The Chenango county sheriffs department arrested 27-year-old Benjamin Intres of Plymouth for Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and 2nd degree Harassment. Intres is accused of subjecting a female victim to unwanted physical contact, knocking the victim to the ground & choking her, during a domestic dispute. Intres was arraigned in the Town of Plymouth Court & was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional facility on $2,500 cash bail; he faces court action in the Town of Plymouth Court at a later date.

Fire Destroyed a South Otselic building Sunday afternoon that housed a store, police sub-station and apartments. Firefighters responded to 1597 State Highway 26, from South Otselic, Smyrna, Norwich, Plymouth and 5 other area departments. No injuries were reported, 5 families were displaced, & Chenango County fire investigators have ruled the blaze as accidental, & they believe it started on the first floor.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies & the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29 year old Jonathan Hopkins of South Plymouth on an arrest warrant issued by the Delhi Town Court. Hopkins is a Level 3 Sex Offender, he was charged with 1 count of Failing to Report a Change of Address within 10 days and 1count of Failing to Verify an Address every 90 days. Hopkins was arraigned & was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29-year-old Kyle Hackett of North Norwich for 1 Count each of 1st degree Rape, 1st degree Sexual Abuse & Endangering the Welfare of a child. Hackett is accused of forcibly engaging in sexual contact with an under age female victim.  Hackett was arraigned in the Town of Plymouth Court and remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $25,000 cash bail.

The Chenango county Sheriff's department arrested 29-year-old Bradley Short of Otego for Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer and Reckless Endangerment. Short was charged after failing to stop for law enforcement for allegedly speeding. Short was arraigned in the Town of Plymouth Court and remanded to the Chenango County jail. Short was charged the following day with 1 count of Promoting prison contraband, where he is accused of possessing marihuana in the county jail, he was issued an appearance ticket for Town of Norwich court at a later date.

State Police of Norwich arrested 47-year-old Mathew Bates, of Plymouth for 2nd degree Harassment.   The arrest followed an investigation into a recent dispute in the town of Plymouth, Bates was arraigned in the Town of Sherburne Court and released on his own recognizance & will reappear in court on March 28th.

The Chenango county sheriffs department arrested Thomas Prisco of Lattingtown for Strangulation, Unlawful Imprisonment, and Criminal Mischief.  Deputies picked up Prisco in the town of Plymouth on a warrant for a domestic violence.  Prisco was arraigned in the Town of Plymouth Court and was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $75,000 cash bail pending future court action.
