A New York State Appeals Court has upheld the Murder
Conviction of Nigel Saunders for the
murder of Jordan Dordell in Binghamton in November of 2013. Saunders & Julian Talamantez were
convicted in Broome County court for the Dordell killing, Saunders will
continue to serve his 25 years to life sentence following the failure of his
appeal.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking for
Jordan Hawk on an outstanding warrant, he is known to frequent the Anne Road
area in the Town of Windsor, he is
described as a White Male, 5'5" about 130 pounds with Brown hair &
brown eyes, he is wanted on a violation of parole for criminal possession of a
weapon. Anyone with information on
Jordan Hawk is asked to contact the Broome County Sheriff’s Office at

Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville and the Wildlife Conservation Center of Virginia announced that Tajiri, the calf of April born before the whole world last year, will be transported to the Carolina Wildlife Conservation Park outside of Raleigh, North Carolina. Animal Adventure Park owner Jordan Patch stated that this move will allow Tajiri to play a vital role in the conservation and propagation initiatives that align with the facilities mission statements. State Police arrested 49 year old Scott Ray of Afton for DWI, after Troopers on patrol observed the vehicle Ray was operating speeding and cross over the double yellow line while on County Road 39 in Afton. A traffic stop was initiated and troopers determined Ray was impaired, he was arrested and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Afton Court on September 17, 2018.

The 56th General Clinton Canoe Regatta was held over the Memorial Day weekend with over 1,000 paddlers participating. The popular 70 mile 2 person race was a close one, the team of Andy Triebold & Steve Lajoie won their 8th race by beating 2nd place finishers Serge Corbin & Guillaume Blaise by a little under 5 minutes, but the real excitement was the sprint to the finish for the 2nd place position, where Corbin & Blaise beat local pros Trever LeFever & Ben Schlimmer of Oneonta by 3 seconds. WCDO’s Craig Stevens spoke with challenging the 28 time Regatta Champ:

The 55th running of the General Clinton Canoe Regatta was held this past weekend, with the World famous 70-mile races from Cooperstown to Bainbridge held yesterday. Canadians Steve Lajoie & Guillaume Blaise taking 1st place in the 33 boat Pro race. Craig Stevens spoke to the pair after the race:

The pair neat out 2nd place finishers Trevor LeFever & Ben Schlimmer from Oneonta by more than 7 minutes, to take home the $3,000 prize. Ryan Zaveral of Mount Upton & his Partner Guy Rousseau from Quebec placed 9th overall, and Regatta Hall of fame inductee Al Shaver Jr. of Meridale took 12th place with his partner Bruce Lee of Port Crane.

The 2016 Little League World Series Champion Maine-Endwell team will be honored in a ceremony on Saturday at 6:30 PM prior to the Binghamton Mets game against the Erie Sea Wolves. Binghamton Police charged 27-year-old Nicholas Chappell of Binghamton with 2nd -degree murder & attempted 2nd degree murder for the fatal shooting at 1 Mozart Street Wednesday morning. Chappell is accused of fatally shooting 23-year-old David Sanborn of Whitney Point & injuring 26-year-old Jordan Doolittle of Windsor. The investigation is ongoing.

Binghamton police have identified the murder victim from Monday as 22 year old Jordan Dordell, who was Beaten, stabbed, bound, & set on fire, his 19 year old pregnant girlfriend was taken to Wilson Hospital where she is in critical condition, but is expected to survive. 25 year old Nigel Saunders and 21 year old Julian Talamantez were arraigned Tuesday on felony counts of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder, they were sent to the Broome County jail without bail.
