State Police are asking the public’s help in locating 29-year-old Anthony Masi after an assault in Oneonta. State Police were called to the Budget Inn on State Route 23 Thursday evening for a report of a woman bleeding, Troopers found a victim bleeding heavily from a large cut on her nose, from a machete-type knife during an argument. The victim was taken to Bassett Hospital, and transferred to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse to undergo surgery, Anyone with information about Masi or his location is asked to contact State Police at 607-561-7400.

Governor Hochul signed into law a bill which allows for New York air ambulances to carry blood products. The measure followed an injury of Travis Flanagan in Greene, who was severely injured & was airlifted from Greene to Syracuse in an air ambulance based in Pennsylvania that carried blood on board; New York was the only state in the nation whose regulations prohibited medical helicopters from carrying blood. Flanagan appeared at a press conference in Binghamton yesterday with Assembly members Donna Lupardo & Joe Angelino & State Senator Fred Akshar.

State Police announced today that 22 year old Michael Andreev Jr. has been charged with 2 counts of 2nd degree murder & 1 count of criminal possession of a weapon, for allegedly stabbing his father, 67 year old Michael Andreev Sr. and 12-year-old sister, Sofia Trusova in Jordanville Sunday. State Police said that they found Andreev Jr. in the front yard of the family residence with a neck laceration Sunday, he was taken to a Syracuse Hospital for treatment, and he was discharged today & was taken into police custody, he was processed and was being held in the Herkimer County Jail without bail, the investigation is still ongoing.

State Police were called to a home on State Route 167 at around 7:00 PM, a person of interest in the investigation was flown by helicopter to Upstate Medical in Syracuse with unknown injuries, State Police reported that there was no threat to the public.

Chenango County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal 2-car motor vehicle accident on County Road 36 in the Town of Guilford Monday. Investigators reported that 22-year-old Dominique Brissett of Walkill was traveling north bound on County Road 36 and collided with an SUV operated by 23-year-old Rachel Feyh of Sidney. Brissett was pronounced dead on the scene, Feyh was air lifted by Life Net to SUNY Upstate Medical in Syracuse, where she was listed in critical but stable condition. The investigation into the cause of the motor vehicle accident is still ongoing.

The State Fair is scrapping its traditional "Governor's Day" event, as Governor Cuomo is resigning 4 days after the Fair starts this Friday in Syracuse. Traditionally, the state's Governor does a ceremonial ribbon cutting at the start of every State Fair, Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul said that she plans to attend the State Fair at some point; she becomes Governor on August 24th.

The Unadilla Valley Central School District will host a 5K run/walk at 9:00 AM tomorrow for 14 year old Cooper Hine, who is a Unadilla Valley 8th Grader, who was seriously injured in an ATV crash in New Berlin recently. Another fundraising chicken barbecue and Chinese auction will follow at the South New Berlin Fire Department. Hine has been hospitalized at the Upstate Medical center in Syracuse.

19th District Congressman Antonio Delgado has secured federal funding for road projects in Otsego and Schoharie Counties through the recently passed “INVEST in America Act”. Some of the new funding will go for a Roundabout at the intersection of Main Street, Maple Street & the Lettis Highway in Downtown Oneonta, with 3.2 million dollars in federal funding available, the bill has passed in the House of Representatives, but still requires passage in the US Senate.

Attorney General Letitia James announced the indictment in Syracuse Wednesday, she said that more than $2 million in drugs, including cocaine & heroin mixed with fentanyl, plus 15 guns and $490,000 in cash were seized. The investigation was a join effort by the AG’s Organized Crime Task Force, the drug task forces in Oneida and Madison counties, and more than a dozen other agencies.

Delhi Fire fighters responded to a fire in the early Morning hours Friday on Elk Creek Road, the homeowners Michael & Lisa Buel were able to safely evacuate with their dog; however 5 of the family’s cats died in the fire. The Buels were taken to O’Connor Hospital for smoke inhalation; Michael Buel was transferred to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse for further treatment. Bloomville, Bovina, East Meredith, Meridale and Walton Fire Departments responded with several others on standby. The fire was under control in about 3 hours, the home was a total loss, and no injuries were reported among firefighters.

Syracuse University Sports fans will be returning to the Carrier Dome at full capacity for the 2021-22 athletic season. Officials said that there will be no capacity restrictions or social distancing rules, but fans must provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test. Depending on changes to CDC and state guidance, some rules may change closer to the start of the athletic season.

The Unadilla Valley Central School District will host a 5K run/walk at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, July 17, for 14 year old Cooper Hine, who is a Unadilla Valley 8th Grader, who was seriously injured in an ATV crash in New Berlin recently. Another fundraising chicken barbecue and Chinese auction will follow at the South New Berlin Fire Department on July 17th. Hine is hospitalized at the Upstate Medical center in Syracuse.
Chenango County Public Health announced that due to the continued decline in COVID 19 cases, they will release updates once a week. Currently Chenango County reported 7 active cases, 14 quarantines & no hospitalizations; they have had a total of 35212 cases, 3331 recoveries, & 77 deaths since the pandemic started 15 months ago.

The 2021 New York State Fair will run from August 20th to September 6th in Syracuse, it will increase capacity to 100% and reopen many popular buildings with additional vendors. In accordance with the State's evolving health guidelines, indoor spaces will be subject to capacity limits to allow attendees to be socially distanced within each building. State Police announced the Run for the Fallen begins in Syracuse today & heads toward Albany over 3 days, to honor fallen service members. Part of the second day of the run comes through Otsego County & Traffic delays are likely around 11:00 a.m., along State Route 20 from West Winfield through Richfield Springs and East Springfield. The race ends Sunday from Sharon Springs to Albany; more information is available on the State Police website.

The Cooperstown Dreams Park announced that they will offer refunds to teams who declined to participate in the summer tournament this year, as long as the request is submitted in writing by next Monday April 19th. The park announced that they were requiring players 12 and older to be vaccinated against COVID-19 before arriving, many teams & parents of expected participants requested refunds & cancelled their participation, as some states where the players would be coming from, have not yet allowed children to receive COVID vaccines, making it impossible for them to get vaccinated before this summer's tournaments.

The Murder Trial of Dylan Robinson of Oneonta has been postponed in Otsego County Court Today; due to a COVID outbreak at the detention center in Syracuse where Robinson is being held. Robinson is accused of murdering his father and then setting the house on fire in October of 2019 in Worcester, several others involved in the case have had their day in court.

State Police were dispatched to a report of a motorcycle crash on Atwell Hill Road in the town of Windsor. 61 year old David Enyart of Windsor was traveling south on Atwell Hill Road when his motorcycle had a mechanical failure causing him and his bike to go off the road into the ditch. Enyart was transported by ambulance to Wilson Hospital & was transferred to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.

State Police are investigating a fatal crash on State Route 13 in the town of Homer. 55 year old Michael Knickerbocker of Cincinnatus has been identified as the deceased, Police said that he was the only occupant of a Chevrolet that struck a parked U-Haul truck making deliveries and parked on the shoulder of State Route 13. Knickerbocker was taken to an area hospital & was pronounced deceased. 2 people were in the U-Haul, A 49-year-old male was in the rear of the truck looking for a package when the vehicle was struck, he was taken to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse with head and neck pain, the 2nd delivery person was able to jump out of the way & was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.

A Chenango County Sheriff's Office Deputy was assaulted on County Road 10 in the Town of Pharsalia Monday night. 44 year old Seymour Shaver was wanted on an active arrest warrant from a previous incident, the Deputy approached Shaver and attempted to take him into custody, Shaver struck the Deputy several times & fled the scene. The Deputy was taken to Chenango Memorial Hospital and was transported to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with serious, non-life threatening injuries. This Afternoon, Sheriff Cutting announced that Shaver was taken into custody in Pharsalia without incident in connection with the assault of the Deputy.
