The Associated Press is reporting today that New York Attorney General Letitia James will announce her intentions to run for Governor. James's term as Attorney General led to the resignation of Former Governor Andrew Cuomo, a recent hypothetical Siena College poll among Democrats placed James a distant 2nd to current Governor Kathy Hochul, and slightly ahead of Andrew Cuomo.
The Center to Advance Palliative Care has announced that Helios Care of Oneonta, was awarded a “Silver” designation in the "Tipping Point Challenge". Alicia Fish of Helios Care told WCDO News that it is a high honor to be considered:

The State Attorney General's Office announced the indictment of Trooper Christopher Baldner, for 2nd degree Murder, 2nd degree Manslaughter and Reckless Endangerment. The indictment alleges that Trooper Baldner, while on patrol along the State Thruway in Ulster County in December, used his police vehicle to ram a car occupied by the Goods family, causing the car to flip over, resulting in the death of 11-year-old Monica Goods. Additionally, the indictment alleges that, in September of 2019, Baldner similarly endangered the lives of 3 passengers by using his police vehicle to ram their car. Baldner was arraigned and was remanded, Baldner a bail hearing will be held today.

A new Marist Poll shows that Governor Kathy Hochul enjoys a 55% favorable response from those who responded to a poll conducted October 4th through the 7th.   56% say she is a “good leader” for the state. When Democrats were polled about the potential primary field in 2022 for the race for Governor, Hochul tops other possible candidates like Attorney General Letitia James, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, and former Governor Andrew Cuomo by double-digit margins.
The City of Oneonta held a ribbon cutting for a new fenced in Dog Park in Neahwa Park Tuesday.  The park is split into 2 areas, one for big dog & another for small dogs.

State Attorney General Letitia James has opened an investigation into Governor Cuomo’s alleged use of state resources in relation to his recent book, a chronicle of the state’s battle against coronavirus for which the governor received a seven-figure advance.  Attorney General James received a referral on the matter from State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, after published reports suggested that The Governor's junior staff members and senior aides worked on “American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the Covid-19 Pandemic.”

Governor Cuomo announced the submission of 36 vetoes from the Enacted State Budget.  The vetoes include various appropriations pertaining to local assistance, and capital projects, 12 appropriations are fully expended, and 6 additional appropriations have minimal spending authority remaining. 13 appropriations are vetoed on constitutional grounds, 4 appropriations are duplicative of other re-appropriations for the same purpose, and one appropriation was previously vetoed.
