The state DEC Announced that $2,000,000 in grants are available to organizations for projects to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species in New York State's waterways, The grants are the latest action in the state's comprehensive efforts to combat aquatic invasive species and aim to foster outreach to users of water bodies, install decontamination stations and provide steward training programs in high priority areas. Applications & more information are available at dec.ny.gov.

State Police Superintendent Joseph D'Amico discussed a new App that will be an extension of the "See Something, Say Something" campaign, launched after 9/11:

State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli reported that Total state receipts through the first 7 months of the fiscal year totaled just under $85 billion, $181.8 million lower than the Division of the Budget’s latest projections but $1.9 billion higher than April projections. The General Fund ended October with a balance of $11.4 billion, largely due to financial settlements. Year-to-date tax collections were $5.4 million over the latest projections and nearly $1.7 billion over initial projections from the Enacted State Budget.

2 Deposit men have been arrested by the Delaware County Sheriff's Office on multiple felony drug sale charges following a 6 month investigation. Both men were indicted by a Delaware County Grand Jury and arrested on Arrest Warrants issued late Thursday afternoon by the Delaware County Court. 29 year old Clint Stevens of Deposit was arrested on a Sealed Indictment Warrant charging him with 3 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, prior to that he was arrested on several other charges, for allegedly selling Heroin in Deposit. On Friday morning, Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 34-year-old Todd Perrington of Deposit on a Sealed Indictment Warrant charging him with 3 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance; he was arrested at the Broome County Jail where he was being held on separate drug charges, for also allegedly selling heroin in Deposit. Stevens and Perrington were arraigned on the latest counts & were remanded to the Delaware County Jail without bail pending future court appearances.
The Delaware County Fair will continue for day 2 tomorrow at the County Fair Grounds in Walton. Fair Spokesman John Jackson told WCDO News what is scheduled for Tuesday:
