The Chenango county sheriff’s department arrested Jeremy Hazard of Smyrna on an active arrest warrant for Promoting Prison Contraband.   Hazard was found to be in possession of Marihuana while entering the Chenango County Correctional Facility. Hazard was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and held on $1,000.00 cash bail & will reappear in the Town of Norwich Court at a later date.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Department arrested a town of Norwich man for resisting arrest. 33 year old Todd Vance was charged following a traffic stop in the town of Smyrna. Vance fled from the scene into a wooded area and was located at the Rogers Conservation Center. Vance was arraigned in town of Sherburne Court and sent to the Chenango County Jail on $3,000 bail.

State comptroller Tom DiNapoli released the results from audits conducted by his office, locally, in the village of Delhi, the audit showed that the village mayor and board have not developed sound budget estimates, their surplus fund balances remained high while the property tax levy continued to increase. A report on the village of Smyrna stated that the board did not segregate the clerk-treasurer’s duties & the lack of oversight caused financial activities to vary greatly from adopted budgets.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s office arrested 36-year-old Chad Hanyon of Smyrna for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.  Hanyon was found to be in possession of Marihuana by deputies, he was released on an appearance ticket for the Town of Smyrna Court on a later date.

The Chenango county sheriff’s department arrested 44-year-old David Crane of Smyrna for Aggravated Criminal Contempt, 4th degree Criminal Mischief and Resisting Arrest.  Crane is accused of violating an order of protection, engaging in a domestic dispute & fleeing the scene before deputies arrived.  Deputies & State Troopers returned to the scene and were able to locate Crane in a crawlspace, he was apprehended without incident. He was arraigned in the Village of Smyrna court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail.

The Chenango county sheriff's department arrested 29-year-old Daniel Harmon of Smyrna for 4th degree Grand Larceny and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  Harmon is accused of stealing a purse  from a shopping cart at the Big M Supermarket in Sherburne, while in the company of his  daughter.  Harmon was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Village of Sherburne Court at a later date.

The Chenango County Sheriffs Office arrested 57 year old Gregory Manwarren of Smyrna for 4th degree Criminal Mischief 4th and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  Manwarren was charged after a domestic dispute in which he caused damage to a motor vehicle, He was arraigned in the Town of Plymouth Court and was released on his own recognizance to appear in the Town of Smyrna Court at a later date.

The Chenango County Sheriffs Office arrested two Smyrna residents and one Norwich resident for 6th degree Conspiracy & Petit Larceny.  Charged were 18-year-old Tyler Campbell, 18-year-old Tiffany Robbins and 18-year-old Deanna Kirwin for allegedly stealing items from the Norwich Wal-Mart store.  Campbell, Robbins and Kirwin were issued appearance tickets and ordered to appear before the Town of Norwich Court on January 17th.
