Another Winter Storm will be heading this way starting later today, local meteorologist Rich Townsend explains:

The National Weather Service has issued a "WINTER STORM WARNING" starting at 6:00 PM today until Wednesday morning at 8:00 AM. The Governor will declare a State of Emergency that goes into effect at 8 pm. Tonight, it includes Broome, Chenango, Delaware & Otsego counties.


The Sidney Community Cultural Center will have another Comedy Night this weekend, Spokesman Dennis Walrath explains:

Tickets for the Comedy Night are available at cccsidneyart.booktix.com, Walrath also said that an Open Acoustic jam will be held Wednesday Night at 6:00 PM at the Community Cultural Center at 1 bridge Street in Sidney.


Broome County DA's office announced that 40 year old Quintin Wilson of Binghamton was convicted in Broome County Court in connection with a daytime Binghamton home invasion during which 2 people terrorized a 29-year-old woman. Wilson was found guilty for 2 counts of burglary, obstructing governmental administration and endangering the welfare of a child on March 5th 2021. Wilson will be sentenced on June 9.


The Town of Unadilla announced that they will be closing the Town Court tonight, due to the impending Winter Weather.


The General Clinton Canoe Regatta meeting originally scheduled for tonight has been canceled due to the Weather, the next meeting will be Monday, April 3rd @ 6:30 pm in the backroom @ Galaxy Bowl.

Delaware County District Attorney's Office announced that 41 year old Joshua Condon of Hartwick was sentenced to 20 year in prison for sexually abusing an 8 year old child. The sentences will be followed by 10 years of Post Release Supervision, and he will be required to register as a sex offender.


Delaware County District Attorney's Office announced that 49 year old Lyman McCann of Delhi was arraigned on a 3 county Indictments in Delaware County Court last week. McCann was charged with failure to register a change of address, criminal possession of a weapon and Offering a False Instrument for filing . McCann is accused of failing to notify Law enforcement of a change of address, failing to register as a sex offender and possessing a billy club in October of last year, he was sent to the Delaware County Jail on $5,000 Cash Bail or $10,000 bond.


19th District Congressman Marc Molinaro will host town halls in Otsego & Delaware Counties today, The Otsego County Town Hall will be held at 11:00am at the Oneonta Town Hall in West Oneonta, followed by the Delaware County Town Hall at 1:00 PM at the Walton Fire House.


The 13th edition of the Hall of Fame Classic will be played on Saturday, May 27 at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown. The Classic will feature Hall of Famers Rollie Fingers, Fergie Jenkins, Jim Kaat and Jack Morris along with Recently retired players representing each of the 30 big league teams, in the 7 inning game. The Southern Tier Music Festival will be held July 1st at the Sidney Airport with a number of musical acts and other activities scheduled, The idea was started by Ed Curley of Sidney, it grew to include area businesses, 4Towns Forward & Millenia Entertainment. A winter weather advisory is in effect through tomorrow morning, Local Meteorologist Rich town send explains:

The Winter Weather Advisory runs through 9:00 AM tomorrow, another system is heading this way that could effect the region Sunday Night into Monday.


The Clocks will go ahead 1 hour for Daylight Saving Time Sunday at 2:00 AM officially. When yo go to bed on Saturday night, move all of your clocks ahead 1 hour, and also make sure to replace batteries in old style smoke detectors as well this weekend.


The State DEC announced that the annual Spring Brush Burning Ban will begin next week. The burn ban runs from March 16th through May 14th this year, more information is available at dec.ny.gov.

Delaware County District Attorney's office announced that 74 year old Gary Miller of Sidney pleaded guilty to Endangering the welfare of a child. Miller admitted to touching a 10 year old female inappropriately, he was sentenced to 6 days in jail followed by a 1 year conditional discharge, he was also ordered to pay over $400 in fees, and he is required to submit DNA for the state's DNA Data bank.

The Otsego County Town Hall will be held Monday, at 11:00am at the Oneonta Town Hall in West Oneonta, followed by the Delaware County Town Hall at 1:00 PM at the Walton Fire House, The town halls are open to the public.


The Tri-Town Theatre will present John Steinbeck's "Of Mice & Men" Saturday Night & Sunday afternoon at the Sidney High School Auditorium, cast member George Wells comments:

The New York Central Mutual Foundation announced a $50,000 donation to the United Way of Delaware and Otsego Counties in support of its mission to improve the quality of life for local residents in the areas of income, education, and health. In addition to the foundation's donation, NYCM Insurance employees surpassed their goal in fundraising for the United Way of Delaware and Otsego Counties. A total of $2,077 was donated by 130 employees across the state, surpassing their goal of $2,000.
