Walton police arrested 33 year old Lloyd Hunt of Unadilla and 30 year old Jeremy Stafford of Walton, in connection with the armed robbery of a Walton tobacco shop last week. Hunt & Stafford were charged with 1st degree robbery and 3rd degree criminal possession of a weapon, plus petty larceny, both were arraigned, Hunt was sent to jail on $50,000 bail and Stafford was jailed on $30,000 bail, for the armed robbery on November 28th at the Smoker's Choice shop, the investigation into the robbery is continuing.

State Police arrested 29-year-old Benjamin Ryan of Oxford for Felony DWI, & Criminal Possession of a Weapon. The arrest resulted from a vehicle stop for failing to stop at a stop sign on State Route 7 in Unadilla, the investigation determined that Ryan was driving while intoxicated, a check of his criminal history showed that he had a prior conviction for DWI and a prior felony conviction. During an inventory of the vehicle, Ryan was accused of unlawfully possessing a bolt-action rifle. Ryan was arraigned at the Town of Unadilla Court and remanded to the Otsego County Jail without bail.

6 Sidney area residents were arrested on drug trafficking charges Friday evening by members of the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, Sidney Village Police Department and State Police, following a 5 month investigation, and the execution of a search warrant Friday. Arrested were 43 year old Gabriel Bonacci, on 2 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, for Heroin, 27 year old Rene Hurlburt of Unadilla, for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance for Cocaine. Also arrested was 64 year old Donna Bonacci of Sidney for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to sell for the intended sale of cocaine, heroin, prescription drugs & marihuana. Police also charged 53 year old Belinda Davis of Sidney on 3 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance for allegedly selling Oxycodone, 32 year old Randal Babcock of Sidney for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance for allegedly selling Xanax & 34 year old Chad Walters of Mount Upton for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance. All werearraigned & were remanded to the Delaware County Jail without bail, additional arrests & drug charges are pending.

New York State Assemblyman Cliff Crouch is among the inaugural class for the Unatego Hall of Distinction, which will be inducted during Homecoming activities tonight. Crouch graduated from Unadilla High School in 1963 & has served in the state Assembly since 1995. Crouch was selected for the inaugural class, along with Irmabelle Sheldon, Richard Licht and Perry Secor, who will be inducted posthumously. The induction of the first class will be during halftime of Unatego’s Homecoming football game tonight.

State Police arrested 37 year old Brian Johns of Sidney & 43 year old Jason Rude of Unadilla for Trespassing. The arrest occurred after a complaint from a residence on Sanly Road in Franklin, , where both men were accused of walking near the residence while wearing dark clothing and possessing binoculars at night. Johns and Rude were arraigned in town of Sidney Court and were remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $1,000 cash bail. An order of protection was issued against both men.

State Police at Sidney arrested 23 year old Wesley Crawn & 26 year old Heather Wrench of Sidney, on charges of 1st degree Forgery 1st, & 4th degree conspiracy, following an investigation into counterfeit bills being passed in the Sidney area. Wrench and Crawn were arraigned on the charges and remanded to the Delaware County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail. The investigation also lead to the arrest of 20 year old Natasha Finch of Unadilla, for 3 counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, 4th degree Conspiracy & 3 counts of Petit Larceny. Finch was arraigned and remanded to the Otsego County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail. The investigation is ongoing, additional arrests are pending, anyone with information is encouraged to contact the New York State Police at 561-7400.

Otsego County held its 17h annual Hazardous Waste Collection Day this past weekend. On Friday morning, a satellite event was held in Unadilla at the Town Highway garage, where 110 cars dropped off hazardous materials from 116 households. The main event was held on Saturday at the Meadows Office Complex, with 362 cars dropping off hazardous materials from 378 households. Volunteers diverted latex paint from the waste stream, it will be re-mixed by Golden Artist Colors & distributed at a later time.

Several local fire companies responded to the fire at the Hillcrest roller Rink on West Main Street in Sidney last night. Fire fighters from Sidney, Wells Bridge, Deposit, Mount Upton, Walton, Trout Creek, Oneonta, Unadilla, Masonville, Franklin & Bainbridge responded to the fire, which was called out at about 11:30 PM. Sidney Fire Chief Greg peck told WCDO News that the cause of the fire is undetermined:

The accident occurred at around 2:45 Sunday afternoon, between a car and motorcycle occurred in a driveway near the juncture of Sheep Pen Road and Sanly Road, Police said that 21 year old Benjamin Newman of Bainbridge; & 68 year old Richard Lewis of Birmingham, Alabama collided, 4 people suffered a variety of injuries.

Chenango county Sheriff’s Deputies and New Berlin Police arrested Michael Gincerowski of Binghamton for Felony DWI, Refusal to submit to a breath test, Open container in a motor vehicle and leaving the scene for a property damage accident following an investigation where Gincerowski allegedly struck a vehicle at the Unadilla Race Track in the Town of Columbus and left the scene. New Berlin Police located the vehicle on State Hwy 8 in the Town of New Berlin and determined Gincerowski was operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition, he was arraigned in the Town of New Berlin court and remanded to the Chenango County Jail pending future court action.

State Police arrested 19-year-old Damian Schlabsz of Unadilla for unlawful imprisonment & 2nd degree menacing, for allegedly attacking a woman with a knife near Bainbridge July 6th. Schlabsz was taken to the Chenango County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
