State Police are requesting the public’s help finding 36-year-old JESSICA MARBLE of Altamont. Marble left her residence Sunday evening without medication that she needs for a serious medical condition, she left her cell phone and her dog behind & she missed a meeting with friends in Amsterdam on Sunday evening. Marble’s car is a black 2015 Honda CRV, it entered the State Thruway at Exit 25A, Interstate 88, and left at Exit 25, she may have re-entered the Thruway at Exit 27 & and left at Exit 34, Canastota, at about 4:00 AM Monday. Marble is 5’ 2” tall, weighs about 140 pounds and has blue eyes and brown hair; her license plate number is “DBK1402”. Anyone with information can call state police at (518) 783-3211.
U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer visited upstate Monday, where he expressed his support for a proposal to place rollover bars on farm tractors. Schumer cited statistics that show that farmers are 8 times more likely to die on the job than most workers. Schumer said that the Trump administration’s proposed budget for 2018, cuts the Northeast Center for Occupation Safety and Health for Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing, which is a rebate program that helps farmers purchase lifesaving equipment, including the "rollover bars." The program is supported by the National Tractor Safety Council.
Governor Cuomo's office announced that the New York Mets will be moving their Triple A minor league team form Las Vegas to Syracuse, after the team bought the Syracuse Chiefs franchise. The acquisition puts the Mets top 2 level farm teams in upstate New York, as Double A Binghamton has been affiliated with the Mets since the early 90's. The Washington Nationals have had their Triple A team in Syracuse for several years, and they will need to relocate.
The Delaware County Office for the Aging announced today that they are moving to their new location at 97 Main Street in Delhi. The agency will be closed for business tomorrow through this Friday; any emergency situation regarding the Office should be forwarded to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department at 832-5555. The Office for the Aging will re-open at the new location on Monday, October 16th.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 18-year-old Joshua Davis, of Downsville Thursday on a multitude of charges following a 6-month investigation into sex crimes involving numerous victims. Davis is charged with 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, 6 counts of sexual misconduct, and 7 counts of 2nd degree Rape, for allegedly engaging in sexual contact with a child, and other related incidents. Davis was arraigned and was released on his own recognizance, he then surrendered to Deputies on 5 additional counts of sexual misconduct, from a separate investigation, he was arraigned in Walton Village Court on the 2nd round of charges & is scheduled to re-appear at Walton Village Court at a later date.

At noon the 4th of July Parade will go down Main Street starting at the Foothills Performing Arts Center on Market Street. The rest of the festivites will be held from 1:00 pm to 11:00 PM in Neahwa Park, featuring Live Music, various Activities, Food, a free Oneonta Outlaws Baseball Game & the Fireworks Display at 9:30 pm.
U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer is urging FEMA to process requests quickly to assist the Mohawk Valley area, which was hit with heavy rain, flash flooding & a possible Tornado near Vernon Downs over the weekend. Schumer said that if a disaster declaration is made, grant assistance would be available to state and local governments and certain nonprofit organizations to reimburse costs incurred from emergency work, and repairs or replacement of damaged facilities. FEMA usually covers 75% of the costs after a disaster declaration.
Governor Cuomo announced that juries in New York State would be allowed to consider a photo array shown to a witness by police. Previously, State law prohibited photo arrays from being introduced as evidence at trial; the State also has adopted a standard protocol for law enforcement to follow when showing photos to witnesses for purposes of identifying the perpetrator of a crime.

The American Red Cross is urging all eligible donors throughout the state to give blood following the recent winter storm, which forced 56 regional blood drives to cancel and blood donations centers to shut down, causing about 1,480 donations to go uncollected. Officials said that there is a critical need for type O negative donors. Upcoming Blood drives will be held in Oneonta on Monday from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 PM at SUNY Oneonta, on March 27th from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Southside Oneonta Holiday Inn, & March 28th from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Oneonta Elks Club, on Chestnut Street. Blood donations will be collected in Sidney on March 28th from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Sidney Elks Lodge, & in Walton on March 28th at the Pines Brook Church, from 2:00 to 7:00 PM. Nearly 1.3 million households have already received help heating their homes this winter through the program. A man whose name was synonymous with the General Clinton Canoe Regatta has died at the age of 78. Dick Davies died on Saturday; he was a 1970 Regatta champion, served for many years on the Regatta Committee and was instrumental in the development of the Regatta Museum & Hall of Fame. Delaware County Sheriff Deputies arrested 35 year old Brian Bennett of Stamford, on an arrest warrant issued by Stamford Town Court for criminal mischief. The arrest is follows an investigation into an assault in a parking lot on January 19th, where Bennett allegedly attempted to assault Stamford Firemen on the scene & damaged the windshield of a Stamford Fireman’s personal vehicle, causing damage of more than $250 dollars. Bennet was remanded back to the Delaware County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.
US Senator Chuck Schumer wants the National Transportation Safety Board to conduct an investigation of small plane crashes, following 2 more crashes last month and at 18 crashes in New York State last year. Schumer cited a February 19th crash of a single-engine plane that took off from Long Island and crashed into a neighborhood in Bayonne, New Jersey, as well as a February 26th crash of a plane being used for practice at another Long Island airport, where 2 people were killed.

The Arc Otsego is accepting artwork submissions for its 13th Annual Voice! event, which will be held July 27, 2017 through August 11, 2017 in the Martin-Mullen Art Gallery in the Fine Arts Building at SUNY Oneonta.
