The Otsego County Department of Emergency Services announced that Dry ice and bottled water will be available for pick up this evening at the Unadilla fire station and the West Exeter fire station from 6 PM – 9 PM or while supplies last. They also announced that the Emergency shelter at the Armory in will cease operations tomorrow, at 12 Noon. The Clark’s Sports Center will remain open until further notice. Edmeston Central School will be open this evening from 5:00M – 9 PM for Edmeston residents to come and get warm, get a hot meal and a hot shower.

Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center is hosting an Earth Fair today through Saturday at the Rogers Center in Sherburne, Spokesperson Heather Tehan explains:

The Friends of Afton announced the return of Afton’s Annual Christmas Parade, scheduled for Saturday December 4th at 5:00 pm. Floats and vehicles will line up at Corporate Park off Route 7, Walking groups, bicycles, and golf carts will gather at the Afton Edge Apartments.

Yesterday was Election Day, The Delaware County Board of Elections did not announce a winner for the Sidney Town Supervisor’s race, between write-in candidates Eric Wilson & Kevin Greene, Officials told WCDO News it will take days or maybe even weeks to count & certify all of the write in votes across all 19 towns from this year's elections, there were 552 write in Votes Tuesday in Sidney Town Supervisors race. The winners for the Sidney Town board were Frank Selleck & Bill Heath, in the Town of Meredith, Town Council winners were John Janiszewski & David Briggs, the Town of Franklin Board seats go to Garret Sitts & Heather Ross, the town of Middletown Supervisor Will be Patrick Davis, the Town of Tompkins Clerk was Michelle Phoenix, in the Town Of Delhi, the supervisor will be Mark Tuttle, the Town Council winners were Margaret Baldwin & Matthew Kryston & the Walton Town Supervisor will be Joseph Cetta. In Chenango County, Sheriff Ernest Cutting was re-elected, The County Clerk winner is Brian Wessels, & the winners for the Norwich City Council are Fred Gee, William Loomis, Tom Revoir & Barry Christopherson. The winners for the Guilford Town Board were Thomas Ives & Matthew Retz, in Otsego County, the Board of Representatives winners were Ed Frazier, Jerry Madsen, Rick Brockway, Margaret Kennedy, Jennifer Mickle, Charles Varney, Keith McCarty, Clark Oliver & Donald Scanlon & the Town of Oneonta Supervisor will be Randall Mowers, while Karen Liddle & Sean Farrell Won the 2 Town of Oneonta Justice seats & Kimberly Fierke & Skylar Thompson Win the 2 Seats on the Oneonta Town Board. The town of Hartwick Supervisor will be Robert O’Brien while Christopher Briggs & Bruce Markussen win the seats on the Town Board. In the Town of Unadilla, the Town Justice winner is Joshua Palmer The Unadilla Town Clerk will be Terry Yoder & the Town Council winners were Ron Reed & Jessica Grow, in the town of Laurens, George Decker, Edwin Winslow were the winners of Town Board Seats. Across New York State, voters rejected the propositions, amending the apportionment and redistricting process, eliminating the 10 day advance voter registration requirement, & authorizing the no excuse absentee balloting. Voters approved the proposition to the Right to clean air, clean water and a healthy environment.

The Annual Bainbridge Glow Run will be held Saturday at
General Clinton Park in Bainbridge.  The
event began in 2015 after Heather Bucalos of Sidney finished her treatment for
Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and decided to hold fundraisers for area cancer
patients.  This year, Heather has
suffered a relapse & her friends are teaming up to raise funds for her with
the Glow Run Fundraiser, one of those friends is Christine Oliver, who talked to

Utica Police released more details about the Murder-Suicide
near the start of the Boilermaker race Sunday.
Police said that 17-year-old Bianca Devins of Utica was found dead, her
boyfriend 21 year old Brandon Clark was found by Police after he posted
pictures of Devin’s lifeless body on social media sites 4chan & Discord,
Discord followers alerted Police about the murder & Clark also alerted
Police.  Clark was charged with
2nd-degree murder, after he was treated for self-inflicted stab wounds to the
neck.  The investigation is continuing.

The 3rd Annual Afton Sidewalk day will be held on Saturday
August 24th, organizers are hoping to get more artists & crafters to

Heather Franklin of Guilford was sentenced in Chenango
County Court to 7 to 11 years in state prison on Monday.  Heather & her husband Ernest Franklin
plotted the murder of their 16-year-old adopted special needs son Jeffrey
before setting their house on fire in March 2017 to cover up his murder.
Heather Franklin pleaded guilty earlier this year to manslaughter, arson and
tampering with physical evidence.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal
Investigation Division arrested 32-year-old Joseph Clark on 23 counts of
Criminal Contempt, it is alleged that while he was an Inmate at the Delaware
County Correctional Facility, Clark violated the terms of an Order of
Protection issued by the Town of Oneonta Court by contacting a protected
victim.  Clark is scheduled to appear in
the Town of Delhi Court on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 to answer these charges.

2 area colleges will have their Commencement Exercises Saturday. Hartwick College will graduate the class of 2018 on Elmore Field Saturday at 11:30 AM; SUNY Delhi's commencement will take place on the college track Saturday morning at 10:00 AM or at Clark Field House in the case of inclement weather.

The Otsego County Relay For Life will be held tomorrow in Milford, The tri Town Relay for Life event at General Clinton Park is Friday June 8th this year.

The 28th Annual Edward Wessels Canoe Regatta will be held tomorrow; it is sponsored by the Sidney Chamber of Commerce. The race will be starting at the Otego boat launch & will conclude in Keith Clark Park in Sidney. Awards and a dinner will be held after the race at the Sidney Elks Club, River Street. The race is considered a warm up for the upcoming General Clinton Canoe Regatta on the Memorial Day Weekend.

State Police and Broome County SIU Task Force executed a search warrant at 475 Popple Hill Road in the Town of Lisle as a result of an investigation into the sale and manufacturing of methamphetamine. Police seized items associated with one pot meth manufacturing, Arrested were Matthew Crowningshield, Heather Clark, Scott Doty & Andrew Kuhr. They were charged with Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Manufacturing Methamphetamine; they were arraigned and were remanded to the Broome County Jail without bail.

State Police arrested 32-year-old Rodney Clark of Vestal for criminal contempt & 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, after troopers responded to a request to check the welfare of 3 children in the Town of Conklin. Clark was babysitting his three young children at his ex-wife’s trailer; he is accused of being impaired by drugs and alcohol, which also violated a court order of protection that had been placed against him. Clark was arraigned & was remanded to the Broome County jail with no bail set pending future court action

The 2nd annual "Glow Run" Benefit will be held this Saturday at General Clinton park in Bainbridge, to raise funds though a %K walk or run, and through the sale of t-shirts, for Mindy Ives Natoli of Oxford. Heather Bucalos organized the event:

Bucalos said that there will be tables set up with people talking about how to donate bone marrow, with WCDO's Nate Lull particciapting, the event runs from 5:00 to 8:00 PM saturday.

5 People were arrested for drug trafficking by the Delhi Village Police Department. Officers executed a search warrant of a motor vehicle Wednesday; they seized 67 bags of heroin plus cash and hypodermic syringes. Police arrested 28-year-old Jason Arnold of Floral Park, & 36 year old Michelle Aloisi of Floral Park, for charged criminal possession of a controlled substance, obstructing governmental administration and endangering the welfare of a child. 3 local residents were arrested; 29-year-old Paul Fontana of Margaretville, 41-year-old George Robinson of Delhi, and 30-year-old Heather Countryman of Delhi faced lesser charges. Arnold and Aloisi were arraigned at the Delhi Town Court, and were sent to the Delaware County Jail on $50,000 cash bail.

Sidney Police announced that Streets closed for the parade will be West Main from Loomis to Main Street, River Street, from main to Colegrove, the route 7 Sidney entrance to the traffic light, Pearl Street at Sunset, Circle drive at Fox Street & Union Street where it meets River Street.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, Village of Greene Police Department, and State Police executed a search warrant at 87 South Chenango Street in the Village of Greene Friday. Officers arrested 47-year-old Carmine Pezzino for unlawful manufacturing of Methamphetamines; he was arraigned & was remanded to the Chenango County Jail without bail. Officers charged 3 occupants with loitering, 26 year old Cody Bush, 29 year old Rebecca Fiore & 26 year old Heather Clark, they were released & given appearance tickets for Village of Greene court at a later date. Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
