Many Sidney Main Street businesses went "Blue" today, to increase awareness about colorectal cancer and encouraging them to get screened for this preventable disease. Stephanie Thorne of the Cancer Services Program of Delaware, Otsego and Schoharie Counties comments:

Thorne said that More than half of deaths from colon cancer can be prevented with regular screening and it’s still the #2 cause of death among New Yorkers. More information is available at 1-888-345-0225.

The Cancer Services Program of Delaware Otsego & Schoharie counties will bring the Bassett Mobile Screening Coach to Sidney later this month, to a variety of tests for those who are insured or underinsured. Spokesperson Stephanie Thorne said that the colorectal screening test is a take home kit:

Thorne said that the Bassett Mobile Screening coach will be in Sidney on Tuesday June 16th in the Sidney Great American parking lot from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, appointments & more information is available at 1-888-345-0225.

The Cancer Services Program of Delaware, Otsego and Schoharie counties will offer free health screenings to women 40 and older who are uninsured, with the Bassett Cancer Institute’s mobile screening coach in Oneonta today. Spokesperson Stephanie Thorne comments:
