, scammed, or improperly enrolled in a health insurance plan is encouraged to contact OAG's Health Care Helpline for assistance.

State Police arrested 56 year old Joel Salinas of Bainbridge following a traffic stop on Chenango County Road 35 last Tuesday. Troopers observed a vehicle committing multiple violations, initiated a traffic stop, Troopers observed a sawed-off shot gun and other illegal weapons, Salinas was driving to sell the shotgun, the investigation resulted in the seizure of several other illegally possessed weapons. Salinas was charged with multiple counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Sale of a Firearm, he was processed & transported to the Chenango County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.

Binghamton Police responded Tuesday to a report of a male stabbed downtown, a 19-year-old male victim had sustained 2 significant stab wounds; one to his back and one in the upper leg, he was transported to a local hospital for treatment & emergency surgery. 2 suspects had fled the scene in a white sedan. 1 suspect was identified as 19 year old Christopher Ricketts of Binghamton, the 2nd suspect & driver of the vehicle in question was identified as 18 year old Jeremiah Coqmard of Johnson City. Both were charged with 1st degree Assault both were arraigned in Binghamton City Court and remanded to the custody of the Broome County Correctional Facility, anyone with information is asked to contact the Binghamton Police Detective Bureau by phone at 607-772-7080.
44 year old Richard Robinson of Holland Patent pleaded guilty to Attempted Promoting Prison Contraband in Delaware County Court Tuesday. Robinson was an inmate at the Delaware County Correctional Facility on April 17th, he had 2 small plastic bags with a white powdery residue in a brown paper bag, the substance tested positive for methamphetamine. The case was presented to the Delaware County Grand Jury, Robinson was indicted for Promoting Prison Contraband & Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, sentencing will be on August 25th, Robinson is expected to be sentenced to 1.5 to 3 years in jail.
Walton Police arrested former Walton Teacher Eric Scofield who allegedly violated an Order of Protection by being on school property. Scofield was located on the property of the Walton High School, Scofield was charged with 4 counts of Criminal Contempt, he was arraigned & was being held at the Delaware County Correctional Facility on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. Scofield was ordered to stay away from the district after an investigation for engaging in improper communications with students.

A Homeland Security Task Force Investigation Resulted in Convictions for 11 Drug Traffickers from across the Southern Tier, around the state and in Michigan. The 11 defendants involved in an organization distributing large quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and other drugs primarily from 2019 to 2021 through Broome, Tioga and Chemung Counties, they also unlawfully possessed firearms as felons or in furtherance of their drug trafficking. Law enforcement seized methamphetamine, & other drugs, over 65 firearms, cash and ATVs. Among those convicted 55 year old David Wemmer, 37 year old David Cobb & 50 year old Brandon Vanorman, all from Spencer, 38 year old Shawn McCabe of Windsor, 39 year old Philip Acciarito of Owego, , 44 year old Jennifer Patton of Spencer & 39 year old Eini Raupers of Candor.
36 year old John Odbert of Mt. Vision was arrested for 2 counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, Driving while intoxicated & Unlicensed operator by the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office. Odbert was arrested on Tuesday, following a welfare check in the Town of Worcester.

New York Attorney General Letitia James is suing Coinbase and Gemini, 2 of the newest players in the prediction market industry, arguing that the companies' unregulated and unlicensed platforms are illegal gambling operations. By operating without licenses, the lawsuit says, Coinbase's and Gemini's prediction market businesses aren't paying the same taxes as licensed casinos and mobile sports-books, which are taxed by the state at a rate of approximately 51% of gross revenues. The lawsuit also claims that Coinbase and Gemini allow users as young as 18, the state law prohibits wagering by anyone under 21. The lawsuit seeks to bar the companies' platforms from operating in the state unless and until they obtain licenses from the state Gaming Commission.

Delaware County Public Health is hosting free Climate and Health Workshops at the Delaware County Senior Dining Centers. Participants will learn how changes to the climate can impact their health and ways to prepare for emergencies. These workshops are free and open to residents 60 years and older. The State DOT is advising motorists to expect lane closures on I-81 northbound between exits 16 and 21 starting today as crews begin a $19 million pavement resurfacing project. 9 miles from Front Street to Castle Creek will be upgraded, Work will be scheduled overnight where possible, and work restrictions will be in place during events such as the Spiedie Fest and Balloon Rally. The project is expected to be completed in winter 2026. Motorists are urged to stay alert, obey posted work zone speeds and move over when approaching highway work crews.

FDA and USDA both report a large spike in food recall recently, total U.S. recalls jumped 21.4% from 2021 to 2025, with 35% of all U.S. food recalls over the last 5 years impacting New York State residents. New York State Residents were affected by 937 recalls over the study period, 388 were Class I recalls, for the most hazardous products, which have higher risks of causing serious adverse health consequences or even death. The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 44 year old John Williams of Unadilla following an investigation into a physical domestic dispute that occurred in the Town of Unadilla. Williams was found to have used physical force against the victim while in the presence of 3 children, he was taken into custody after a brief standoff with police at the residence, he was processed and turned over to the Otsego County Correctional Facility to await Centralized Arraignment.

Vestal Police responded Wednesday to a report of an individual experiencing a mental health crisis in the area of 581 Sequoia Lane, officers encountered an individual who was in possession of a knife and threatening self-harm. During the course of the interaction, officers made numerous requests for the individual to drop the knife. The individual ignored commands and threw a television at officers & raised the knife and advanced toward an officer. Despite the continued de-escalation efforts, shots were fired and the individual was struck. The individual was transported to Wilson Medical Center. No officers were injured during the incident. State Police will conduct an independent investigation into the circumstance surrounding the shooting. State Police announced that the individual was identified as 38 year old Eslam Ahmed Hegazy of Vestal, he has succumbed to his injuries.
Chenango County officials remind residents that public transportation from Cathay Express Transportation will begin Monday, March 9th. Cathay Express will offer a fare-free day on March 9th to allow everyone to experience the service and learn the routes, Regular fares for Individual passengers will be from 50 cents to $3.00 per ride and a monthly passenger pass will be between $20 to $40. Governor Kathy Hochul today announced that a record level of $67 million is available through the Farmland Protection Implementation Grants Program to help farmers protect valuable and at-risk farmland. Round 20 will make funds available to projects addressing food security, climate resilience, and source water protection, nearly $6.4 million will be allocated to 9 of the State’s economic development regions, the maximum award for any project has increased to $3 million. Round 20 also continues the one-time incentive payment of 10% of the value of the agricultural conservation easement being required for projects that meet climate resilience or source water protection goals.
State Comptroller's Office conducted an audit of the Otsego County – Court and Trust Funds, the Key Finding was that the Treasurer, County Clerk and Surrogate’s Court Clerk generally maintained appropriate records and properly reported court and trust funds. However, $74,150 from 15 actions that improperly remained in the Treasurer’s custody that he should have turned over to the State Comptroller as abandoned property. The Treasurer should ensure that all money deemed abandoned property is paid to the State Comptroller in a timely manner.

State Police BCI, the FBI and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, arrested 3 men following separate investigations targeting individuals using social media to entice minors to engage in sexual acts. State Police arrested 70 year old Ronald Wenzinger of Binghamton, for 2nd degree Attempted Rape Wenzinger was a Reverend at the United Methodist Church in Harpursville, he was turned over to the Broome County Jail for arraignment. State Police arrested 39 year old John Tedmark of Binghamton and 38 year old Juan Bolanoszul of Endicott, each for 2nd degree Attempted Rape, they were turned over to the Broome County Jail for arraignment. Anyone with information about crimes against children is encouraged to contact the State Police or their local law enforcement agency.
The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force executed a search warrant at 117 Walnut St in Binghamton Tuesday, they seized cocaine, heroin, A digital scale, A loaded handgun which was stolen in Georgia, they arrested Joel Ramos, Luis Masso-Deleon and Tyeheem Crawley, all of Binghamton on drug & weapons charges, they were being processed by the Binghamton Police Department.

Binghamton Police Department & the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force conducted 2 search warrants in Binghamton, investigators found a loaded handgun, plus fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, $301 from drug proceeds, and items used for packaging and weighing narcotics. Oneonta Fire Department responded at about 1:30 this morning to a structure fire at 5 Grand Street. An Occupant in 1 of the apartments reported a kitchen fire, crews found light smoke showing from the exterior of the building, they encountered heavy smoke and poor visibility on the 2nd floor, they located the involved apartment and quickly extinguished the fire. The Department reported that all 6 residents from the 3 affected apartments have been displaced and will remain so until repairs can be completed. 1 occupant was taken to A.O. Fox Hospital for evaluation, 1 resident's cat perished in the fire. Assistance was provided by the Sidney Fire Department FAST Team, West Oneonta Fire Department was on stand-by, the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

State Police executed a search warrant in the town of Solon as part of an investigation which resulted in the removal of 41 animals, including 5 goats, 2 cows, a pig, 28 chickens, 4 ducks and a cat were in need of immediate medical care. 38 year old Kyle Heller was also found to be in possession illegally of firearms because he is a convicted felon. Heller was charged with multiple counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Possession of an Assault Weapon, Charges related to the animals are pending as investigators are waiting for the veterinary reports. Troopers were assisted by the Susquehanna SPCA, the Cortland County SPCA and the DEC, Heller was transported to the Cortland County Correctional Facility for centralized arraignment. The investigation is on-going.
New York Attorney General Letitia James and a coalition of 19 other attorneys general today filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration for illegally firing thousands of probationary federal workers, including hundreds in New York. In the last week of February, 372 federal workers had filed for unemployment in New York. More than 1,000 Department of Veterans Affairs employees nationwide were fired in February, including workers at VA medical centers in New York. In Buffalo and Syracuse, more than 100 Internal Revenue Service employees have been fired at the height of tax season. The coalition is seeking a court order to stop further mass layoffs without notice and the reinstatement of all illegally fired federal workers who have been laid off since January 20, 2025.

Governor Hochul today announced preparations to call in the National Guard to staff the State Correctional Facility, if the Illegal Job Action staged by State Correction Officers; does not end tomorrow. The National Guard will be called in to protect correction officers who are currently on the job, individuals being held at Correctional Facilites as well as the surrounding communities. The Governor also directed Department of Corrections leadership and senior Administration officials to meet with leaders from the State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association to call for an end to the unlawful work stoppage. In March 2024, the union agreed to a collective bargaining agreement with the State of New York to improve working conditions for corrections officers.
Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 31 year old Skyler Smith of East Meredith for Criminal Possession of a Weapon. On Saturday Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Smith, who was found to be in possession of an illegal switchblade knife. Smith was additionally charged for a traffic violation and was released on appearance tickets and is to appear in the Town Delhi Court at a later date to answer the said charges.
New York State is waiving registration fees for out-of-state snowmobilers on 2 weekends this winter - February 28th through March 2 and again March 7th through the 9th, so that snowmobilers can ride on over 10,000 miles of snowmobile trails in New York State. Calling hours & Funeral arrangements have been announced for Binghamton Firefighter John Gaudet, who died fighting a fire at 1 Main Street last Wednesday evening. The Gaudet family will receive friends at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, located in Binghamton, today from 1:00 to 5:00 PM, the funeral mass will be held Wednesday Morning at 11:30 AM at the same location. The official cause of death for Gaudet has not yet been announced, he served for 11 years with the Binghamton Fire Department.
On February 11th, State Police conducted an Underage Drinking detail in Otsego County. All of the businesses checked were in compliance and did not sell alcohol to an underage operative. Otsego County Sheriffs arrested 47-year-old Timothy Stone of Cooperstown Friday, based on a report of physical child abuse at a residence in the Town of Middlefield. Further investigation revealed that Stone was involved in a domestic dispute with a pregnant juvenile, allegedly placing the juvenile in a choke-hold before throwing the victim on the floor, causing unknown injuries. Stone was located by Oneida County Sheriffs and taken into custody without further incident. Stone was charged with 3rd-degree Assault, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, an order of protection has been requested on behalf of the victim.

The Broome County Sheriff's Office said that 2 people were taken to area hospitals, following a serious accident on State Route 369 in the Town of Fenton on Saturday. The investigation revealed that at approximately 5:52 PM, the driver of a silver Honda Civic traveling northbound on State Route 369 near Rogers Road failed to negotiate a turn and crossed over into the southbound lane, colliding with a purple SUV. No fatalities were reported, but both drivers were hospitalized and treated for serious injuries. The unidentified driver of the Honda Civic was issued multiple traffic violations.

The American Association of State Troopers is nationally recognizing New York State Trooper Richard Albert as its 2024 Trooper of the Year. Trooper Albert. On June 16, 2023, as Trooper Albert was making a driver-side approach on a traffic stop of a recklessly speeding vehicle at 112 miles per hour on I-88 near Duanesburg, as he was approaching, he immediately came under fire and was struck in the left shoulder, he retreated for cover while returning fire, he called for back up. The suspect & the driver attempted to flee the scene but a passing tractor-trailer driver turned his vehicle into the path of the fleeing suspect vehicle, they then attempted to carjack a disabled pick-up truck at gunpoint, Trooper Albert continued his pursuit, the suspect fled into the woods, the driver was taken into custody, and Trooper Albert was transported to the hospital. the shooter was located deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot.
The New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division unanimously voted in favor of the city’s eminent domain proceedings against the owners of the Binghamton Plaza. This ruling allows for Binghamton to take ownership of the Plaza and use the property as a space for redevelopment or additional greenspace connecting to the adjacent Cherie Lindsay Park and river walk, as well as fixing up sidewalks and other amenity and facility improvements.
State Police “Speed Week” enforcement crackdown continues through Sunday, State Police will deploy additional patrols, as Speeding is listed as a contributing factor in nearly one third of all fatal crashes in New York State. 39 year old Timothy Jarczynski of Maryland pleaded guilty to DWI in Davenport Town Court & was sentenced to a 1-year conditional discharge. On September 28, 2022, a citizen called 911 to report an erratic driver on State Route 23, after following Jarczynski for approximately 10 minutes, he crashed into a ditch where a State Trooper determined that Jarczynski was impaired at the time of the accident. Jarczynski was sentenced to a 1-year conditional discharge and his license was revoked, he was ordered to attend a victim impact panel and successfully complete the impaired driver’s program, If he obtains a driver’s license, he will be required to install an ignition interlock device in any vehicle he owns or operates, he could still face 1 year in jail if he violates any of these conditions.

45 year old Katrina Lott of West Edmeston pleaded guilty to Driving While Intoxicated and was sentenced to 3 years of probation, in Deposit Town Court last week. On June 13, 2023, Lott was driving on County Route 8, when she lost control of her vehicle and drove into the ditch. A State Trooper responded to the crash scene and determined that Lott was likely under the influence of alcohol when open containers were spotted in the vehicle. Lott had a BAC of .16% - two times the legal limit.

2 Law Enforcement officers were killed, and the suspect was also killed in an incident in Liverpool Sunday night. Syracuse Police Officers encountered a suspicious vehicle Sunday Night, they attempted a traffic stop & the vehicle took off, officers did get the License plate number, it was traced to a Liverpool address to stop the vehicle, Syracuse Police & Onondaga Sheriff's Deputies responded & were encountered by an armed male and an exchange of gunfire followed. One Syracuse Police Officer and one Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputy were struck by gunfire. The armed suspect was also shot, all 3 were taken to Upstate University Hospital, all 3 succumbed to their injuries.
Last Wednesday, Oneonta Police Department was called to investigate a reported gunshot wound by A.O. Fox hospital emergency room staff. Officers learned that 51-year-old John Walley of Otego was transported to the hospital by a third party in a private vehicle, which left before police arrived. Walley was interviewed briefly and stated that he was on Chestnut Street when he was injured by a bullet, no evidence at the scene was found, he was re-interviewed & has refused to cooperate. Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 4 individuals on drug charges. Deputies were assisted by the Delhi Police, Deputies located a quantity of Fentanyl and drug paraphernalia within the vehicle and on the persons inside the vehicle. Arrested were 25-year-old Sean Gillespie of Delhi, 27-year-old Marissa Peck of Andes, 32-year-old Shaun Carman of Delhi & 27-year-old Erin Hubbell of Margaretville, All 4 were transported to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office to await Centralized Processing Arraignment.
State Police were called to State Highway 12B in the town of Sherburne Sunday for a report of a motorcycle accident. When Troopers arrived, a dirt bike was observed in a ditch at the point of Foote Hill Road and State Highway 12B, their investigation determined that 26 year old Derek Leinbach of Sherburne, was traveling on State Highway 12B when he slid off the road into a ditch, he was pronounced dead at the scene, The investigation is ongoing.

Contraceptives will be available without a prescription in New York under an order signed by state health officials on Tuesday. The measure comes as the first over-the-counter birth control pill was made available in U.S. stores this month. The Food and Drug Administration said that the once-a-day Opill could be sold on store shelves and without a prescription. More than 25 states already allow pharmacists to provide contraceptive care.
74 year old George Sydlar of Davenport was sentenced to 30 days in jail when he appeared in Delaware County Court Tuesday. A jury convicted Sydlar of Falsely Reporting an Incident to 911, for calling 911 repeatedly to falsely report that his neighbor committed a crime, Police instructed Sydlar that his complaint with the neighbor was a civil complaint & and not a criminal one. A pre-sentence investigation was conducted by the Delaware County Probation Department, Sydlar refused to cooperate, & he was sentenced to 30 days in Jail, and he was transported to the Delaware County Correctional Facility to serve his sentence.
6 area Fire departments responded to a barn fire on State Highway 28 near Fly Creek Tuesday morning around 6:30 a.m. Firefighters were able to save a tool shed and all its contents, a Barn, chicken coop and a tractor were lost in the blaze.

Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested Sabrina Johnson of Oswego County for 2nd degree Burglary, Attempted Grand Larceny, Criminal Mischief & Conspiracy, last November, the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Division received a Burglary complaint in New Berlin, the investigation found that Johnson and a co-defendant caused damage while burglarizing a residence, stole items from within the residence, and attempted to steal a car. Johnson was located at the Town of New Berlin Court and was taken into custody without incident, she was arraigned and was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on cash bail, she will return to Town of New Berlin Court at a later date.
Broome County Sheriff's Office arrested 57 year old William MacDowall of Binghamton for Hindering Prosecution and Obstructing Governmental Administration, after hindering police from entering his residence to arrest his son, 25 year old Justin MacDowall, on an active felony bench warrant for Violation of Probation and an active arrest warrant for Strangulation. Justin MacDowall was charged with Resisting Arrest and Obstructing Governmental Administration in addition to the warrants, both men face court action shortly.
Attorney General Letitia James is leading an investigation into the February 22 AT&T outage that left many customers without service for up to 12 hours nationwide. New Yorkers affected by the service outage are encouraged to file a complaint online at att.com.

Alan Holmes of Binghamton was sentenced as a 2nd time felony offender to Attempted Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in Broome County Court. On June 7, 2021, Holmes was found in possession of approximately 50 grams of fentanyl following a traffic stop in Johnson City stemming from suspected drug activity in Endwell. Holmes admitted to possession with the intent to sell, he was sentenced to 6.5 years in State Prison, followed by 3 years of post-release supervision.

40 year old Christopher Davis of Oneonta was indicted by a Delaware County Grand Jury Thursday, for Predatory Sexual Assault against a Child & Criminal Solicitation, Davis is alleged to have commanded, requested, or otherwise attempted to induce a third party to commit the felony crime of Criminal Sexual Act & repeatedly attempting to arrange for an adult mother to engage in sexual conduct with him and her minor daughters & attempting to cause an adult female to commit Sexual Abuse, and for planning with another adult to drug a female friend so that they could engage in sexual acts while that female was incapacitated. Davis was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility without bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on the indictment on Tuesday
Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 57 year old John Sheldrick of Edmeston following an investigation into a menacing complaint. Sheldrick was charged with Criminal Possession of a weapon, Menacing, Criminal Mischief & Aggravated Harassment, he was found to be in possession of a weapon, menacing the victim, intentionally damage the property of another and harassment, Sheldrick was held at the Otsego County Sheriffs Office, pending court action.
Sidney Police Department received a complaint Thursday of a deceased dog found in a wooded area near Fox Street. Officers responded to the scene and located a female dog that is believed to be a Bull-mastiff. The dog is a fawn color with a black mask and appears to be less than a year old. The dog also appeared to have been extremely malnourished before its death. Evidence at the scene suggests the dog was placed at the location after its death. The Sidney Police Department is investigating this as an animal cruelty case and is asking anyone with any information to please contact the Sidney Police Department at 607 561-2301

Broome County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of a domestic incident at a residence at 90 Circle Drive in the Town of Colesville, Upon the deputies’ arrival, 22 year old Robert Bertram of Port Crane, pulled into the driveway behind the patrol car, exited his vehicle and began yelling at other residents at the scene. After repeatedly ignoring both verbal commands and efforts by patrols to deescalate the situation, Bertram was arrested, he was intoxicated and fought with officers, While in custody, he refused all sobriety and chemical tests. He continued to act aggressively and erratically, repeatedly shouting, screaming, throwing shoes, he was charged with DWI, Obstructing Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest, Harassment, Refusing to Take a Breath Test, & various traffic violations, he was arraigned at Central Arraignment and released on an appearance ticket to answer for his charges at the Town of Colesville Court later this month.

Governor Kathy Hochul announced State University of New York campuses are investing nearly $10 million to provide 3,000 SUNY students with internships before graduation. The annual Goodyear Lake Polar Bear Jump is coming up February 17th, with their annual auction to be held this Sunday at 12:30 at the Milford Central School. State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested 69 year old Francesco Baio of New Berlin for Forcible Touching and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. An investigation revealed that on Sunday, January 21, Baio allegedly inappropriately touched a person under the age of 17. Baio was arrested and is due back at the New Berlin Town Court on February 14.

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced over $157 Million Dollars in federal funding is coming to New York to reimburse the State Division of the Budget for the cost of emergency protective measures taken during the COVID-19 pandemic. Broome County District Attorney Paul Battisti announced that a Broome County jury found Jerome Adams of Binghamton, guilty of Criminal Contempt. On March 22, 2023 Adams violated an order of protection that was issued just 5 days earlier, by going to the home of the protected party. During the trial, Adams also admitted that he had previously been convicted of Criminal Contempt in 2018, he faces up to 2-4 years in New York State prison. Sentencing is scheduled for April 26 in Broome County Court.

Negotiations have successfully concluded after just a few months.
