A new Quinnipiac University poll has Governor Cuomo's approval rating to 44%, with 42% disapproval. A poll in March had the governor at 50% approval & 39% disapproval. 45% of those polled think all state lawmakers should be voted out of office.

The Delaware County Department of Corrections announced that the 4th annual Andrew Brown Memorial Golf Tournament would be held tomorrow at Hardwood Hills gold Course in Masonville, with a tee time of 8:30 AM. Organizers announced that the money raise with this years tournament will go to the family of Johnson City Police officer David Smith, who was shot & killed in the line of duty on March 31st.

Governor Cuomo's campaign will not appeal a ruling allowing Zephyr Teachout to remain in the Democratic primary. A state appeals court rejected the campaign's argument that Teachout has spent part of the past five years in Vermont. A lower court had already ruled Teachout could stay on the ballot for the September 9th primary. Teachout teaches at Fordham University Law School in New York City. A recent Quinnipiac University poll found 85 percent of state Democrats said they know too little about Teachout to have any opinion of her.

About 8 in 10 New York voters back the legalization of medical marijuana, as a bill to allow it works its way through the Legislature according to a new poll. 83% of those polled by Quinnipiac University support the drug for medical purposes, o 15% are opposed. 51% are in favor of legalizing marijuana, with 44%% opposed. The state Senate Health Committee last week approved a bill to allow medical marijuana for 20 chronic conditions with a 7% sales tax on the retail price. By a 9-8 vote, it was sent to the chamber’s finance committee, keeping it alive for a potential vote of the full Senate

A new Quinnipiac University poll shows that 88% Of the 1,488 New York voters surveyed, support the legalization of marijuana for medicinal use, only 9% were opposed. The legalization of marijuana for recreational use was supported 57-39%. The poll was conducted between February 6th & February 10th, with a margin of error of +/-2.5 percentage points.

Governor Cuomo’s approval rating remains high at 63%, according to the latest Quinnipiac University poll. The poll also showed that Cuomo would defeat Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino by a 58% to 24% margin in the race for Governor, he would defeat Donald Trump by a 63% to 26% margin.   Astorino was also unknown to 86% of voters.  Astorino has formed a committee to study the feasibility for entering the governor’s race as the republican candidate.

Governor Cuomo holds a wide lead over his potential Republican challengers in the 2014 gubernatorial race, according the latest Polls. A Wall Street Journal-NBC-Marist poll found that Cuomo leads Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino 65 to 23%, with similar leads against Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin and former Republican gubernatorial nominee Carl Paladino. A Quinnipiac University Poll shows Cuomo over Astorino by 56 to 25% margin.

The latest Quinnipiac University survey found 46% of state voters still opposed Hydraulic fracturing for natural gas, while Support for drilling increased slightly 42%.  The vote was evenly split among upstate voters, while New York City residents were against it.  The poll also found that 32% believe Governor Cuomo was dragging his feet at making a decision on gas drilling, while 24% believed that he was carefully weighing all options.  Cuomo said that he is waiting for a health review from state Health Commissioner Nirav Shah, who has delayed the release of his findings twice this year.

Governor Andrew Cuomo's popularity has plummeted following the passage of the state new tough gun law.  The Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday shows the Democrat dropped from an approval rating of 74% in December to 59%.  Quinnipiac questioned 1,127 voters; the poll has a margin of about 3%
